I have stated that the GUI (read: looks) is more geared at OS X 10.6 and never said the front-end is 64Bit compiled code. OS X 10.6 is all about HUD windows and therefore I opted to implement this. I also mentioned very clear the FFMPEG is Intel optimized and not the GUI. After all, FFMPEG is doing all the hard work not the frontend. The FFPMEG binary is compiled with several x86 optimizations (like enabled MMX etc..) Tests of several beta testers reported speed increases for all codecs. About Multi Core disabled by default. If you know some two bits about video encoding you surely know when using multi threads with encoding can result in artifacts. This is a known problem with all video converters. That's why it is disabled by default. I have never wrote I will abondon PPC users. Support is still valid for those users and there will be bug fixes if needed. I will release 1.4 for PPC only very soon. This will also have the new GUI. Why I do not make a synchronized UB version? Well, there are a lot of problems with the latest source and compiling it to PPC. If anyone can do this .. I will regain PPC support. But as far I know this is not doable. Hopes this clears some thing. (Version 2.0) |
