LiteSwitch X

JMICHAELS  Take a look at Keyboard Maestro when the new version come out. Little did I know, that even now, it is a string competitor to liteswitch x, though they do not take over command-tab, since there is no official way to do so with Apple's API.

Apparently there now is an official way, and the new version may have this feature. There is so much more you can do with Keyboard Maestro that is useful as well. Not to mention, the best support I have had for a product.

JMICHAELS  I have used LiteSwitch X for as long as I can remember, essentially since it was first released.

The one point everyone hear needs to take away from this, is that no matter how good the software is, it is garbage if the developers do not respect their users. The developers, or owners of Proteron, have zero respect for their users.

They Web site has been down for over a year, leaving users stranded to ask around for a shared copy if your lost yours and needed to reinstall.

There is no official announcement of whether or not it works with Snow Leopard. I believe you can find the developers on twitter, and a basic search shows there are unanswered questions about this product.

Even if they were to release a new updated version, with Snow support, and have a new website, I could never give these guys my money again. Even if it were free, I would not use it. There is a level of communication that a developer and company should have with their users. It is not hard to come here, and version tracker, or put up a page on their site, explaining they have stopped working on the software.

I suggest everyone here, no matter how much you like this software, take into consideration, how you are being treated by someone who you have paid money to.

This has been going on too long, too many unanswered emails, too many blog posts from users who have no idea what is going on. These guys should be ashamed, as it is clear fro their blogs and twitter posts, they have the ability to post something, they just chose to not care about those of us who have come to rely on their software.

If anyone has any suggestions for an alternative, please post it here, as we all need to move away to something that will treat users with respect.
