Pirx, no offense but I think you're making TOO much of an issue on this. The only indefensible position on your part is attempting to put the blame on the software company. Yes, they did provide a direct means of downloading an application to "advertise" a newer version but as Yazsoft noted, it was in bold print. I see nothing morally wrong for them to actually promote a better version while making it optional. After all, even Apple has done so by making the user become aware of a new iLife suite but of course two wrongs do not make a right. The burden, however, would be on you to demonstrate that it is wrong. To people who like to know about new versions of speed download, would surely appreciate this notification. I think this is simply a matter of subjectiveness. Since Apple provides notifications, should you not be fair and stop using their products? Let's put it this way, if I am currently watching a DVD and it advertises part 2, and I buy it, would they be at fault here? It was completely optional and hence, it is quite defensible. To be honest, I haven't purchased Speed Download due to money issues but I don't think you're argument holds any water. A friend of mine, however, has had very good experience with their support and the application. Even if they did wrong, would it make sense to stop using a good application? |
