i clicked on your comment on macupdate to see your name and used that to check in our database of users and do not see you in there at all. you may have bought it a long time ago. we have been updating and upgrading iclock for over a decade. back in the last century we did not even know to keep peoples email addresses. still you must have bought an update a few years ago. perhaps we don't have your email because mail to your isp was bounced or because you have it go thru one of those stop spam security sites that requires a capcha (which unfortunately we can't spend out days filling out so that people get their email) or perhaps when you bought from us you opted to not receive mailings, etc. there are lots of reasons people don't get email from us. we actually try hard to reach everyone in different ways. we do love sending out updates to people if we have their email and they receive email. i am not saying your email has a problem. if you have had the same email for 26 years, which means in 1983 way ahead of us :) and it works fine then i am sure its fine. we are not perfect but i would like to know why you are not in our records at all. it may be that you bought under another name. also and maybe most important you think its $20 to upgrade and its not. its $20 to buy iclock but previous owners can contact us for a coupon to upgrade with. contact me at julian @ scriptsoftware.com without the spaces if you want. we appreciate your comments and we really do appreciate your being an owner of iclock in those early days. ps we like improving iclock and it is a continuing project. its not just a clock. its a time hub. that is how it will continue to evolve. JULIAN MILLER It sounds like you changed your email address andare not on our mailing list anymore. When we started on iClock Pro we offered it while in beta for $5 then $10 then $15 for many months before getting to the present $20. We do have a coupon for previous users and they can always contact us if they are interested in upgrading. There is a lot of work in iClock. Many years by a number of people so yes we do charge for it. That supports the ongoing development and there is a lot more coming. Thanks for the good feedback.

JULIAN MILLER we added stocks because many users requested it. it only adds a few k to the size of the app is non invasive (you need option click the time menu to access it) and doesn't slow the app. it is a new feature but because it was wanted, doesn't get in the way at all or slow down the computer is not bloat. i can understand if you don't use it much neither do i but those who do love it. to add cities (we often call it locations or time zones) just click the edit locations/time zones button in time menu:menu items or in the floating clocks parts of the iclock prefs. it has been changed but its much easier to use then it was previously. thanks for the good feedback. we are always trying to make it better.

JULIAN MILLER thanks for the feedback. the best method is to email me direct. we do what we can to see posts by people but as you know that means visiting macupdate, iusethis, versiontracker, download.com, etc.... not to mention our folder and the google docs we maintain. so we don't instantly see that. the forums are mainly for users sharing knowledge. please email me if you have an issue.

JULIAN MILLER the big calendar does show a cupcake with a calendar icon. in the mini cal it does nothing at present. we could add it but the thinking was to keep it simple. http://www.scriptsoftware.com on macupdate. its easy to find the link to a developers site on the softwares page. just click on the developers name which is a link. there is also links in the software in the iclock sys pref panel to the manual, bug reports, our sites and others useful things. let us know if you think the small calendar should indicate events but be aware there is not much space there for an event much less many events.

JULIAN MILLER if you have b16 installed we need you to open the installer and in the help menu hit the create debug txt and send us the file. we did change some things on purpose to get more info from exactly the situation you had (it will only occur to a few with many menubar apps) and your bug report will actually help nail that issue.

JULIAN MILLER this is not the place for tech support so write to us if you need a response. go to the copypaste preferences and make sure that 'launch copypaste pro at startup' is turned on there. if that is on you need to have it work at startup so check your startup items. delete the copypaste one in there. if you want it to remember your clips then make sure that is on in the preferences.

just so you know. its a major update. its take us over a year and a half to do complete this version. there is a massive amount of work in the app, the manual, testing, graphics, website, tech support, etc. i say this because people sometimes have no idea what goes on. apps are not created in a night. iclock is a constantly evolving work. this time around to make it more compatible with the latest mac os it was completely rewritten. it went from being an app to being a control panel and a library. the prefs are not all centrally located and much easier to understand. their is an enormous number of functions hidden behind that simple interface. we love making mac software but we need to make money to pay the bills just like everyone else. we do our best to price it fairly to be able to continue working on useful software as we do. many apps that you use once a week or once a month charge $79 or $129 or $199 for an upgrade. iclock is a app people use all the time, every day, for years on end. we charge $15 for the upgrade and their are lots of free upgrades often many years. other apps that charge much more for an update also charge you once each year. we do appreciate your feedback it allows us to present info from our point of view.

JULIAN MILLER please contact us. we would like to figure out why you are not getting into the forum. we can't fix it till we know about it. email julian @ scriptsoftware.com i get frustrated with software and hardware companies occasionally too. what i have found is that if i communicate direct with them it always seems to work out best for everyone it often takes time though. someday when i have more time i'll post a frustrating story about how i went swimming by accident with my iphone. the incident after some messages caused a change in apple's policy towards soggy iphones. it shows the value of feedback. thanks and we do value all comments.

JULIAN MILLER Thanks for all the interest in the new version and the upgrade. It is far better and far more usable then every before. It is presently a beta. The final version should be ready shortly. Until then its important to realize this is a beta. It is solid and stable but not feature complete. There are hundreds of settings and features in iClock Pro if you find something that does not work as expected or a spelling mistake then just let us know via our suggestion/bug form and it will be fixed in a week. We really appreciate feedback, all kinds, our aim is to continuously improve the software. On email. If we don't get back to you within a few hours, we are not ignoring you and we will get to you, we are a small company. There are a lot of iClock users and only a few of us. If you ordered and did not receive an email just let us know. We will resend it to you or you can log in and get your registration key or you can go to our support page and have it resent. If you have any other question or problem or feature you want in iClock Pro then let us know via email.

JULIAN MILLER Our goal is to create useful software. We enjoy the design and we really enjoy our relationship with people who use iClock. Always write to us if you have an issue. We don't to all the shareware sites to read comments often but email is immediate. We don't expect fawning, in fact, that would be kind of creepy. Just let us know what happened that is the only way we can fix it. Email info at scriptsoftware.com If your coupon did not register, email us. We can't fix that here. You did not hit the add coupon button. If you did not receive the email then it may have gone to your spam folder. Also there is a possibility that you did not get an email because some isp's require reverse dns on mail and that is something we were working on last week. Thanks for the feedback. JULIAN MILLER yes, losing the archives is an issue that happens on some macs with the latest version. we think its an incompatibility with another software, we don't know which because it does not happen to peter or myself. the problem occurs if you automatically startup up cp pro thru the startup items. delete cp pro in the startup items and start it automatically and it will be fine.

glad you saw the answer because i have no way to reach you since i don't know who you are. it would be great if you could fix that 1 star review above. that was a tad harsh. we don't mind getting criticism but 1 is the lowest an application can get and it stays in there system forever. people who don't know a product look to the stars rating when they are wondering whether to download or not. my guess is that when they see a 1 star rating from a user then they don't download and try it out. we love criticism and suggestions and bug reports from all users especially our old and loyal users but we also like new users to download and try it out.

JULIAN MILLER Thanks to all the users who helped pinpoint the problem for some users with the contextual menu. Since we did not have the problem ourselves it really helped to have your input. Also all the creative suggestions have been invaluable. Many suggestions like the vertical browser will come shortly. If many people all want some particular feature then it moves it to the top of the list of things to put in the next update. We especially appreciate technical input through the feedback menu item in CopyPaste Pro because it goes straight into a database that we see immediately and allows us to track, follow up and respond better. JULIAN MILLER To answer your question of why the clip archive is not unlimited. Well, it is. You can as many archives as you want. Each archive has 43 slots and the reason there is 43 is because that is how many usable keys there are on a keyboard. Each can become a hot key you can then use to copy and paste. To answer you question of why the clip history is not unlimited is because memory on the mac is limited. As you found you can change the number of clips in the history from the default 20 up to whatever you want. We allow you to choose because people have different amounts of RAM on their mac and because some people copy just text (which takes up almost no space) and others copy 20 meg pictures. The person who copies 20 meg pictures will want to limit the number of clips remembered depending on their available RAM. Thanks for the good questions. (Version 1.0.5)

JULIAN MILLER thats a good question. we needed to put in some sample data for when people start the app. it gives an idea from the beginning what clip data is like and it shows where it appears. to delete it highlight and hit the delete key as you continue to work it will go out the top of the stack eventually depending on the number of clips you set in the preferences.

iVisualize | Jun 15 2006 |
JULIAN MILLER This is not just a new iTunes visualiser its a plug-in which allows you to use Quartz Composer to develop more visualizers for iTunes. This is fantastic. The artwork is realistic and lots of info on each song. Many different visualizers are included. If you have iTunes on a mini connected to an HD screen this is essential. Amazing work and its free. The only way to understand it is to download and try it out. Kudos to the author and the artists who have obviously given a lot of time and effort to this undertaking. Anyone who loves their music owes it to themselves to try this out. I found it solid and dependable and easy to install. (Version 1.5)

NetCheck | Jun 5 2006 |
JULIAN MILLER To answer the message below. NetCheck is written in Cocoa/Xcode. It is very solid and in use on numerous major government and corporate networks around the world. The admins who use it say it is a time and life saver. Most admins who try NetCheck end up using it. Do not let the low price deter you from trying it. This is a very professional application written from the ground up by an industry vetran to monitor the uptime of networks, critical devices and applications. Since he is still the admin of a huge network and a consultant to others it is based on real hands on experience and is constantly being improved. Yes, there are a couple very pricey $$ applications that can do some of what NetCheck does but any busy admin who is looking to, do less and accomplish more, owes it to themselves to take a minute and try NetCheck. It is just what is needed and will save many headaches. (Version 1.3.3)

this is julian again (one of the iclock developers) and i just wanted to mention why iclock has what appears to be non clock and so many features. when we created iclock we wanted a time hub. something that gave us time and date simultaneously in the menubar. we wanted to see timezones for all the cities that we interact with to improve communication. we wanted alarms that could be set in one click and drag so that they would be simple and therefore used. we wanted a quick calendar that could have pictures and lots of other options and be printed out. a stopwatch was another very obvious feature related to time and that was soon added. an updated stock portfolio available at a click from the menubar does not seem related to time but it is because stocks change with time. also setting alarms for stocks makes sense. a to do list also may not at first glance appear to be time related but if on the list you want to know when an item is due (and all to do items are due sometime) then it should tell you. this is not implemented yet but mark is working on it. so iclock has everything to do with time. it sits up in the menubar and gives you powers that no other application does because it integrates many types of functions and this power will be seen as it continues to evolve. it is unobtrusive, it doesn't use much memory, is inexpensive and uses hardly any cpu and yet it is extremely useful to get things accomplished. it for productive people. thanks again to all the users of iclock for their valuable input. ps the price of iclock will be going up for unregistered users in the future. so if you don't own it you may want to get it soon. registered users will continue getting free upgrades as they have for the past 4 years. AMWC This is a great app. I am running it successfully on a Macbook and I love its features. But I just installed teh CHUD appp from Xtools so I could turn off the second processpr when I don't need it and get rid of that infuriating whine that is afflicting Macbooks, and then I installed 10.4.6 update for Tiger. Xtools seemed to make no difference to my iClock menu bar items, but since installing 10.4.6 I have lost all my menu items for iClock except the calculator and I have also lost my floating clocks. I downloaded and installed this update of iClock, but no change. Any one else come across this/solved it? (Version 3.0.4b1)

JULIAN MILLER we appreciate all the great feedback. in particular a special thanks to cian: http://www.afterglow.ie/articles_timezones.html an interface and graphic designer from ireland for a great idea and now the latest feature in iclock of country flags for the floating clocks. a feature you can see only if you have an intel mac is in the application menu which now displays which open apps are running in rosetta. very handy. to respond to the last user. we did have a problem with apple's installer that was out of our control and the easiest solution was to decide that future versions of iclock would only be for 10.4. programming is a very complex and one reason it can be challenging is that we don't control everything. if apple decides to change some rules, programs, the os, or the installs then it takes us awhile to react to it. but we do. mark is a great programmer and dedicates a lot of time to talking to users and adding features and improving the program. apple and other developers are constantly improving their programs. to do it feedback is needed. you can reach us through our website and direct at info at scriptsoftware.com suggestions, bugs and comments are always welcome. right now we are working to make everything perfect so if you notice any issue let us know.

i am one of the developers of iclock. we created a new installer that is better in many ways but when doing an install reported (incorrectly) that the version being installed was older then the version on your disk. it does not have any other problem. so we apologize for that but you can go ahead and use it just ignore that message. as for the restart after installing. if you have a newer version of iclock then you can just quit the installer and you are fine. if you have an older version of iclock (pre 2.4) then we recommend a restart or logout. that is why we did it like that. we will try a different way of doing this in the next version. i know i certainly don't like restarting after intalling a new application. a big thanks for all the good feedback. ps now that iclock is working on intel macs mark is working on the next round of cool features. if you have suggestions then email us.
