LACWBO The new version 2 still contains a bug which always returns you to the top of a page instead of the position of the selected link. Firefox and Safari do not exhibit this behavior. (Version 2.0)

LACWBO Beware, this application has not been updated to be compatible with OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard. For as long as Apple has had copies for developers, it's incredible that this Vendor has not seen fit to upgrade this application. (Version 5.0)

LACWBO It's incredible that for as long as everyone has known Apple was developing OS X 10.6 that Norton has not updated their virus application to support it. I would recommend that everyone switch to Virus Barrier X5 which has been updated. (Version 11.0.1)

LACWBO 10.5 has been out for a sufficient amount of time to be as bug free as 10.4. And Snow Leopard will be released before long. It's about time to retire your 10.4 system and update to the latest. If I were the developer, I would not waste my time redoing this app for 10.4. (Version 2.2)

CheckUp | Jan 3 2009 |
LACWBO The new version seems to perform as advertised except that it still refuses to detect my WiFi networks. This problem was first noted when versions 2.0b1 and 2.0b2 were introduced. The old version 1 detected the networks. Can't understand why version 2 can't. (Version 2.0)

LACWBO The latest version 2.0b3 no longer crashes on my system. The only problem I have with the latest version is that I cannot detect the Wi Fi networks of which one is mine. I have informed the developer of the problem. I can detect the networks using a previous version 1.xxxx (Version 2.0b3)

LACWBO This is a correction to my previous post re: crash at startup. I installed version 2.0b2. The previous version 1.2.1 all worked fine. The latest version crashes at the opening screen. After removing all the CheckUp files and reinstalling, it works for a few times then crashes upon startup of CheckUp. App4mac has been informed of the problem. Still no reply from app4mac. I would reinstall version 1.2.1 again, it worked but I can't find it anywhere. (Version 2.0b2)

Opera | Oct 22 2008 |
LACWBO The only reason that I am not using Opera as my preferred browser is that I cannot access my credit card information on www.citicards.com. The log in page does not accept any inputs; I therefore cannot log in. No problem with other https:// sites I use such as Fidelity. (Version 9.61)

LACWBO This browser is much faster than Firefox or Safari. Except for Camino, it renders my.yahoo.com pages faster than any of the rest. I also like the way it handles cookies. Keep up the good work. (Version 1.1.5)

Apple Safari | Jun 13 2007 |
LACWBO Seems faster overall than the previous version. However; it has a problem with the site: my.yahoo.com, keeps complaining that a script on the page is making Safari unresponsive. Clicking "continue" loads the page but during each refresh of the page the same thing happens. No problem with other browsers---Sea Monkey, Camino, etc. The previous version of Safari did not complain, just loaded the page slowly. I guess I'll continue to use Sea Monkey. (Version 3.0b)

Retrospect | Apr 19 2007 |
LACWBO EMC-Dantz has to get their heads out of the sand and: 1. Write it as a universal application for the Intel Macs and 2. Allow bootable copies to be made. Until then there are many others which cost less and make bootable copies and are universal applications. I own Retrospect but no longer use it. (Version 6.1.10.100)

LACWBO iGet is an amazing application. Something Apple should have built into OSX. I downloaded the application and was able to connect to another Mac on my Airport LAN in less than 5 minutes. I transferred files in both directions flawlessly and fast over my LAN. The price does seem high; however. (Version 2.5.4)

Now X | Jan 29 2006 |
LACWBO Now Up-to-Date has had one hugh flaw in in since the OS X version has come out. You cannot rely on the alarms. I have a recurring daily alarm which I use to remind me to take medication. It alarmed properly for five days and then just quit. It still shows on the calendar as a "to do" but will not provide an alarm. I have tried the save as and made sure that the primary (my only Now file) still is checked, it is. But no luck on the daily alarm. In the past I have just started over with a new alarm and it too works for a few days. And to think I wasted my money again on this new version! Never again! I have tried various "fixes" is recommended by the developer, they too work for a few days and then fail. I would recommend that you flush this app until the developer can figure out how to make it work properly. I am running Tiger, the latest release. (Version 5.1.1)

ONOMATOPOESIE Hi! Is there a solution to the cmd + left arrow problem? I got used to mozilla and I cannot (still) be used to seamonkey, as the feature connected to the cmd + left arrow is so useless (changes tabs). I changed the preferences of the scroll-wheel, but that is not nearly as good as he original solution. (Version 1.0b)

LACWBO This has to be one of the most stupid programs I've seen! 1. Widgets don't take up any space on your screen unless you choose. A little black circle on your dock is all that exists, unless you desire otherwise. 2. Spotlight can be very useful and, if you don't want to use it don't. What's a little blue circle on you menu bar hurt? Tampering with system software is what gets most of us in to trouble, especially when updating to the latest Apple versions of their software or security upgrades. (Version 1.0.3a)

GRUMPYTICO Spotlight's index can take lots of space. I personally hate spotlight, Windows search is probably less annoying. As far as finding a program stupid because YOU do find any use for it - no comment. (Version 1.0.3a)

DisableTigerFeatures | Jun 5 2007 |
KIWIIANO I'm inclined to drop Spotlight because I keep getting negatives for items I know are there, stuff that is in plain view, even when I copy & paste the name into Spotlight. I can't trust it. Whereas, EasyFind (for all it's limitations) has never missed yet. I'd get rid of the blue dot simply because space on my 12" iBook's menubar is precious, only essential items are allowed there. However, I do take your point about dicking around with OS items, especially when updates come thick and fast. (Version 1.0.3a)

Now X | Dec 17 2005 |
LACWBO This is the worst PIM I have ever tried. Back when I had OS8, it worked great. Now: 1. No alarm dialog appears 2. When you click on the to do or other items on the menu bar, it open Now Up-to-Date but you still have to select the To Do option. Why not just open Now Up-to-Date. it's the same thing. I am running Tiger 10.4.3, but had the same problems under Panther. Since TurboTax also has problems under Tiger, I am convinced the Intuit programmers need to brush up on their Mac skills. I'm going back to ical, not the best; but I can rely on receiving alarms. Not so with this version of Now Up-to Date! (Version 5.1)

LACWBO I'm disappointed in this version of Firefox.
Problems with the scroll feature:
1. The page up and page down don't work at all.
2. The smooth scrolling function seems to have no effect at all. Then that's probably because the page up and down don't work.
Scrolling worked OK on the previous version 1.0.7. Now they've managed to break it. (Version 1.5)

BILL This is an extremely useful program. The latest version 5 was installed without a hitch and it was simple to update the database so that it could be used with version 5. The readme file should be more explicit on where the old data base is located; however. (Version 5.0.5)

LACWBO This program worked fine under OS9.2.2. However under 10.3.4 & 10.3.5, it is totally useless for repeating time alerts. It works OK for all day events; but if set for a specific time it maybe works once but will not repeat on a daily basis. I have followed all the hints given by the developer but to no avail. In fact, my latest email to the developer re: the problem has not even been answered and that was two weeks ago. Advice: flush this program until the developer figures out how to make it work properly under OS 10.3.5. iCal and Entourage work just fine. (Version 4.5.3)
