KAWAII Everything good so far, 10.10 is more stable than 10.0 however it is early days; it will be interesting to see how things work out in the next few days/weeks/months. (Version 10.10.6790)

Adobe Flash Player | Nov 18 2009 |
KAWAII They could use OpenCL but that limits the number supported - with that being said, hardware acceleration won't fix Flash because Flash is more than just h264 playback; Flash stinks, what is required is a fundamental overhaul that gives the code a fine tooth comb analysis of every line of code - fixing up bugs and optimising code as required. KAWAII Mate, have you heard of 'Software Update'? Well - use it, that is why it is included Mac OS X. (Version 4.0.4)

Google Chrome | Nov 10 2009 |
KAWAII Stupid people are everywhere on this forum - this is a development version, a beta version, an incomplete version - it is there fore developers to test along with those users who like using bleeding edge software. If you want stability then don't bloody well use it! As for the phoning home; what a load of bollocks - your tin foil hat conspiracy theories have been disproven time and time again and yet you continue to post this crap onto forums where ever you appear. Then again, you're a conspiracy theory nut who thinks everyone is out to get you. (Version 4.0.237.0)

JCRAIG Exactly. Google's Privacy Policy is clearly linked above, as are the Known Issues concerning the present state of Chrome development. If you don't want to be a beta tester, just move on. (Version 4.0.237.0)

KAWAII Mate, why do you expect a reply within hours? where do they say that they'll reply within hours? Dear god, get a grip - start complaining if you haven't heard back after a week. (Version 3.0)

Apple iMac Graphics Firmware Update | Sep 11 2009 |
KAWAII Ignore this; MacUpdate is filled with idiots. I downloaded pacifist, extracted the updater and found it wasn't required. I'll put money on it some idiot from MacUpdate assumed that 'page updated' equals 'new package'. Not the first time MacUpdate has done something moronic. (Version 1.0.2)

Apple iMac Graphics Firmware Update | Sep 11 2009 |
JOSHMUNKEY KAWAII- the update was posted on apple's site on the 10th, and is listed on apple's official download page in between recent security upgrade links. the "more information" link yields a page with this on it: Post Date: September 10, 2009 it is indeed a newly posted firmware update- yet for whatever reason, it's not updating apparently for systems that are within the described specs. (Version 1.0.2)

Apple iMac Graphics Firmware Update | Sep 10 2009 |
KAWAII From the sounds of things reading the Apple thread, Apple didn't include the necessary digital signing to allow a firmware upgrade to take place. The digital signing of firmware updates was put into place recently after a security expert noted that one could hack the keyboard using a malicious firmware update. (Version 1.0.2)

Apple HP Printer Drivers | Aug 28 2009 |
KAWAII I've got an HP Desktjet F2280 All-in-one, and this doesn't work; HP isn't providing drivers either - yet another release and HP fails to stand up and support a new operating system release. (Version 2.0)

ABSPJL I've got a work-around, but its laborious. I have Unbuntu on my Mac running under VirtualBox, and I can print using the Linux printer driver from my virtual computer. (Version 2.0)

Apple HP Printer Drivers | Sep 7 2009 |
JDANEK630 Wow, I'm not going to pretend to be a sophisticated Windows/Linux user. Do you have any idea as to whether or not there will be a supported fix coming from either HP or Apple regarding this particular model? I really need to get my printer back up and running ASAP. (Version 2.0)

Opera | Aug 25 2009 |
KAWAII I've run Opera in the past with alot of hesitation due to incompatibilities between websites and the browser itself. I'm running Opera 10.0Rc1 on Snow Leopard 10A432 - this is the first time I can confidently say that I can use Opera as a full time browser. If the final keeps building on 10.0Rc1 success then they've won a convert :) (Version 10.0rc1)

smcFanControl | Jul 30 2009 |
KAWAII 0 means that you've made no change. I tend to use the really high fan speed when doing some compressing that takes a long time - although I'm a little paranoid, I do think that Apples specifications sale pretty close to the wind when it comes to temperate control. (Version 2.2.2)

Microsoft Office 2008 | Jul 20 2009 |
KAWAII I agree; when I first launched it after updating I thought, "oh, the speed is because I must have launched it before" so I restarted the computer, and I was shocked - they must done something big to improve the speed. (Version 12.2)

Microsoft Office 2008 | Jul 20 2009 |
KAWAII Great update, 100% reliable, no crashes, very fast launch of Office applications, slight memory reduction as well. Office 2008 when it was first launched was very rough around the edges, SP1 improved things but SP2 has finally got Office 2008 to a reasonable standard that is comparable to their Windows product. The main reasons why I avoid iWork is the lack of bibliography function built in and just basic features like auto-saving and crash recovery. Until Apple get their act together, Microsoft Office is the only option for those who do university papers. (Version 12.2)

JPW I agree that Word is quite improved and improving. However, as a PhD student who has written a Master's degree and two years so far in my Doctorate on nothing but NeoOffice, I would beg to differ that Word is the "only option for those who do university papers". In fact, I switched to NeoOffice after having lost some 40 pages of my Master's thesis while using Word. (Version 12.2)

Microsoft Office 2008 | Jul 20 2009 |
KAWAII Remember that you can only install it on up to 3 Macs and you'll need to use three seperate serial numbers. What I suggest is you uninstall it, delete all the Microsoft Office settings, and do a clean install of Office 2008, apply SP1 then apply SP2 (since SP2's only requirement is SP1 to be installed) and see how that goes. I've had no problems here so it must be a setup related issue at your end rather than something wrong with the software. (Version 12.2)

AIM for Mac | Jul 7 2009 |
KAWAII There are lots of things that don't make sense about AOL - with the top being, "why the hell do they still exist". They should die just like Prodigy, Voyager, CompuServe and other organisations that have no relevance any more. (Version 2.0b1)
