LEFTUNKNOWN  I installed this the other day and now my trackpad doesn't work like it use to. I cannot check to turn on anything under the "two fingers" section except for "secondary click" (which is the only thing that works like before). I can't pinch open and close or rotate, but I can scroll even though the option to turn it on/off doesn't exist. Also, I can't turn on "three finger" functionality.

LEFTUNKNOWN  ya, i should have done that... although a clean install was VERY good for her jam packed HD, and I was able to NOT install some of the unnecessary apps which gave her more space in the end. Now it runs like new. We just elected to NOT reinstall the security update and still we're extremely hesitant to.

LEFTUNKNOWN  This update came up on my wives ibook G4 Software Updates and she downloaded as we all do whatever SU says. The download hung up or quit during "optimizing system performance" and she restarted the computer and tried again with "success." Now, the ibook is junked up. itunes & safari won't open (who knows what else). The menu bar is missing airport and time/date. I try to verify the HD from the install disc and all I get are errors. Currently trying to run disk warrior but its hanging up and says "speed inhibited by disk malfunction." I've read that even if i reformat the HD, the issue might just return (i.e. never go away). If anyone can help, please do.

AETNARIA  I'd suggest you download the combo update for your current OS version (10.4.11 I'm assuming), and reinstall that over what you have right now. Then go ahead and run the other updates (without interruption this time, hopefully). It's worth a shot at least, and is easier than wiping the HD and doing a clean install.
