ST00P!D M0NK3Y Parallels is a bit finicky with games, but whatever works. Boot Camp will always have the best performance with games, but sometimes I just don't want to boot into Windows to play games. At least you found an alternative. =)

LEIFH I'm trying to record my keynote because the built-in recording feature doesn't record my transitions but this uses 150% CPU according to activity monitor, and that's on Intermediate Codec (supposedly the least CPU intensive). I've tried everything else on the list and they all run at over 100% so my keynote lags. I'm using an intel imac (1.83 ghz) btw.

BUGSMAN (I KILL GERMS) Audio Hijack does all of this, and much more. I love the Mac community for its development of great freeware and shareware apps, but folks, you have to do your homework! AudioHijack is way ahead of this. Drop it, find a real niche, and then blow our socks off.

LEIFH Why would you need both? Bootcamp and Parallels do the same thing except with Parallels you can run windows and mac at the same time. It's probably Bootcamp's fault. It's a beta. I hated Bootcamp when I had it. It slowed down my computer so much.

SCOTTYARCH Boot Camp doesn't slow down your computer, it's a separate partion and Windows cannot run while you're in OS X. If anything, you probably gave too much space to the Windows partition and left too little space on your Mac OS X partition, leaving it not operating space. Also, as of yet, Parallels is still not an option for gaming. Let me know when it works for than, then we'll talk about $80 for it.

LEIFH Okay I don't mean to completely diss Harmonic and I hate doing this but that is the only other program I've used for downloading lyrics. pearLyrics is great. I was using Harmonic before this but it lost it's magic. It stopped getting lyrics. But this...this is is amazing. Incredibly fast, and very compatible (not so much with Danish songs but that was expected and actually slightly better than Harmonic in that way too). It comes with both an app and widget and searches 7 sites and google, compared to Harmonics one site search. It also has a reject button, just in case it came up with the wrong lyrics. One thing I hated about Harmonic was for some songs if I had Simon & Garfunkel instead of Simon and Garfunkel then it would come up with an error and I would have to change the artist, let it download the lyrics and change it back. Pear allows you to change it from within the widget/app. Anyway, my only suggestions are to work a little on the interface and make the app a universal binary.

LEIFH I love this thing! You barely even notice it when it's running. I had to use this while I was using snes9x. For some reason my computer thought I wasn't doing anything so every 10 minutes I had to move the mouse (I was using a controller). Then I tried this; worked like a charm!

LEIFH You don't have to re-install. What I did was put in "Mac OSX Install Disc 1" and opened "Optional Installs". When you get to the page with the checkboxes, click the arrow next to Applications and check X11. Install.

ZETSURIN Ahhh, got to love the Mac owner complacency combined with a dash of smugness. There is little to stop a virus and or malware propagating within your home directory, so don't get too complacent just yet. As the OSX platform increases exposure you WILL have to start worrying about this.

LEIFH Stickies is FREE. So basically you pay $20 for "sharing" when you could easily do that through e-mail, text messaging, AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo... I could go on for a while. You could buy over 1000 post-its for this price.
