JAZZYGUY BUT IT WORKS!!! ....AND I HAVE LUCK WITH THAT!!! As a matter of fact SJK it runs fast and runs better than NetNewsWire. I guarantee that the new version of this RSS Newsreader will not ask for more money as it goes through different stages of devealopment. NetNewsWire was PAID FOR by myself and others. GET A LIFE! We paid for it and supported it and then it went "free"for a little while and now has ads and asks for more money! Shrook and NewsFire don't do that after they become free apps.I think it is a disgusting avaricious act and OTHERS HERE feel the same!BTW the "old NewsMacPro that you disdain even has skins and does it better than NetNewsWire.....and as for their iPhone app! Forget it if you have a load of RSS that you want to appear on your iPhone. That iphone app is absolutely useless unless you want to wait all day for your RSS news to appear. DANA SUTTON Well, my friend, there's something in the world we can call avarice, and it's pretty easy recognize that when you see it. But there's also something called the need to eat. There are plenty of genuine greedheads in the world, why don't you save your bad words for them? Personally, I think the developer of this product is a pretty okay guy, and I bet most folks will agree with me. It's also, i. m. h. o., a damn fine product.

JAZZYGUY That is what is WRONG about this app.FORGET about whether the developer is a GOOD GUY or bad the darn thing takes too long a time to update if you have a large amount of RSS updates whereas other readers update instantly or in a few seconds.GoodGuy don't cut it!

JAZZYGUY Dana Sutton: You feel sorry for Newsgator! Aw they have to eat! Well this conglomaration of corporate control makes more money in one day than you make all year! We who supported NNW at the START got locked out when they ignored their LOYAL supporters and went FREE in order to LURE more users to their app.THEN they put the ADS in and asked for additional monies to remove them . You don't call that AVARICE! Well then you don't know how to recognize it as such. An App is either FREE or charges money for it! It can't be both! I trashed my preferences and could find no Folder in ~/library/appsupport. I had to go back to the prevous version on those 2 drives.Repairing permissions did not help at all. JOHNDOE7 That guy just costs himself more than only one customer. Snow Leopard has been around as a development version for more than half a year, and all the developer of this software comes up with is a meager (not even) three months of goodwill for an upgrade. As stated earlier, this is not what I call fairness.

If that's going to be his last offer I'll accept my loss of investment. I will not put any more money into an upgrade. That's also my recommendation to other customers.

DVH Letter Opener is a more elegant solution. Outlook/Exchange encoded attachments are just there. This is a true plug in, it's operation is transparent, and in true Mac spirit it just works.

If you are a home user and don't mind the several steps to use TNEF's Enough - that program works well. If you have to deal with a hundred emails a day and don't want to have to deal with "missing" attachments and having to move them to proper folders after decoding - Letter Opener is a faster solution. The developer has done a great job. For true "Exchange" compatibility Apple really should have this function built into Mail.

I think this should be part of Mail, but it's not, so I bought a fix.

I'd have loved a free/next-to-free upgrade (6 months purchase grace would have been fairer), but �9.99 is hardly a rip off - IMHO. But for you it might be.

I think you need to cool it a little - it's Apple forcing all the developers to re-jig their apps to fit the new 64/32bit architecture - and over the iterations, they have repeatedly changed/tweaked Mail and it's API's.

Snow Leopard improved/reworked/broke lots of stuff - we have still not upgraded the majority of our macs - does not matter if it was $30 or $5 -.0 caused problems - when 10.6.2 rolls out, hopefully it will be GM quality.

For a domestic/hobby situation - or for those who don't need to value (earn with) their time - use TNEF. In my company, we do not have the time to waste - we need to be earning money, not messing with making folders and moving stuff around [TNEF] - I want my attachments inside Mail, with the email.

The majority of our clients run Windows - so we get .dat files a lot. This makes it very easy.

I had to increase the Refresh rate to get some more colors as in the Default settings it was hung up on Tan and Black and White. Using a 12" G4 Powerbook. STILL_SPARKLING It's a 1.0 release -- always try before you buy. Contact macupdate; perhaps you can get a refund.

I'm using Snowtape and am very happy with it so far. I considered buying RadioGaga too because you can allegedly record multiple streams, but in light of your negative comments, I think I'll sit this one out and wait until the app matures.

JFM I have boguht Radio Gaga yesterday using the MU Promo, and I am very pleased. Not only is the interface pleasant and easy to use, but the selection of stations is quite good.

Regarding the problem of stations not available, I had the same experience for a few - but it is often similar with iTunes. Most stations were working fine. Some that didn't work when I made a first attempt worked finally a few hours later.

I am listening to Radio Gaga while writing this comment: I have tested tonight several stations (in the Folk and Classical sections), and ALL that I selected were working tonight.

Considering moreover that Radio Gaga is only at the very initial stage, it is a very promising application, and can be used to my full satisfaction already now (although I would hope that future releases would allow for editing of recordings, as other similar tools allow their user to do) - I am quite confident this will come.

RC62 JAZZYGUY, sounds like you may have a security program or setting that is blocking Radio Gaga from accessing the Internet feeds. It could be a firewall, proxy, or utility such as Little Snitch etc.

Anyway, just a thought of some things to check...

TYMPANI Try RadioShift by RogueAmoeba. It too has been plagued with problems but finally the most current version seems to be working as advertised. Streams occasionally DO go 'out of service' but so far I've been pleased (after formerly being extremely frustrated). Tech support has been helpful and always responds intelligently. RadioShift allows multiple streams to be recorded, wakes from sleep properly, exports to iTunes, uses Fission to edit recorded streams, & records in various uncompressed or compressed formats. The only thing it won't do is let you listen to early parts of a stream during a recording (unlike TiVo or ReplayTV). After it's finished recording you can do anything you want.

JOSE For me it works fairly well. I have not tried exporting to itunes yet but, the stations work perfectly (most of them). Some can't connect but I guess it is something temporary. Beautiful application which will sure be improved in the next updates. Be patient

JFM JAZZYGUY - For instance, I try AncientFM.com right now - no problem at all.

Same for BlueFM.

PM Classical working too

Etc., etc...

The only one that I tried now and wasn't working was AVRO Classical Light High Definition.

I didn't have to make any setup - just downloaded Radio Gaga, entered the registration, and everything started working fine.

I am at a loss to understand what is happening in your case - especially since other apps for music are working fine. The only possible explanation: a conflict between Radio Gaga and another app.

And just in case: did you try to repair permissions? and maintenance with Onyx? I doubt that it can solve your problem, but in such cases already something worth doing.

Good luck! I hope that you will find a way out. Radio Gaga is a nice application, I have been using it for hours without any trouble since posting my original comment.

KPE I can't connect to any of the stations in the trial either. I've set the firewall to allow all incoming connections for Radio Gaga. I've tried logging on as a different user. I've tried to clear the cache, can't. I get the message "Radio Gaga could not contact the radio list server." I don't have any problems with other streaming services. Too bad.

HMURCHISON I guess that's for each person to decide regarding the value they place on Mailplane. I tend to prefer working "outside" of a browser and having native app controls. $25 dollars to "ehance" a free tool like Gmail sounds expensive but for me I'll likely purchase the family pack for $15 more that gives me Mailplane on up to 5 Macs for $40. That's 8 bucks a computer and a different value prop. Plus I think that the developer is going to be able to link Mailplane up with more apps like he's done with Omnifocus.

HMURCHISON So basically you're saying price is your primary concern? That's fine but to others $24.95 probably doesn't really "break the bank". I know there's a contingent of computer users that love free stuff but there are also many that love simplicity. That's why we compute with Macs even though they come with a pricing premium for given specs. If Gmail keeps a person very happy then the standard web version is going to be fine but some people want ehancements with their OS and the ability to switch between multiple accounts and the $24.95 is a pittance to some for the benefits of desktop integration. The value is perceived differently by different folks. Some free is most key and others productivity/ease is most key.

HMURCHISON Gmail isn't all that efficient if you want to switch multiple accounts or attach files with any kind of speed. I attach files all day at work and would really be hampered by the slow file attachment process for gmail. Anyone with more than one gmail account instantly sees the benefit of being able to switch accounts with ease. When you say "it does the job" you really mean "it does the job for me" Those people who want more functionality and integration from their email client may not find that Gmail does the job.

i also love that macupdate can become a forum for just about any topic. everything is about money... yes. because we live in a world where everything is about money. religious organizations and orders (mostly just those which proselytize) must function as business entities, to an extent, in order to survive. it's the same with music, visual art, written art, food production etc... you may not like it and i definitely hate it, but it doesn't seem that this will change any time soon. /rant

Have you tried walking into the pipe? There should be a pipe in one end of the box that is blocked by wooden crates. If you follow this pipe, you should be able to get to the finish.

HORATIO I agree, it's a little bit unfair, I have the same issue (no search engines and glims suggestions) , but it's working fine for some friends with the same OSX (10.5.6), same computer iMAC intel.

I trashed prefs, cleared caches and reinstalled safari 4 and glims, same thing.

Is it fully functioninal with the current Safari Beta? NO! Kudos to the developers for QUICKLY addressing that nasty bug that caused safari 4 to crash immediately...

For example zoom is no longer available in this browser by using Commandand+. That is just one instance of this browser being more a Windows thing than anything else. LEE123 hmmm, command+ and minus work here on my macbook. I am actually using dvorak though so I have to also use a shift for the zoom in function. Bummer. I think you can change the keys to the shortcuts as well as assign single key shortcuts which is cool. So you could use z for zoom in or what ever you want.

This app is just not ready for prime time!

I am a iTunes power user: I have an extra iTunes Library for RADIO.

there I have about 10 genre playlists from clasic, jazz over house to drum n bass ...

each has at least a dozen stations and they have my ratings ...

So I would say I have invested a lot of time in maintaining my RADIO Library.

the only thing I am missing is to live recording the stream (each in its Original streaming Quality) which I am listening.

Thats why I came to test Radioshift.

I am very frustrated with this app.

waiting and waiting ... to find a lot of unsupported stations..

I found later in the setting how to disable those stations! why is this not default behaviour???

and no instant recording !!!

PS: I am currently testing Macsome AudioRecorder recording my iTunes Stream...

(not the same as the ugly Audio Recorder here on MacUpdate)

Go to the root of your hard drive and open library and open the internet plug ins folder and delete it. If you want to keep Concierge then you must not upgrade. MACSOLU The developer of the Concierge plug-in is GONE. There is NO trace of him/her, and attempts to contact the company have failed. Too bad. It's a great Safari addition. I will not be upgrading my Safari to 3.2 because of this incompatibility. Luckily, WebKit works perfectly with Concierge, a well as a host of other InputManager plug-ins.

ROGER KATZ I had the same experience with my MacBook Pro and MacOS 10.5.5. By the way, when Safari 3.2 crashed, I got an Alert that the crash may have been caused by Concierge.

THEBRIX2008 It launches and works ... but on my MacBook 2.2GHz there are masses of artefacts on the configuration windows (not on the main screen, which works as ever). No crashes, but it is often hard to make the settings, particularly when dragging scroll bars.

The clumsy configuration bar of previous versions has been replaced by a neat floating L-shaped bar in the bottom left of the display. Its icons are far better designed than before and the font is clear (Helvetica) - it is just a shame it erupts in glitches whenever it is used!

SJK Newer versions of 1Password could cause previous versions of Camino to crash, but it's automatically disabled with Camino 1.6.3 so it's unlikely to be causing the previous poster's crash.

You're correct; it's necessary to "uninstall" the Camino plugin under 1Password's Browser preferences tab to fully disable it. Forgot I'd done that after Camino 1.6.1 eventually refused to launch with it enabled even though it had previous worked for awhile.

I thoroughly enjoy LTStat and so I eagerly awaited the opportunity to learn the German game of Skat since LtSkat is based on Skat. Unfortunately the instructions are in German and I can't understand them. Actually the learning Game is also in German and I couldn't fathom how to proceed. It looks like an awful lot of work was done on this app.and I would have gladly paid for it. I am truly sorry that I had to trash it as well as the preference file which was in the proper place namely~/library/preferences. The purpose of this software is for people who want to try and give up pornography - obviously not everyone wants to do this, but some people (i.e. Christians) may feel it's wrong but still have an addiction to it.

The software logs what you visit, and then can send the results to a trusted friend of yours. It gives you a purpose and challenge to stay free of pornography and break the addiction.

You don't HAVE to install it at all - for those who want to try and give up porn, it is a useful tool.
