KHSUTHER  The error you've described isn't a problem iChat, but a problem with AIM itself. You'll get the BadDbStatus error when the AIM login servers aren't working properly. Chax doesn't actually modify any system files or files in iChat, so nothing should be corrupted.

KHSUTHER  The beta releases are put up on my weblog often so that people who want to test new features can get the latest copy of what I'm working on. I don't actually publish new beta versions to tracking sites – they just insist on continually updating the listing automatically.

I try to keep final releases separated out every few weeks or so for the reason you've mentioned.
