The other 2 have NEVER asked for more money and in fact Newsfire is free as well as Shrook which shows the AVARICE of this developer. Good Bye NetNewsWire! Hello NewsMacPro which actually is BETTER than this cockamamee RSS reader. In addition NewsMacPro has a free version NewsMac! NewsMacPro will automatically import your Safari Rss as well as Bloglines and NewsFire and NetNewsWire without an OPML file! All you have to do is mark what you want in the preferences! This junk about needing more money for development is pure junk! Don't buy this app for these spurious and fallacious reasons! JOHNDOE7 That guy just costs himself more than only one customer. Snow Leopard has been around as a development version for more than half a year, and all the developer of this software comes up with is a meager (not even) three months of goodwill for an upgrade. As stated earlier, this is not what I call fairness. If that's going to be his last offer I'll accept my loss of investment. I will not put any more money into an upgrade. That's also my recommendation to other customers.

Letter Opener | Sep 12 2009 |
DVH Letter Opener is a more elegant solution. Outlook/Exchange encoded attachments are just there. This is a true plug in, it's operation is transparent, and in true Mac spirit it just works. If you are a home user and don't mind the several steps to use TNEF's Enough - that program works well. If you have to deal with a hundred emails a day and don't want to have to deal with "missing" attachments and having to move them to proper folders after decoding - Letter Opener is a faster solution. The developer has done a great job. For true "Exchange" compatibility Apple really should have this function built into Mail. (Version 3.0.1)

Letter Opener | Sep 13 2009 |
JOHNDOE7 "Great job". Yeah, once. Now he has finally started to shamelessly rip off his prior-to-3.0 customers that thought switching to Snow Leopard might be a good idea. It still IS a good idea to switch, but without Letter Opener. De-installation routine is your friend.

Letter Opener | Nov 2 2009 |
I think this should be part of Mail, but it's not, so I bought a fix. I'd have loved a free/next-to-free upgrade (6 months purchase grace would have been fairer), but €9.99 is hardly a rip off - IMHO. But for you it might be. I think you need to cool it a little - it's Apple forcing all the developers to re-jig their apps to fit the new 64/32bit architecture - and over the iterations, they have repeatedly changed/tweaked Mail and it's API's. Snow Leopard improved/reworked/broke lots of stuff - we have still not upgraded the majority of our macs - does not matter if it was $30 or $5 -.0 caused problems - when 10.6.2 rolls out, hopefully it will be GM quality. For a domestic/hobby situation - or for those who don't need to value (earn with) their time - use TNEF. In my company, we do not have the time to waste - we need to be earning money, not messing with making folders and moving stuff around [TNEF] - I want my attachments inside Mail, with the email. The majority of our clients run Windows - so we get .dat files a lot. This makes it very easy. (Version 3.0.2)

JFM I have boguht Radio Gaga yesterday using the MU Promo, and I am very pleased. Not only is the interface pleasant and easy to use, but the selection of stations is quite good. Regarding the problem of stations not available, I had the same experience for a few - but it is often similar with iTunes. Most stations were working fine. Some that didn't work when I made a first attempt worked finally a few hours later. I am listening to Radio Gaga while writing this comment: I have tested tonight several stations (in the Folk and Classical sections), and ALL that I selected were working tonight. Considering moreover that Radio Gaga is only at the very initial stage, it is a very promising application, and can be used to my full satisfaction already now (although I would hope that future releases would allow for editing of recordings, as other similar tools allow their user to do) - I am quite confident this will come. TYMPANI Try RadioShift by RogueAmoeba. It too has been plagued with problems but finally the most current version seems to be working as advertised. Streams occasionally DO go 'out of service' but so far I've been pleased (after formerly being extremely frustrated). Tech support has been helpful and always responds intelligently. RadioShift allows multiple streams to be recorded, wakes from sleep properly, exports to iTunes, uses Fission to edit recorded streams, & records in various uncompressed or compressed formats. The only thing it won't do is let you listen to early parts of a stream during a recording (unlike TiVo or ReplayTV). After it's finished recording you can do anything you want. (Version 1.0)

I am at a loss to understand what is happening in your case - especially since other apps for music are working fine. The only possible explanation: a conflict between Radio Gaga and another app. And just in case: did you try to repair permissions? and maintenance with Onyx? I doubt that it can solve your problem, but in such cases already something worth doing. Good luck! I hope that you will find a way out. Radio Gaga is a nice application, I have been using it for hours without any trouble since posting my original comment. (Version 1.0)

HALEAKALARI rasputin wasn't such a bad guy. you don't seem to understand that "god" is just a concept. ascetics, "mystics" and even some clergy-folk, they KNOW this, as for most other people out there, they think "god" is some sort of sentient entity. it's really just another way of saying "there is an ever-present, ongoing, intricate pattern of creation, destruction and reconstitution which provides basic sustenance for all. we are all bound together by, subject to, and part of, a greater whole. we all end up in the same place. feeding the earth, feeding the cattle. thus in a sense, entering a state of entropic merging with this whole." out of the void, comes life and death. there are a hundred different ways to say it. unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), it is part of the human condition to take sides, to form groups and irrational explanations for things we don't understand. the downside of this, is a perpetual state of conflict and disagreement, the upside is, it prevents humanity *as a whole* from becoming homogenized automatons... if you can see past the veil, that is. i also love that macupdate can become a forum for just about any topic. everything is about money... yes. because we live in a world where everything is about money. religious organizations and orders (mostly just those which proselytize) must function as business entities, to an extent, in order to survive. it's the same with music, visual art, written art, food production etc... you may not like it and i definitely hate it, but it doesn't seem that this will change any time soon. /rant (Version 1.5.9)

SESQUIPEDALIAN This issue is now fixed (as of build 14 on March 3, 2009). And I agree, don't rate it down the instant something beyond their control breaks their software. Without this it would be impossible to get the free games, and innovative stuff like "Figlet" and kStars which BTW beats all shareware and freeware astronomy apps available including Stellarium and other apps. It was great that it is now NATIVELY ported to 10.5 and runs great! (Version 1.7.0)

JAZZYGUY This is the VERY BEST radio recording and listening application designed for OSX PERIOD! It has a great GUI and its features are very ergonomic. Just like everything else Rogue Amoeba makes it is state of the art! If you want First Class radio listening and recording this is the app! You get what you pay for! (Version 1.1.2)

Are you paid by Rogue Amoeba Software ??? This app is just not ready for prime time! I am a iTunes power user: I have an extra iTunes Library for RADIO. there I have about 10 genre playlists from clasic, jazz over house to drum n bass ... each has at least a dozen stations and they have my ratings ... So I would say I have invested a lot of time in maintaining my RADIO Library. the only thing I am missing is to live recording the stream (each in its Original streaming Quality) which I am listening. Thats why I came to test Radioshift. I am very frustrated with this app. waiting and waiting ... to find a lot of unsupported stations.. I found later in the setting how to disable those stations! why is this not default behaviour??? and no instant recording !!! PS: I am currently testing Macsome AudioRecorder recording my iTunes Stream... (not the same as the ugly Audio Recorder here on MacUpdate) http://www.macsome.com/audio-recorder-mac/index.html (Version 1.1.4)

JAZZYGUY This version states that it is outdated. It says version (a) is an updated version. Saving the .dmg file and opening it gives you the exact same version that needs updating. I like previous iterations of this app. I do not feel that this app has made the transitions in the current OS that others had. In addition I found it to be more than somewhat unstable. I have posted at my blog the unofficial 1.0RC3 PPC build, but it is 10.5 only. Once I get a working 10.4 PPC build, you'll see it posted as the contributed build at getsongbird.org. JAZZYGUY The developer seems to be gone for Concierge. If you want to update Safari you MUST remove the plugin. Go to the root of your hard drive and open library and open the internet plug ins folder and delete it. If you want to keep Concierge then you must not upgrade. I decided to upgrade and use Glims which enhances Safari a freat deal. Still there is nothing like Concierge with its scratchpad and great looks. (Version 3.2)

THEBRIX2008 It launches and works ... but on my MacBook 2.2GHz there are masses of artefacts on the configuration windows (not on the main screen, which works as ever). No crashes, but it is often hard to make the settings, particularly when dragging scroll bars. The clumsy configuration bar of previous versions has been replaced by a neat floating L-shaped bar in the bottom left of the display. Its icons are far better designed than before and the font is clear (Helvetica) - it is just a shame it erupts in glitches whenever it is used! (Version 0.10)

JAZZYGUY I don't get it! Is this some way to censor web sites based on some criteria that is decided by some individuals that have decided that the web site(s) they have visited were in some way in conflict with their own ideas of what should or should not be there? Is this some attempt to curtail the free internet? If this is so then maybe the next step is as Leonard Cohen aptly stated in his song "Everybody Knows" a meter will be installed on our beds.Perhaps when someone comes across a web site that is in conflict with their morals they ought to just skip over it.{Just as there is a power button on our TVs...one doesn't have to view something that is in poor taste according to their own taste but to impose their taste on others that in my humble opinion is wrong. BOBALOB It's not an assault on the free internet at all! The purpose of this software is for people who want to try and give up pornography - obviously not everyone wants to do this, but some people (i.e. Christians) may feel it's wrong but still have an addiction to it. The software logs what you visit, and then can send the results to a trusted friend of yours. It gives you a purpose and challenge to stay free of pornography and break the addiction. You don't HAVE to install it at all - for those who want to try and give up porn, it is a useful tool. (Version 1.5)

X3Watch | Aug 28 2008 |
BOBALOB Also, I would like to add: It does NOT block websites - it simply logs them. You need to install other software to actually block a website. (Version 1.5)

BOBALOB Regardless, surely it is just another tool to help you in the fight against sin? Yes of course your strength should come from the Lord, but I don't see the harm in taking extra measures also to try and help fight the sin. I've been a Christian (well at least believing in God) for a long while and I've struggled with pornography. I went to a Christian festival recently, and I decided to kick the addiction and the pastor recommended I install blocking and accountability software to help. I don't see the harm. Anyway, I don't think this is the place for a deep moral debate! ;) (Version 1.5)

JAZZYGUY Nope! I am correct in my review and comment. Someone looking up a film will see a percentage and if it is low will figure that the film is a loser immediately. I don't feel that this type of "rating" gives the work of numerous artists a "fair shake". I personally don't put much stock in an aggregate of "pundits" and "mavins" I like to make up my own mind. There are those who will look at the percentage and if it is low will go no further and pass the film up. The film may in fact be one that appeals to their personal preferences and tastes. I think you misunderstand what rottentomatoes is all about. You should go to rottentomatoes.com and check it out, it'll help you understand why there isn't a mini-review here. The percentage number given is actually a compilation of all the reviews they have (whether they are rotten or not). Do your homework before you give a negative review.
