Type: ReviewDate: 14 Mar 2008 23:32Some of these reviews, I think, are alittle off base. Here is what I think is an objective review:
Layout -- easy, coherent and simple.
Tracking clients - integrates with Address Book. easy as pie.
Tracking projects --- good. navigation of adding events could be made easier.
Invoicing -- a couple of clicks and you've emailed an invoice to click. Nice.
Customizing templates -- err.. not much fun. Be sure to read their guide first.
Recording payments -- needs work here. There's a few ways to do it and its not clear how outstanding balances are managed.
Stability - no problems here.
Overall - its simple and mostly intuitive. Fully usable for a small business. Has some rough edges but workable with extra time.
To the previous grumpy folks: Give IGG a break. They're a small shop yet they are quick to respond to forum posts and emails. iBiz might have suffered lately since they've been pouring their time into iBank 3.
iBiz will be 5-star product after some reworking of the template and payment pieces. If you're a small biz and bill hourly for projects, this is a great solution and I don't hesitate to recc it.

Type: CommentsDate: 1 Feb 2008 14:04Wouldn't be great if Steermouse could store your preferences in .Mac? Then, it would serve as a "backup" when/if you wipe out your machine, or if just wanted to use your preferences on another computer (that also has Steermouse).
..just an idea.. anyone agree?

Type: CommentsDate: 14 Jan 2008 22:52The reconciling of statements feature really needs to be tweaked. It especially needs to offer feedback - cleared deposits and cleared payments - so that the user can easily compare it to paper statements. The current implementation is too obscure.

Type: CommentsDate: 12 Oct 2007 16:06So before I buy this software, can anyone confirm if v2.5.1 is friendly with 4th, 5th gen ipods and itunes 7.4+? Are the past issues that people are mentioning, fixed?
Thanks.

Type: ReviewDate: 3 Oct 2007 15:22For a compression utility, I tried them all. This one, by far, is the best.
Springy has all of the utilities/features I need for dealing with compressed while while at the same time being so integrated with the OS that you don't feel like you're using a seperate program.
Worth every penny.

Type: CommentsDate: 23 Sep 2007 20:33stability problems here as well. Too bad, UI-wise it looks really good. I suspect we'll have to wait another few revisions before its worth another look.
Best wishes on further development.

Please, please, please continue to develop this app! I really want to bond further with my pet lobster.

Type: CommentsDate: 10 Jan 2007 13:55The newest revision and the current design are a great improvement. I now consider MultiAlarm an essential app for any Macbook owner. Kudos!

Type: CommentsDate: 2 Jan 2007 23:42The default list of categories needs major attention. There's outright duplicates as well as items too similar to warrant separate entries. Descriptions are missing in some places and renaming poorly worded entries need renaming. Overall, if the developers are going to place importance on the category schema (as stated in the help file), then the categories need some fine tuning.

Type: TroubleshootingDate: 7 Dec 2006 15:04So I downloaded Reader so that I can markup and highlight portions of documents, EXCEPT, it seems that every PDF I have is protected against commenting. Even the PDF's that I created through OS X's print to PDF feature are protected against commenting.
Can anyone verify this? Or reccommend a way to remove security from unecrypted and non-password protected PDFs? Thanks!

Type: ReviewDate: 1 Oct 2006 00:20myNotes is looking good. Ease of use is king for note taking and this app has that. The three pane view is perfect for organization.
With that said, I think this app could use some "love."
1. more robust bullet list control.
2. options for a font/formating/bullet controls via toolbar or box
3. UI tweaks (double click the notes field to start a new note)
4. maybe some kind of docking ability?
5. .Mac sync
I've tried a few note organization tools and I can definitely say this one should be on your consideration list.

Type: CommentsDate: 30 Sep 2006 01:04Am I the only one, or do "real" groups for organizing references a better idea than "virtual" groups?
(I'm talking about where all of the references reside in "All Publications" and groups contain only pointers to the reference.)
Otherwise, great program. When considering price, Bibdesk is better than Endnote by a long shot.

Type: ReviewDate: 29 Sep 2006 16:09This software is truly a time saver, useful, and essential for protecting your identity. The new design is clear and easy to use.
If there are any "cons," one might point out some UI quirkness. However, none of that is show-stopping.
The developers are very responsive to feedback and passionate about making their software top-notch. A definite "+" here.
I had only one question about its usability that I didn't know what to do (disable Firefox auto password complete). My only reference to the help proved successful in answering my question. 1Passwd's help feature is excellent and well written.
While I hate to suggest it, the concept behind 1Passwd is so critical that it should probably be built into Mac OS.

Type: CommentsDate: 18 Sep 2006 01:49Folks, check out unarchiver. I think you'll find it better in every aspect over Stuffit.
![]()
Type: ReviewDate: 18 Sep 2006 01:45This is how a unarchiver should work -- seemless, simple, and unobstrusive. This piece of software is a 5 star without hestitation. Say goodbye to Stuffit, a bloated piece of software.

Type: ReviewDate: 14 Sep 2006 13:53Great idea! Implemented perfectly!
The author releases an update to support iTunes 7 the day after 7 comes out. Now that's impressive.

Type: CommentsDate: 25 Aug 2006 15:58Yeah, funny that you mention that. It seems LCC supports the MX500 but not the seemingly identical MX518. Does anyone know of a way to "trick" LCC or the OS into believing my MX518 is a MX500?
Argh. Logitech is so lame.

Type: CommentsDate: 25 Aug 2006 03:05Can anyone confirm if Logitech added support for additional mice other than the ones stated above? (ideally, the MX518)?

Type: ReviewDate: 10 Aug 2006 01:13Neooffice is a great concept and it's moving along fantastically, however, I believe the next 1-2 revisions of the whole open office project will "make or break" it.
My experience with NeoOffice:
--As far as usability, Calc did some weird things (like paste a change I made in one cell to the same cell in other sheets). The problem is, many of the features are poorly documented or labeled.
--Another quick impression is that he presentation app is slow. It takes forever to open a 100meg presentation I've been working with.
--Compatibility and maintaining formatting is execellent.
--an additional "create a PDF" function. So..umm...why? Isn't this functionality built into OS X?
In summary, the chaps who work on NO should rethink about the presentation layer ot the app. Should it mimic MS Office, or should the presentation layer evolve into something more intuitive? Should they pack every feature into NO, or sould they make core functionality rock-solid, fast, and efficient?
I believe its the answers to these questions that will make or break the OO project.
Good luck folks, you got a wonderful thing going!

Type: ReviewDate: 9 Aug 2006 00:25For a PIM/information manager app, Yojimbo is definetly your best bet. It's also there, also perfect. Here's what I think Yojimbo needs to be considered for a perfect 5 (and my registration $).
1. A more Itunes like interface. (the items go directly into genre-like folders/collection, not just collections which are smartfolders).
2. Fix .Mac syncing. (where do the files go? they're not in the documents folder like other programs that sync to .Mac).
3. A global password. Enter once to view your collection (but with the ability to set an idle-lockout time limit).
4. more template types.
and of course,
5. spotlight support.

Type: ReviewDate: 6 Aug 2006 17:36Strange implementation (menu layouts, use of passwords). Seems to experience "false alarms."
Good work though. Keep up the effort.

Type: CommentsDate: 31 Jul 2006 16:46I checked out the demo and it looks great. When I see an update (specifically, a Universal port), I'm buying it. When's this sucker going to get updated?

Type: ReviewDate: 28 Jul 2006 00:19Great program for syncing or copying data from point "A" to point "B." I find the performance great and pretty simple to use. Rules and options for individual jobs should cover the needs for most users.
The only drawbacks I see are the synchronization options are slightly confusing (Mirror vs backup vs blind backup) and the scheduling window (not intuitive).
I reccommend buying this product - the free choices in this category (file sync software) are not up to speed.
