LUX  An update to my earlier review nearly 2 years ago. DEVONagent Research assistant and the way it works seamlessly with the browser is fantastic - 'nuff said but DEVONagent browser hasn't been my default browser for some time since I discovered iCab, Flock and the much improved Safari in Leopard. It's also nearly 2 years since the developers said a 'new non-metal-non-Safari look was planned for a future release of the browser - or at least the option to change the old and tired brushed-metal look to an aqua / unified look along with being able to customise the toolbar. As it is, DEVONagent browser looks more like Safari than Safari does. I also don't like [since v2.3], the appearance of a national flag in the toolbar to represent the language of the web-page - I think I'm capable of recognising the English language without the prompt of the flag of St George, that symbol of English racial purity so beloved of little englanders and the right wing political fascist party the BNP..

LUX  I was quite insistent in my criticism of the new CopyPaste Pro, especially the browser which I thought left quite a lot to be desired when comparing it with using the old version's two palettes. I didn't mention this previously, but I really didn't like the browser at all and how it operated. But after using CopyPaste Pro every day for a week or two, in projects for hours at a time, I have to say now that I am completely won over - it is so fast and along with being able to access individual clips and clip archives from the menu bar, I don't see how CopyPaste Pro can be faulted.

LUX  Well you could read my contribution as a crummy review and I could justify it by saying I'd had a bad day, but when I tried to "archive all clips in history" all clips in history were not archived, resulting in the loss of clips which were vital to the project I was working on.

I also referred to my being unable to find the "archives folder" where I am told it should be. I did nothing unusual when I installed copypaste - I just copied it to the applications folder, so why that particular folder was absent I have no idea. I'm also disappointed that yType is no longer a part of CopyPaste Pro.

I agree that the pro version is significantly different from copypaste x and thinking it would be similar has obviously impeded my getting used to using it. I also agree that since I bought this version, the developer has been very responsive to support requests.

I have to say that compared to the rest, and I've tried them all, CopyPaste has always been the best clipboard utility and I'm pleased to see that the developer is serious about its development.

Since installing the update I can report that I am having no problems whatever with CopyPaste Pro.

I apologise for my previous review which was really a lack of understanding on my part and had little to do with reviewing the app.

LUX  According to the copypaste online manual: Clip Archive and Clip Recorder folders should be installed in CopyPaste Clips in Preferences. However, no separate Archive folder has been installed on my hd the CopyPaste Clips folder contains the individual archives in separate folders with the Clip Recorder folder.

The quicker this mess is removed from my system the better. Thanks.

LUX  Now I can't delete clip archives - deleted archives keep coming back in a jumbled fashion. It is going to take hours for me to sort out the mess created by this app in order to ensure that I haven't lost any of the work I actually managed to get done.

I really wish I hadn't bought this - I think I would like a refund.

LUX  A previous customer of earlier versions, I liked Copypaste a lot - I didn't think I could ever do without it, until Leopard when it became quite unreliable, and I received no response from the developer to my emails. So- I began looking for alternatives - I bought iClip, iClipboard, CuteClips and others, none the perfect clipboard utility. After evaluating pro 1.0.1 for a couple of weeks I'm surprised and dismayed to find there are no discounts for loyal customers, it also seems a tad too expensive, considering ytype is to be a stand alone app.

LUX  I purchased a reg key for SOHO Notes 6 in December 2007 - 3 months of less than trouble-free use, eg. erratic display, new notes overwriting previous notes, less than helpful support from the developer etc. and now I'm being asked to fork out $25 for version 7. Needless to say, I won't be upgrading or even using this app again. DEVON technologies software (DEVONThink / DEVONNote) is far superior and much better value for money.

LUX  I bought a reg key for this app in Sept 2006. Have just downloaded this latest update v.2.5 to be told I have been running a demo version for 37 days. Subsequently, my reg details are not accepted - they are deemed invalid.

LUX  Ok, now this app has become more of a hindrance than a help. Since following the suggestions of chronos support, iClipboard no longer copies text using edit in the menu. Also, I had about 90 clips which have all seemingly disappeared. The duplicates in SOHO notes - some of the text clips have overwritten others. A big mess all round. So, I have to revise my earlier review and give this 2 stars. I certainly won't be using iClipboard until it's much more stable and so doesn;t interfere with my workflow.

LUX  In order to reply to the response from support, I have to submit another question on their website - this is irritating and I should be able to reply to the email sent by chronos support. The suggestions - delete app, reinstall, delete pref files etc. and try again makes no difference. Yes I can edit a clip of text in iClipboard if I copy it from a text editor, but that's it - all other clips cannot be edited.

LUX  This developer is operating fraudulently - he/she/they will take your money and supply a serial which will (as in my case) work for a limited period of time only before ceasing to work altogether. My email requests for support/help/information concerning this problem have been ignored - so much for the meaning of DVD and it seems there's nothing I can do about it...ho-hum.

LUX  I also own cuteclips , ipaste, iclip, copypaste - I used copypaste exclusively in Tiger, however in Leopard copypaste has become unreliable. Emails to support at copypaste have gone unanswered. iClip doesn't display rtf in Leopard, some text is randomly unreadable and the app randomly crashes. So I took advantage of the discount price and bought iClipboard and it's the best of the bunch - it does exactly what it promises and everything I want it to including pasting clips into text editors etc. Very pleased with iClipboard.

LUX  I enjoyed using CandyBar 2 in Tiger and thought the price very reasonable for a nice little personal pref app. However, I too have got used to Leopard icons and find the price hike for the upgrade too steep and the discounts offered too little. As a result, I shan't be using CandyBar 3.

LUX  I have never experienced anything like this with any other developer. After a series of nonsense emails, Mr Watanabe claims, after I opened a dispute through PayPal, that the license option was sent "the instant I paid" while stating originally, that he had received no such payment.

I have not received any such license option and Mr Watanabe does not seem to understand the meaning of the phrase, "please refund my money". As a result, I have escalated the dispute to a PayPal claim. Mr Watanabe appears to enjoy playing silly spam games - he is also dishonest.

LUX  Didn't get a chance to try the demo out. Downloaded it a couple of days ago and the only thing I ever see when I launch this app is a purchase/enter key window. How long is the trial period anyway? However, based on the glowing reviews of this software I thought I'd buy it. But I can't do that either. Spent ages on the website trying to and had to give up in the end. Received email referring to the order but according to the accounts page, there is no order. Maybe a blessing though - it is rather expensive. Emailed the company.

LUX  This app is so fantastic I don't know how I ever managed without it. This new version is also far superior to 1.4. The friendly support is second to none - the developers really do care. There is nothing negative I can say about it - although I suspect it will, if it's possible, just go from strength to strength and get better and better. Good value. An all-round great package. Using the NetShade proxy I navigated to a website to register on a forum. I filled in all my details on the registration page, clicked 'register' and immediately a banner appeared which said, "This IP Address Is Banned!" I tried it 3 more times with the same result.

So I chose a 3star public proxy and again entered my details into the registration page and this time registration was successful.

LUX  Oh dear...bought a license key, [so I could use NetShade's dedicated proxy sever], unlocked the app and it worked for about 10 minutes before I was 'reminded' that I was running a trial copy. Emailed the developer - received no response. So, entered the license key again - all seemed okay and using NetShade's proxy, keyed the password into Safari which worked. Clicked 'verify' and it seemed that all was working as it should - fine and dandy - until I visited a website which informed me that the IP address which I was reporting, i.e. NetShade's proxy server, is, yes, you can believe it - BANNED. hehe
