KINGADROCK Good start on a very promising application. I'm sticking with my current invoicing application for now but I will keep an eye on this. - I love ability to save items, and the item list is incredibly handy - Documents list should be tabbed like Clients and Items (no big deal though) - Price "after tax" is a nice touch in item listings - Lacks Address Book support - Needs a little more in the way of invoice customization - Lacks Reporting Functions - A little pricey when compared to more mature applications out there (Version 1.0.4)

FontExplorer X Pro | Feb 28 2009 |
KINGADROCK Nobody likes to pay for software, especially software that was once free. Put this in perspective though, FontExplorer X is the best overall font management software on the market, do you really blame them for charging? I don't; I just bought my license today. (Version 2.0.1)

ShoveBox | Feb 16 2009 |
KINGADROCK Great little application. It works well but it has some minor quirks I'd like to see addressed: - I'd like to be able to change the folder icons. - I'd love to be able to sort the folders and create sub folders. - Icons are weak and blah. Again, those are the minor issues I have with the app. Overall it's very good. It's snappy quick and seems to be very stable. And I love the simplicity of it. I'm a Yojimbo user, I'd like to switch to ShoveBox full time but the thought of transferring a thousand Yojimbo clips into ShoveBox is holding me back. (Version 1.6.2)

KINGADROCK COOKIE08, Actually FVDG is right. FontAgent Pro is the only (of the major) Font Managers that handles system fonts the way it does. There is an option to not handle them at all which is the safest way to go since they are never accidentally overwritten, deactivated or removed. (Version 1.0.3)

Fontcase | Jan 26 2009 |
KINGADROCK I don't know where you're training but that's not the way it works in the real world. If a client comes in with a print job and it has 10 fonts in it, and it takes 2 minutes to find and activate each one, that's 20 minutes wasted. Using Collections sounds like a wonderful idea, but you can't have Collections set up for jobs created elsewhere. (Version 1.0.3)

Fontcase | Jan 26 2009 |
KINGADROCK Nice application with a clean and intuitive interface, but without auto-activation it's pretty useless to me. Spending several minutes at a time to manually locate and activate fonts before beginning to work on a project is not practical. Add auto-activation and you've got something here. (Version 1.0.3)

KINGADROCK This is the kind of application that once you try it, it makes you wonder how you lived without it. Brilliant, and incredibly useful. There's nothing else like it. (Version 2.8.3b9)

Billings | Sep 22 2008 |
KINGADROCK I've tried most of the invoicing applications for the Mac. I've owned plenty too: iWork (iBiz), Studiometry, and iRatchet. I found iBiz to be buggy; Studiometry was convoluted and confusing; iRatchet was very promising but lacked proper reporting functions. When I found Billings (2.0) I was immediately impressed. It's the cleanest and most intuitive invoicing application on the Mac. It made invoicing easy, but it was not without problems. I had no issues with bugs or memory leaks, but as others have said it was difficult to edit invoices. I struggled through that once and when they were to my liking I never dealt with them again. Version 3 of Billings addresses the biggest problem I had with 2.0, it was not obvious to see who owed me money. Now that very critical information is right at my fingertips. The new reporting features are also improved, and I haven't messed with the new template system. The layout was great before, and they've tweaked it to be even better. Overall a very solid update. Nobody likes to spend $35, but $35 to upgrade a program that helps me make money is well worth the price in my opinion. (Version 3.0.1)

TideApp | Sep 2 2008 |
KINGADROCK Very nice layout. Clean design that looks great next to Apple's Weather Widget. I wish it had the option to show two days of tides though. Perhaps arrows at the bottom to view the next and previous day's tide information. (Version 1.3)

SuperDocker | May 25 2008 |
KINGADROCK I maintain quite a few Macs for friends and family members and a common complaint about Leopard is that the new Application Indictor is difficult to see. SuperDocker allows me to quickly and easily change the Indicator, as well as a plethora of other options with the press of a button. Very nice! (Version 2.2)

Windbuoy | May 21 2008 |
KINGADROCK Very nice application and responsive developer. I don't use this personally, but my Father-In-Law is a Captain on a 1600 Ton ship and uses WindBuoy to supplement his navigation equipment. He keeps a WindBuoy widget open for every buoy he will pass on his route to quickly review conditions. Very handy. (Version 0.99b)

Camino | May 21 2008 |
KINGADROCK That's defeating the purpose of Camino. Camino is lean and fast, incorporating the features of FireFox would slow it down and bloat it up. If you want the functions of Firefox, just use Firefox. (Version 1.6.1)

SiriusMac | May 19 2008 |
KINGADROCK They tried to get way too clever with the interface. It's not intuitive at all, I've messed with this thing 10 minutes and I still can't figure out how to add favorites. I want this application to listen to Sirius Radio, not be dazzled by how it looks like a 3rd rate MP3 Player. (Version 2.2)

VM The favorites are set just by holding the button in for like 3 secs. (like a real radio) (Version 2.2)

Camino | Apr 19 2008 |
KINGADROCK I find Camino to be the very best of the browsers currently available on the Mac for regular users. It's lean, it's clean, it's fast, and it renders nearly all web pages flawlessly. If you're looking for add-ons and don't mind a sub-par interface go with FireFox. If you're looking for the all the bells and whistles and a Mac-centric interface go with OmniWeb (at a price.) But if you're an average user who just wants a free, very fast, Mac-friendly browser nothing beats Camino. (Version 1.6)

Synergy | Apr 4 2008 |
KINGADROCK Synergy used to be the best iTunes controller available. I'm a registered user and have used it for years. Synergy has really taken a turn for the worse. It's not launching properly, it crashes, and it's slow to respond. I got so frustrated that I switched to a competing product. I'll keep an eye on Synergy with hopes it returns to the quality app I once knew. (Version 3.5a6)

GUILLAUMEK "About the crashing (or not crashing), I can assure you that it's really a completely separate issue. It's a known bug in Leopard's NSAppleScript running under Garbage Collection. It's effectively random, and sooner or later it will crash... until Apple fixes the bug. I've been pretty lucky with this and I only see a crash every few days, but I know others see them all the time: luck of the draw, it would seem. I'm going to put together a couple of new releases which incorporate this fix for the artwork issue: * 3.5a7: a new build of the alpha series, which will still unfortunately suffer from Apple's NSAppleScript bug. * 3.2.1: a new build of the stable 3.2 series, which won't be affected by the NSAppleScript issue (never has been, never will be) because it doesn't use Leopard's Garbage Collection. I'll try to get those out tomorrow." Quoted from http://rails.wincent.com/issues/668 So no more artwork issues! (Version 3.5a7)

Clean Text | Jan 28 2008 |
KINGADROCK Since it was the MacUpdate Promo today, I downloaded and tried the latest version of Clean Text. I gave it a fairly thorough run through and found nearly no changes to the version I currently own and use (3.4.1). I agree with you, I don't know what the heck this company has been doing with their products other than raising their prices.

Synergy | Jan 24 2008 |
KINGADROCK I'm having the same issues here. Won't launch, won't control. I understand the movement away from a preference pane. Please give us the ability to hide the application icon though. Synergy was once the undisputed King of iTunes controllers. Now it's hardly a contender. I've switched to SizzlingKeys. Nice app, and it works too. (Version 3.5a5)

StarLightXM | Jan 10 2008 |
KINGADROCK Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder, but functionality applies to everyone. There are Apple User Interface Guidelines for a reason. As the developer, it's your right to ignore the tried and true methods recommended by Apple and incorporate your own non-traditional approach. To each his own, but I think you'd really benefit from a better GUI. (Version 1.0b15)

KINGADROCK I think by "clunky" he means it's ugly, needlessly confusing, and non-traditional in appearance. It runs just fine but the interface really could use a makeover. (Version 1.0b15)

Personal Antispam X5 | Oct 24 2007 |
KINGADROCK I already own SpamSieve. I can't imagine anything working better than that. I get about a thousand spam messages a day and SpamSieve catches 99% of it. Competition is good though. I hope Personal AntiSpam catches on. It's just not for me. (Version 10.4.3)

FileChute | Feb 5 2007 |
KINGADROCK Again, Pando does not do the same thing as FileChute. That's like saying a bike and a car do the same thing because they both are modes of transportation. FileChute allows access to private networks that the user has control over. Because the user has control, it makes FileChute infinetly more valuable. It can be used as a tool for web developers, a secure quick drop box for Intranets, a collaboration tool for business. As for the security issue... anytime you store files on someone elses network there is a security concern. Maybe it's fine for your family pictures but in no way is Pando an acceptable solution for business where it's common to send prospectus or other confidential information. (Version 2.5.8)

FileChute | Jan 23 2007 |
KINGADROCK Pando does not do the same thing. FileChute allows access to a variety of server types, FTP, WebDAV and DotMac. Pando allows you to upload files to Pando's server. I know my server is secure. There's no way I would upload certain work related files to an open community site like Pando. FileChute is a great tool if you need quick and easy access to a web server for file sharing, website updating, uploading proofs, etc. (Version 2.5.8)
