MACMEND I just installed this, and then realised there is no directions on how to uninstall, the installer is very comprehensive, uninstall is not. Python based by the look of it and really for the geek user. I have spent a long time demythologising IT, I hate geek style stuff, packed with geek speak and terminal stuff when a simple gui would do. If only spiceworks worked on mac (Version 3.4.8)

MACMEND Simple and to the point, this seems to perform better than squidman, its easy to install and set up. Its only downside is I sometimes have to install squidman on an osx server and this does not seem to run on osx server (well I cant get ti to start) I still give it 5 stars (Version 0.8.3)

MACMEND I'll add more to that...check the opera knowledgebase and you find in the section on how to change skins that the instruction applies to Opera 6 and has not been updated since 2003-01-14; (Version 9.0.2)

Opera | Dec 10 2006 |
MACMEND I was so so disappointed with Opera, because in tests it seems to be the fastest browser around, and I have one complaint that is so all encompassing...it is not easy to use.... By this I mean nothing is where I expect it to be, it has alot of bells and whisltes and they do not act behave or appear in an intuitive way, or in the place i want them. So what the heck why not customise...again this is limited...fo example how do i get the address bar above the main bar....or have some of things in the main bar in the address bar. No No and no again, this browser is so frustrating for a mac user when compared to safari, camino or firefox, I am just off to try omniweb (but.... eek that costs money). At the end of a days experimenting with it to try and get it how I wanted I gave up...why are these people so obsessed with imposing ideas that people dont want. Its a good fast browser but what good is that if ease of use is so bad...so many search panels i didnt know what when or which to search for...Mac...its the ease of use and the GUI feel....I what dont they get about ease of use? MACMEND Most emailers get a foothold by being able to import from other email applications, this just doesn't cut it at the first hurdle. I have 9 active accounts, rules, signatures and thousands of emails and addresses. No way am I going to do that all manually to find out its not as good as mail.app (Version 1.5.0.7)

GAOSHAN Ask and you shall receive... RsyncxAnd here is how to use it: http://www.labf.org/~egon/mac_backup/.Note that this backup option (which I use) costs $99.95 less than Synchronize Pro. Also note that the directions on making use of Rsyncx clock in at about 9 pages. Synchronize Pro's directions are over 70 pages. (Version 5.0b3)

MACMEND Eeeek!...Urrrggh, another one of these utilties that looks extremely useful but is very hard to understand, I think it should be compulsory for all development teams to have a written communications expert. I always download these things and think great just what I want and then give up because the manual doesn't tell me what I ned to know or verges into geekdom...all commands from terminal and BSD or Linux terminology. I like my software and hardware demythologised, I don't want to have to learn another language to understand something on my computer. Sorry guys this is probababaly one amazing piece of software but to cut to the chase as a mac user I want it explained in 7 easy steps or a great GUI. (Version 3.0.3)

MACMEND I originally used iblog in its early days after finding the php stled blogs too difiicult to set up and configure in a way I wanted. The I left it behind and went for a php version, 6 months later I am back, why, because its simple easy to configure, stable secure, all the search engines pick up all my pages. has come on leaps and bounds in configurability, in feel and style, it has since I came back to it never gone wrong or lost my pages or destroyed my site keep going guys it can only get even better (Version 1.4.1)

JUPITER Omensoft is currently available from devhood at http://www.devhood.com/tools/tool_details.aspx?tool_id=253 I have been using a similar but simpler tree menu on my intranet, which was originally produced by Marcelo Franco on and available from http://www.codeproject.com/jscript/treemenu.asp. I have improved it slightly, and if you e-mail me on treemenu@jup-it-er.co.uk, I will send you a copy. (Version 1.0)

Firefox | Nov 3 2004 |
MACMEND I have to admit this is the best browser to date, the safari based browsers do not have enough features, and this... once you have downloaded and installed plugins (i found it easier to download with safari and install via firefox as I kept getting download errors) it is a great browser, speed differences are marginal, but the additions are great. Apple could do well to follow their lead and allow a plugin aspect for safari that would allow the creation of additional features. I am impressed (Version 1.0 RC1)

It's donation-ware and works 10 times better than this. (Version 2.0)

Clone X | Mar 11 2005 |
IMPISH No, Carbon Copy Cloner can't write to a CD. Also, CCC results in myriad folders and files in a dizzying array... instead of a one-folder bootable system. CCC is well-done (Mike Bombich is top-notch), but Clone X does more with a clean interface and results in an easily recognized hierarchy on your Restore CD. (Version 2.0)

MACMEND I too have used this now and then, and never really got to like it, its "OK" but not really quite right, maybe it tries to do too much, I started to use the excellent and free 'dragon drop', which gives you some of the tabs and drawer folders at the bottom of the screen of OS9 ....the link on this site doesn't work so you have to get it from version tracker. MACMEND I do like this script GUI and constantly come back to it. However I prefer macaroni for the basic cron jobs as it automates the process, the script would really rock if has some simple automation of some of the tasks. STEVENBENNETT We're trying to track down the problems with this device -- it *should* work with the information I have about it, but since it's a Europe-only device, I don't have one here and it's not clear what's happening on your system. Could you send a beta feedback email to the tech support email address mentioned in the Read Me file with information about your system? Include the serial number of your device so we know which release you have. -->Steve Bennett (Version 2.5b2)

MACMEND the one problem with this is the drawing part of the package, it is still not as good as the original macdraw or ClasrisDraw mainly because you cannot draw "to scale" as in 1:20, you can scale the drawing byu increasing or decreasing in size and it has some vector tools, but it doesn't dso the trick.
