JACKO  I like this app as well. For me, it has a visual glitch on the ToDo tab where it doesn't look like the border was finished on top. Also, I sent a message to the developer asking for the option to change the menu icon to something a little more subtle. All else is good.

JACKO  Great application that works as advertised. The only issue I have is truncated text in the menus. What does "Use projects to fu..." mean? Get this fixed and it will be a winner in my book.

JACKO  Be sure and check the documents pane out on this before you purchase or upgrade. Although it seems like a great feature, there appears to be some garbled text and messed up graphics at the top where it's trying to show me the document count. I've sent a message to the developer. My only other beef is that when you have a lot of applications the icons refreshing a bit slowly. Other than these things, it looks like an improvement to the previous version.

JACKO  This application looks cool and has some promise. I have sent a message to the developer as I found it a bit sluggish on my Dual 2 Ghz G5 Mac. Also, I couldn't get the images to show a preview in column mode if they were larger than .5 MB. If the devloper gets this thing running smoothly, I'll consider making the investment.

JACKO  This is a great program. With this said and in my opinion, the upgrade price is a bit high considering the changes. The OmniGraffle Pro 4 upgrade was $49.95 for me. It's now $74.95 to move to OmniGraffle Pro 5.

JACKO  Just tried newest version and am still having same problem. Haven't heard from the developer yet. Hopefully, it can be fixed. Still works great on music and photos.

JACKO  Works great, on my system, for pictures and music. I had some problems, with the movies, and am waiting on a support response. My thought is that it might have something to do with network and how the movies are streamed. I don't have any issues with AppleTV doing the same tasks.

STRUCTAURAL  Works great for me. Running 1.72, worked well under my 30 mins demo (though had to restart it a few times to iron out router problems).

If your router (mine is a Sagem - used with Wanadoo/Orange) doesn't support uPnp (like mine), then the port opening detailed above (I'll resupply as one of the above posts is incorrect) worked for me and stopped the Protocol error). Helpful also it to make sure the PS3 is running when you start up medialink:

open ports:

TCP: 9386

UDP: 9385

I think it would be good for the developer to readme.txt this information, or stick it on their website.

RUNCITER  HI everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I'm new to PS3 players. I bought the new PS3 "slim" yesterday and downloaded Medialink to my Macbook (which has the brand new leopard 10.6). I see medialink on my PS3 but all my folders are empty and I get (only from time to time) a DLNA 2000 error. I have a Linksys router that supports N and I tried going over my wi-fi network and connecting an ethernet cable to the router from my PS3. I made sure that iTunes, iPhoto and file sharing are all allowed on my Mac. I disabled my firewall, as well. Why is it that I can't see any media files (just empty folders) on my PS3? This is really frustrating and I'll greatly appreciate any insight or help someone can provide.

Thanks!

Runciter

JACKO  Agreed! Without repeating everything else that was stated so eloquently and truthfully, by Gakesmith, an upgrade charge is a huge insult.

JACKO  The upgrade policy on this bites a bit. I paid the upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5. It was $39.95. There was a free upgrade with little or no feature set change to 1.6. Now, they're charging $69.95 to go from any version under 1.6 to 1.7. That means that, if you were a faithful user that went from 1.0 to 1.5, you are now being asked to pay a higher upgrade price of $69.95 for a .1 upgrade. Do I need to upgrade? No. Do I sometimes upgrade to help out Apple Developers financially because of their support for the Mac Community? Yes. However, the upgrade or the price has to make sense. In this case, neither does.

CHUCK ROGERS  Our update policy has not been reported correctly here.

Anyone with 1.5 or later can upgrade to iListen 1.7 for $39.95. But they must have version 1.6.8 on the machine in order to install the 1.7 update. Upgrading from version 1.5 to 1.6 is free.

Anyone who does not want to bother with the free upgrade to from 1.5 to 1.6.8, or who has a version of iListen prior to version 1.5 can upgrade for $69.95.

We feel this is fair, considering that iListen users had to pay $39.95 to go from versions prior to 1.5 up to 1.5 or 1.6. It still represents an almost $10 savings over what it would have cost to purchase and apply both updates.

We reviewed this policy carefully and feel it provides a benefit to our pre-Mac OS X users, while remaining fair to those who have kept up with their updates.

In its history MacSpeech has only charged for updates twice. I think that is pretty good for a company that has been around for 6 years!
