I also found getting info and selecting the rosetta option fixes the issue. I have not noticed significant performance issues (1.83).

thanks so much for this link. I stumbled on this form about a year after my original post-- and have been booting via command line for too long.

For those of you who need more info... this pref. pane works for those who did the custom work-around in the previous posts on this topic. Worth trying at any rate... you can't harm your computer.

how hard could it possibly be to do this for Aperture 1.5??? Why is Apple treating iphoto users better then Aperture 1.5 users?

After trying a number of solutions... I found that this set of instructions got the stock 5.0.45 install working with Leopard.

http://www.nabble.com/MySQL-Install-on-OS-X-Leoperd-t4699997.html

The key is to start the server first and then run VincentJ's code...

note... there should be a space before the"-s"

sudo ln -s /tmp/mysql.sock /var/mysql/mysql.sock

I couldn't notice any degradation in battery life and I've been running this patch for almost a year now. Battery still in great shape. It might have a 2-5% hit... maybe..

Any Word on whether this works with 10.5?

I noticed that you can publish flash slide-shows in about 2 clicks. That's not too shabby.

It is certainly within the average user's ability to create custom themes. I could see this being especially useful when you need a simple, non-dynamic site ... fast.

I have created a decent CSS "web gallery" that nicely displays the output from this tool. Check it out for sample and the source code...

1) this app has a great interface. Totally Mac-esque... I love the spinning orange. Almost makes me want to use as an itunes alternative.

2) it has a VERY limited purpose... to visually graph and organize songs by speed... which it does not always do very reliably. The Double/half beats per minute "features" did absolutely nothing when I tried them.

3) If the developer would add some kind of value in addition to the nice layout... and maybe a progress bar, it might interest me.

sheesh... let's try to be a little more supportive of indie (sp?) mac developers!

I like the beige/orange folders... why not go with a wood-themed (i.e. garageband) themed version? That would seem to me to be a better fit.

I am also getting a bad data error. I've tried downloading everything listed in the comments as well as the official download and its not working.

I think clarification would be nice... do I use my full email address on the back or just my username?

I'm not an audiofile by any means... but I could selectively remove pieces of sound from a recording I made in a loud room. It has potential. This program is kind of like the "aperture" of Adobe -- cool features, but limited scope.

I was kinda worried about the "kernel" aspects of this install... but found it to easily installable/uninstallable. I had the whine bad with 3rd or 4th rev. of the logic board and this solved 90+% of the sound issue. I can still hear something when I put my ear directly up to my laptop (which is reasonable to assume--this app didn't replace the bad part), but this patch cut the whine down to very reasonable / unnoticable levels.

I'm not sure if I'll even need to send my computer back in for repair now! I am very pleased with this software.
