ITTY This version includes some nice additions. The Growl option is useful to those who like Growl. However there is still one glaring omission that is still missing from the original version and that is the Shutdown option in the Batch Tasks options. Why this was removed is a mystery to me. I still use Main Menu v.1.7.4 because of this. I like to run Main Menu at night as part of my shutdown procedure. With v.2.03 I have to stand around and wait for the Computer to restart so I can then shut it down and leave for the night. At least they are listening and have added all the old features back (except one) and also have added in some new ones. When they add back the Shutdown option, then they will have a product that's worth the money, to me. (Version 2.0.3)

Mac DVDRipper Pro | Nov 12 2009 |
ITTY Best bang-for-the-buck in it's category. The only ripper that could back up Pixar's Up with no hassles. Simple DVD back up for an unbeatable price. (Version 1.4.5)

RipIt | Nov 12 2009 |
ITTY Still the best at what it was designed to do. The fastest, easiest way to back up a DVD. It will need another update to handle the recently released Pixar's UP. But for every other disk I have tried, RipIt comes thru with flying colors. (Version 1.3)

ITTY All Macs are 64bit since mid to late 2006. Xeon and Core2 (Merom and up) cpu's are 64bit. Early Intel Macs (Core2 Yonah) cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard. (what would be the point?) If you are on an early '06 or earlier Mac-Intel machine then you get to save yourself $40 on the Fusion 3 upgrade. (Version 3.0)

SuperDuper! | Oct 14 2009 |
ITTY The best keeps getting better. I first bought this while waiting for Retrospect to get ''fixed''. Since then, I've dumped Retrospect (after using it and it's progenitors for over 20 years) and now use SuperDuper along with Toast (and it's disk spanning ability) to effectively replace Retrospect altogether. Runs great under Snow Leopard, and I especially like the new Backup on Connect feature. But most importantly, unlike Retrospect, SuperDuper is very stable, reliable and consistent. (Version 2.6.2)

Mac DVDRipper Pro | Sep 29 2009 |
ITTY Works as advertised. A good alternate to Ripit at half the price. But also twice as slow. [Monsters vs Aliens: Ripit = 28 mins, MDRP = 47 mins] In my opinion the extra 10 bucks for Ripit is worth it just for the time savings. But that's just my preference. If speed is not an issue then DVDRipper is the best value of all the rippers out there. (Version 1.4.4)

Mac DVDRipper Pro | Oct 23 2009 |
ROBBNASHVILLE I have both RipIt and Mac DVDRipperPro. I like them both fine. I do admit that I use RipIt more; but I think it's because I had it first and got used to it. It may be faster, as you say; I can't say I've really noticed since I wait until I'm busy doing something else to use either one. I will say though that I've had a couple of DVDs that RipIt could not process that Mac DVDRipper Pro handled flawlessly. The big news in all this for me is Elgato Turbo.264 HD. I don't burn DVDs; I use the software to rip them and make AppleTV files with the Elgato encoder and included software. Talk about fast! A 2-hour movie would take, well 2 hours, in most programs; using the Elgato method, it takes about 40 minutes or even less. (Version 1.4.5)

Retrospect | Jul 23 2009 |
ITTY They really are trying hard to make me not buy this upgrade. Still no DVD support. I have a bank of DVD burners just for Retrospect. But this new version still does not support optical media and will not, apparently, any time soon. (Version 8.1.150)

MainMenu | Jul 13 2009 |
ITTY Loved using MainMenu v.1x primarily for the automatic shutdown upon completion of Cron tasks. I was looking forward to v.2 and the additional features. The new menu layout works well and the new features are great. But for some reason, the preference settings of Restart and Shutdown have been removed. The only reason I used MainMenu was for it's automation feature. I could run it at the end of the day and it would shut down the computer when finished. I did not have to hang around and wait to manually click a button before shutting down. Without the automatic shutdown or reboot functions, the product is now useless to me. I might as well use Onyx. Hopefully these functions will be restored in the next update? (Version 2.0)

JOSHK Downgrade (upgrade is more like it) to the free version while it's still available. They're only keeping it around for Panther users, but I wouldn't put it past the new "devs" to find a way to verify the OS version and cripple a 1.7.x version so that it ONLY runs on Panther forcing those with newer computers to use the paid upgrade. (Version 2.0)

ITTY V 1.03 works flawlessly. They responded to my bug reports on v.1.01 almost instantly. Found the problems and fixed them. Then issued an update within hours. (v.1.02 Great support. Well worth the $15, and a must have for any Photoshop user. (Version 1.03)

ITTY Perhaps reading first then posting would be better? Check both posts and the versions numbers. The developer responded to the bugs and squashed them in a matter of hours. Shoe taste good? (Version 1.03)

ITTY They seem to be going out of their way to get rid of small-size users. I've been a customer since the '80's when the original product was called DiskFit. But now the single-user has to jump through hoops to make what should be a simple installation. Then there's the overly complex interface. Chalk me up to another customer lost to ChronoSync. ITTY Wow, they work fast. v. 1.02 is running great. Paid my $15, got the key in less than 3 minutes. Great little app and sooo much better than running a Java app. their website says it all. Simple and easy to use. Should be in every Photoshop Pro's toolkit. If they add full brush preview export, then there will be no need for ABRView anymore. [not that I'm complaining about a free app but Java is clunky]. If you use a lot of different Photoshop brushes in your workflow, then Brush Pilot is a necessity. (Version 1.02)

Brush Pilot | Jun 25 2009 |
ITTY Installed on a MacBook running 10.5.7 and could not successfully launch the app. Unexpected Quit after a few bounces. So no rating yet. There's a freebie java app; ABR-VIEWER, that works, albeit a little clunky, creating thumbnails and previews at user-choose-able sizes. I use Expression Media[iView] to catalog the full screen size previews. I'll be glad to take another look at Brush Pilot when it's compatible with Leopard. Mac version of ABR-View = http://www.easyelementsextra.com/ABRView.jar Use this link if you need a solution now, and Brush Pilot doesn't work for you, at the moment, either. I hope Brush Pilot will be fixed because ABR viewer requires JAVA and is a little funky to work with. A bona-fide Mac app will be most welcome. Even at $15. (Version 1.01)

ITTY Does not work with my Airport card on a Mac Book or Mac Book Pro Intel, running OS 10.5.6. Running as System Admin. The Monitor just sits there blank and the Airport Signal page does nothing either. It works with an Ethernet connection hardwired to a router, but not with an Airport card. Very odd. As this is a release candidate I'm sure this will be fixed. But I'm not going to rate it. The developer has a very high reputation for solid dependable software. (Version 2.4rc1)

ITTY Great little app. Does exactly what it was made for and does it well. Great support from the developer, and very fast response to emails. Ingenious method of solving disk problems. Compatible with DVD2OneX. All in all a valuable addition to one's ripping toolset. Also a viable alternate to MacTheRipper while awaiting the new version. Certainly the easiest to use of all the ripping options out there. Can't beat the price, either. (Version 1.1.3)

ITTY It seems that v 2.1.3 is not yet available. The zip archive and the automatic update feature within the app install v 2.1.2 only. Hopefully this is just an error that will be fixed soon? v 2.1.2 is a fine little app. So I sure this will be resolved soon. (Version 2.1.3)

ITTY The most important feature I've been wanting for years, from ANY downloader, is the ability to download images from PHP sites. (Coppermine gallery, Gallery II gallery, WordPress gallery, etc.) This is a big feature that should be proudly boasted. Now I can finally download full size images from my favorite artists galleries with lots of options. Tested on MacIntel Leopard 10.5.2 (Version 4.9.6)

ITTY Classic?! How can we run Classic? There's no Classic on current Macs. So one has to go out and find an old Power PC Mac and then an old version of OSX or even older OS9. So I guess it's not 64 bit then. ;-) Ah, maybe this is an April Fools. (Version 6.1.1 (053))

ITTY I've been using this app for over a decade and I find it indispensable. Now, with Zip archive content cataloging, it is even more useful. Much more powerful than the freebie that ships with Toast. I use this a lot more often than Spotlight to find files on my Mac. For a beta I have found it to be remarkably stable. Looking forward to upgrading when the final version ships. (Version 2.4b6)

JETFIREDX I think the problem is that their betas should not be public in the condition they have been recently. I am sure many people are like me and when I see an update on MacUpdate and I try it - beta or not. (After I do a complete back up of course.) So it is not a huge problem for me to go back.
I just think they should have fewer open betas posted here until major bugs are sorted out and perhaps there would be fewer complaints from people. (Version 3.0.5060)

Parallels Desktop | Aug 24 2007 |
E_COMMERCE Yes, because they mark their final versions and betas so clearly. Hell, until recently all they posted were build numbers - good luck figuring out what was 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, etc. Quick, what version was 1970? And their support is rather lacking... (Version 3.0.5120)
