Bookends
Jul 25 2008

MACVET  Hi Thomas, it would be good if you could give some more details for your claim. Since you act as a heavy user in the Sente forum your Macupdate post here seems to be a cheap ad for Sente and nothing more.

I have compared Sente and Bookends a while ago and apart from the somewhat nicer appearance of Sente I couldn't find any features where Bookends needs to "catch up". In fact I don't think that any other bibliography manager for Mac OS X is as feature rich and as versatile as Bookends (at the time writing). And this goes along with a brilliant support.

Just my 2cents,

macvet

MACVET  How blind one can be. I overlooked the neat little button "Show bad links only" in the upper left. This reduces my wishlist to "0".

MACVET  It's a great tool to check your webpage and clean up broken links. "Integrity" lists all links and shows their status. Broken links get a red mark and can easily be spotted. You can even find links which are redirected, often being the first step to deleting a webpage. If you click on an item, you get a list of pages where the broken link is placed, making it easy for you to either upload missing pages or to change the link in the found pages.

Integrity is doing a much better work than the typical SEO webpages and is more comfortable than reading your logs to find broken links.

For the future I'd wish, that I could sort the results to have all 404s together.

Anyway, thanks for this cool tool.

MACVET  Just to clarify something. I am not the developer. I have reviewed the fully working classic application TexFinder and not TexFinderX for Mac OS X as you might have read.

JAN HERRMANN  Papyrus for Macintosh is among the personal bibliography managers for Macintosh the best and most affordable tool for serious researchers. It's not as easy to use as Endnote, but the richness in features compensates that a few times. Of course you can use it from the very first day intuitively, but you will gradually learn to use shortcuts and benefits over the hours of usage. And looking to the very well written handbook is actually fun. I use this application in Classic environment a few hours daily and maintain a 30.000+ reference collection.
