KELLHOUND1 I have Ubercaster, and I'm very happy with it. Sure, you could do exactly what Ubercaster does with Garageband and iTunes, but it makes things more difficult. Furthermore, Ubercaster is a lot easier to use. For instance, in Garageband if you want to add an intro and outro jingle you'd have to import the files from the hard drive and physically place them at the beginning and at the end once the podcast if finished. With Ubercaster you can make templates that have your different jingles, and when you're ready to play the outro at the end, just press the hotkey button and it records away. Output to music files is much better than in Garageband. In Ubercaster you can switch between AAC and MP3, and also designate your own settings extensively. True $80 is a lot of money, but if you podcast on a regular basis, Ubercaster is a beautiful product. In fact, after I tried Ubercaster I started podcasting more because of how easy it was. When I was using Garageband I'd only update my Website podcast page every once in a while because the process was so laborious. In any event, download the app and try it out for a while. No harm if you don't like it. (Version 1.2) |
