IVC DEVELOPER  Please note the stitching feature is not available in the trail version.

This is done merely because of some technical issue and a two minute trail time is too little to stitch some videos anyway.

IVC DEVELOPER  Yes, it took some time to implement. I only wanted to do this when it is possible with all codec iVC knows. As far as I know no other converter can stitch any codec to any other codec. I am quite pleased with the result.

Said this, the only file format that cannot be stitched is .m2ts. Because of several format issues it is just not possible for the moment. All other codecs are ok.

I will post a new update very soon with many improvements. Like a dedicated button on the main window for stitching, faster preparing of files, 2pass bug fix, ..

If you find any issue concerning the stitching feature please mail me at info@ivideoconverter.net

Thank you

IVC DEVELOPER  About higher bitrates.

I knew you would be happy with this. ;)

IVC DEVELOPER  Don't place such messages here. A mail to info@ivideoconverter.net would be better.

Anyway, CAT only works with avi file (that is how visualhub does it).

I will only add stitching if every codec is supported.

IVC DEVELOPER  Anyone who can give me some useful info how to stitch video files with FFMPEG can contact me at info@ivideoconverter.net

The FFMPEG -newvideo command just doesn't work very well and I only want to implement this if it works 100%.

VisualHUB stitching doesn't work very well as far as I know. For example if the source video files are short, lets say -15secs, it just overlaps the movies instead of adding them. And it also seems to work good with avi output, other codecs have several issues.

In short, if you know a good way to stitch video files with ffmpeg -> please send a mail to info@ivideoconverter.net

IVC DEVELOPER  If you want to capture some You-Tube videos without a hassle then you do not have look any further. This is just what you need.

It is simple to use and not overcomplicated like other grabbing applications.

Not that it is important but the browser passes the acid test. Just shows you the skills of the developer.

Well done Joris !

IVC DEVELOPER  To be more clear:

iTweaX 2.x is specially for OS X 10.6 or later and off-course Intel only

iTweaX 1.2.8 is for OS X 10.5.x and UB

BTW iTweaX 2.0 didn't test which OS you are running. This bug is fixed in 2.0.1

IVC DEVELOPER  Version 2.0.1 is now also available for PPC Mac. You can download this version at www.ivideoconverter.net

Theora encoding is not possible with the PPC version.

Reason: Various people reported big problems when compiling the source of Theora to PPC. ATM it is not usable for PPC.

Hopes this will bring some light to the PPC owners. :-)

Peace ..

ALEXANDER  Yes, voribs theora cannot be compiled to ppc because it doesn't like Altivec operations.

I had the same problems compiling the source. --disable-altivec didn't work either.

I really hope the devs of theora will fix this in the near future.

IVC DEVELOPER  iVC uses FFMPEG libxvid to convert to Xvid.

I have at least one users who uses iVC only for Xvid converting (seems he converters dozens of files each day - don't ask me why ;-) and he helped me a lot to get all options right.

I can assure you that they are Xvid files (VLC and Perian also shows them as Xvid).

However, FFMPEG marks ALL Xvid movies (not only the one converted with iVC) as MPEG4. Don't exactly know why. That's why iVC is marking all Xvid files as MPEG4.

FFMPEG isn't perfect :-)

IVC DEVELOPER  @ dirtyhen

I have stated that the GUI (read: looks) is more geared at OS X 10.6 and never said the front-end is 64Bit compiled code.

OS X 10.6 is all about HUD windows and therefore I opted to implement this.

I also mentioned very clear the FFMPEG is Intel optimized and not the GUI. After all, FFMPEG is doing all the hard work not the frontend.

The FFPMEG binary is compiled with several x86 optimizations (like enabled MMX etc..)

Tests of several beta testers reported speed increases for all codecs.

About Multi Core disabled by default.

If you know some two bits about video encoding you surely know when using multi threads with encoding can result in artifacts. This is a known problem with all video converters.

That's why it is disabled by default.

About PPC:

I have never wrote I will abondon PPC users. Support is still valid for those users and there will be bug fixes if needed. I will release 1.4 for PPC only very soon. This will also have the new GUI.

Why I do not make a synchronized UB version? Well, there are a lot of problems with the latest source and compiling it to PPC. If anyone can do this .. I will regain PPC support. But as far I know this is not doable.

Hopes this clears some thing.
