MAC808 In my opinion, MPEG2 Works 4's real strength is its simplicity. When I need to convert a video I reach for ffmpegX first, as I’ve spent many hours figuring out its quirks and usually get good results. Although I also have MPEG Streamclip and a number of other utilities, sometimes I run across a problem video for which figuring out a solution takes more time than I’m willing to invest. Often, MPEG2 Works 4 simply works with these videos. Conversion times are longer than using ffmpeg, of course, and I agree with downunderstew that the interface could be better. But the resulting video quality is great, and I find it’s a valuable part of my video conversion toolkit. The author, Serbian, is also responsive and courteous.
