Apple iTunes | Sep 9 2009 |
JTHEISS hmm... since it requires 10.4.*11*... methinks apple's been supporting it themselves. developers take note, if you want your latest apps to run in 10.4, you need to get apple to add you into the next 10.4 update. of course, this is extreme sarcasm, but come on. requiring the 11th update is not not writing with support for tiger. it's the two being updated in tandem. JTHEISS I've already given this great app 5 starts, so I won't review it again. Just wanted to say it's working 100% under Snow Leopard. (Version 2.1.5)

JTHEISS Don't get me wrong, it's an elegant app and if if was $25 or even $30, I'd slap my money down right now. I just think $50 is just way too high a price for what is. (Version 1.0.2)

JTHEISS Damn. I was really liking this, but $50 is too steep for an app i use for 5 minutes at the end of my day. (Version 1.0.2)

RAWN027 If you only use this app 5 minutes at the end of your day you are doing it all wrong. Last time I checked for real programmers who use real version control (git) it is more of a lifestyle change than an after-thought tacked on to the end of the day. That begin said, as a real programmer I never feel the need for a GUI based version control app, nor would I use this because its SVN not GIT. Lastly, I mean no harm to the developers of this fine Mac OS X citizen, it is quite stunning and I remember being interested in the app when I still used SVN as my main versioning system. Kudos to the devs on this app for sure! (Version 1.0.2)

JTHEISS Ya new games come out and require new machines. That's why we have PS3s and XBOX360s now. It just seemed kinda silly to expect a graphically intense new game to support PPC. I don't expect PS3 games to be able to play on my PS2 either. (Version 1.7)

JTHEISS I could see paying $250 and charging to the client. Until this supports AS3 though, it's not worth $250. (Version 3.6)

JTHEISS Ya I just let mine lapse too. Stupid to pay year after year for an iTunes visualizer. Too bad too. I really like WhiteCap and would have bought that too if I knew I didn't have to rebuy it every year. (Version 3.8.4)

JTHEISS Ya. Stop whining about it and do what the rest of the world did 10 years ago. Move on. Especially in the age of cross-platform flash media players. Real player sucks. It has always sucked. Get over it. (Version 11.0 build 884)

iVolume | May 19 2008 |
JTHEISS I bought iVolume 2 when it came out. It's awesome - just wish we could get away from a DRM world so I can equalize my entire library. Charging 2/3 the cost of the full version, a whopping $20, when I supported iVolume 2 and the only thing different is "it's been rewritten" and "it's faster" just pisses me off. I paid $15 for iVolume 2. Now, I'm asked to pay that again PLUS another $5 for an UPDATE? Go eff yourself. (Version 3.0.1)

Return to Dark Castle | Apr 22 2008 |
JTHEISS I've played DC and BDC since 1984. It's probably been about 18 years since I've last played it. Was really looking forward to this and $30 is totally reasonable for an electronic download/license. BUT $30 is NOT reasonable for a one-time install (unless I pay $5 more for the chance to reinstall as long as it's been less than a year). I just recently upgraded my hard drive in my laptop, reinstalled and relicensed everything, but I wouldn't be able to do that with this game? Give me a real purchasing option and stop treating paying, hardworking (like yourself), software developer supporters like criminals. $30 for a one-time install is insane. In the meantime, I guess I could dust off the Fat Mac, install DC on it and play it for a while. Because I can. (Version 1.1)

JTHEISS OMG! Joyous day! When I went to Leopard/intel, 3 of my must-have shareware/freeware apps were broken. iCalViewer, iChatter and Viou. iCalViewer was fixed almost immediately, iChatter is unfortunately no longer supported, and now Viou is updated! For all of you that love to have folders with icons that identify what's inside them, Viou cannot be beat. Really simple to set up a default icon scheme and then it's just a matter of right clicking on a folder and selecting what app inside you want to badge that folder with. You can even do multiple folders at once. This is one of the best apps out there, hands down. And it's free! (Version 2.8.1)

JTHEISS Turn on autosave. That way you just lose the last turn (unless it takes you hours to make one turn). Looks like there's a memory leak or something. My tiles will start to turn black, that's usually a sign it's about to crash. (Version 1.74)

My Living Desktop | Jul 3 2007 |
JTHEISS Just bought it. Videos are absolutely gorgeous loops. Nice to be able to have this playing on just my second screen while I work on my main. Slightly pricey, but oh so beautiful and relaxing. I *would* like an option of using a custom image for the non-animated screen instead of an animation still, but that's a minor quibble. (Version 2.0.4)
