JAHNOTH  You can change the default Search engine in the preferences, under Searching. Just choose Google there. Easy enough to change.

JAHNOTH  Or, you could just set your Energy Saver pref panel to put your display to sleep instead of starting a screen saver. That results in a black screen as well.

JAMESKITTY  unless you use hot corners to activate your screensaver when away from the keyboard.

MATURIN  Also, invoking a screen saver can set the security mode. Nice to have it go black (no cpu usage). Some screen savers can make the machine work pretty hard.
