LATESTER  Seems more likely that it's just changing existing preference settings in some .plist file...

LATESTER  Wow, your home directory disappeared upon install and re-appear after uninstall? Bizarre! I see your identical comment over on macupdate.com too. I have to wonder whether this is a system-specific failure (e.g., interaction w/some other issues) rather than something that the SW might do to others, but I guess it comes down to... YMMV... Sorry you had a bad experience. My IT folks provide this for Macs, and I have not heard any issues w/it, FWIW.

I did have to wonder about your mention of the fact that you couldn't see contents of a user folder when logged in as another user. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? I mean... Security...? When logged in a "guest profile" I would not expect to see the contents of ANY other users!! That's a... FEATURE, not a BUG!!!! But as to whether or not you had problems with your main account after the install, I leave that to you of course.......

I hope that you can elucidate if I am mistaken on this... As I said, this is the AV package available to me w/out personal cost, so I'm hoping it's stable!

LATESTER  Thanks for the tip, I couldn't remember which key it was (tried F4, oops!), but at this point I have "successfully" booted even w/out keyboard & trackpad, so it "reverts" back to a post-update (still unusable) version... It's funny, the power key works to initiate a shutdown just fine, but as to the keyboard, even the caps lock light doesn't turn on when depressed... sigh... Thanks for taking the time to post the tip though, hope it helps anyone else who'se caught by this problem!

LATESTER  [posted part of this in reply to another review too, but I guess it should have its own post...]

Boot Camp was working for me with XP Pro on my MacBook Pro Core Duo also...

But during the v1.2b driver installation from the new CD burned from this update, installation halted after a while saying that Windows was shutting it down to prevent damage!

Rebooted into the MS disk utility which ran and reported many problems with drivers (something like invalid 1st blocks?)... After boot finally finished, there was NOTHING from mouse OR keyboard, so I can't even re-install drivers from the CD, as I can't click or hit enter!! Multiple restarts, etc., no change. My Win XP installation is out of business! That's a pretty serious problem! Wow, guess I have to go back to the office IT folks to get back in business, as they kept the Win XP Pro installation CD........
