MAC4DREW  Anyone who claims this app erased their data is careless.

Seriously. There is a very clear option to erase data, followed by a warning box, followed by an authentication box that pops up before the program deletes anything. The only reason this program WOULD ever delete anything is if you use a disk with files on it for the Target drive. The program is extremely straightforward and logical.

This program just works. However, if you're the kind of person who clicks "OK" on dialog boxes without reading them, you may want to skip it.

MAC4DREW  I like it. Fast, clean, and stable on an Intel Mac, just like AIM for OS 9 used to be on my old iBook. No ads, just pure classic AIM goodness.

They have attained almost feature parity with the previous Mac version, which is also very cool. Some things missing: notifications and the ability to change sounds (which I believe can both be added via a plugin on the AIM Lite website http://x.aim.com/laim/ ) and video/audio chat, which cannot be added.

I use Adium for most of my instant messaging, but it still doesn't handle Direct IM or AIM chats very well. It crashes ALL THE TIME for me.

If you ever use Direct IM or AIM Chats, you should be pleasantly surprised by this little program. It hasn't crashed once since I started using it.

Only problem is, it only seems possible to save images received from Direct IM as low-quality GIFs. It prints images on the screen in full quality but then won't save them as anything but a low quality GIF.

Please, AOL, update this some more... there are some people out there who appreciate it.

MAC4DREW  Well worth the download.

If this thing continues to work as well as it has in the first two hours I've spent with it, it will change the way I use my MacBook Pro. It's now cooled down to the point that I have no problem putting it on my lap. Everyone who has a MacBook Pro should download this program immediately.

I have but one problem with this program. When you open it for the first time it just vanishes from the dock, which made me try to open it again, only to figure out two minutes later that it was in my menu bar. A startup screen of some sort on the first run would be helpful and much appreciated.

Other than that a great program and revolutionary for MacBook Pro owners.

MAC4DREW  I'm on a MacBook Pro. Installer said it would not install on my computer. I was able to open and install it manually with Pacifist. Once installed, it worked fine.
