I am not dead, I did not die a few years ago, i graduated from college a few years ago, thus lost my copious free time, iEatBrainz was always on my back burner. And while the trunk of public repository did compile as a universal binary, I never released it, because it didn't really matter as MusicBrainz is going to shut down the TRM server in the near future (as in Feb 2008 last announced).

I don't have time or interest to port iEatBrainz to MusicIP, but I do have interest is other people doing it, or helping work on other parts of iEatBrainz if there is some other developer interested in doing the port.

So beware it may stop working in the near future.

There was a build issue with the original file posted here for 2.1.1, this is fixed now.

I've tried to correct this in the default case in 2.1. But it's really hard to figure out if the window was just created by the terminal.app, but i think i came up with a way to do it, but it only works if you haven't changed your default shell settings too much.

>cd to ... should be a lot faster because it's not using applescript but apple events directly instead. >cd to .. is only designed to be used from the finder toolbar (but that makes more sense because you'd have to navigate from the finder first anyway. And it seems cdf from what you've cited me uses gui scripting which is very sketchy thing to do and unnecessary because the terminal is directly scriptable to run commands.

At first i didn't have success, and then I discovered that the API I used to load in the text requires a byte order mark, and that byteorder mark was not added by the text editor i used to convert it.

http://unicode.org/unicode/faq/utf_bom.html#25

Once i added EF BB BF to the beginning of the file with HexFiend everything rendered appropriately, obviously this is a very technical work around. So it would be better if we could find a text converter that would add the byte order mark after converting.

Workaround aside, we certainly we will make this work easier in future versions of niceplayer.

We don't have support to set specific language encodings in our first release of subtitle support, however as a work around, NicePlayer does support unicode and should be able to render foreign characters if you convert the subtitle file to unicode.

There maybe a work around for this, NicePlayer does support unicode and should render foreign characters, it's probably just that we don't have support to set specific language encodings in our first release of subtitle support, you could probably convert your subtitle file to UTF-8 and it would work. You should also send us a subtitle file to test with.

We'll need more information to fix this, as far as the media i have multiple audio tracks show up in the movie menu and are able to be disabled or enabled individually.

Our issue tracker is here:

If you have a bug, issue, or feature request, added it to our support site http://charon.laya.com/niceplayer/trac.cgi/newticket, so we can make sure we get the information we need to get it fixed in the next release.

The crashing bug in 0.94 has a work around of moving the DVD plugin to the bottom of the plugin order list in the prerefences. We will release a fixed version of niceplayer tonight.

You can add info through the MusicBrainz website, and you can added fingerprints with iEatBrainz. You have to enter in your musicbrainz log-in into iEatBrainz preferences before these features become available. MusicBrainz problem is not that it's missing obscure songs, it's that it's missing fingerprints, 50% of the songs in the database don't have fingerprints, thus the search again by tag info typically finds a match if your information is pretty close. If you match by that search, the fingerprint is added to the musicbrainz database, thus helping the missing fingerprints. Version 1.04 which is close to being ready, however might be delayed due me going to WWDC, will have a way to manually match songs by browsing through the MusicBrainz website.

No, it should work, unless you don't have Panther, and then it won't launch just like you said.
