ISILVER Well, this is certainly not, in my experience compatible with Leopard. I've installed it made a couple of simple macros to type text and they don't work. I've read about the work-around on their website and they don't work. It's been almost two years since it was updated, it's been about a year since an update was promised so I guess we can classify this application as "abandonware"? (Version 2.2.2)

ISILVER Developer contacted me and managed to fix the stuff I wrote about below, thanks. It's working quite well at the moment now those problems are fixed (PHP4's okay now). iWeb users might find this a little tricky to install (cause you need to read the read me) and do some FTP manually but the install should be second nature for anyone who knows what FTP is. The updating process this little app uses is, in my opinion, the best around, no fuss and quick. It's probably got all the features it needs to monitor one website, perhaps being able to monitor multiple websites could be added in the future. (Version 1.0.1)

Webbla | Jun 5 2008 |
ISILVER Good little program, does what it is supposed to with stability. Personally I don't think I'd use Webbla because the bookmarks that I would spend time organising with Webbla aren't accessible by the browser (you can click a website preview in Webbla to open the browser). If Webbla could open my Safari bookmarks, let me manage them in the Webbla way and then write back the changes to the Safari bookmarks file when I have finished, now that'd be a different story. ISILVER This sounded good, so I gave it a try. Entered the configuration details, FTP'd the folders to the webserver etc. Didn't work at all. Checked settings etc, no luck, emailed developer, received canned response, still not working. Emailed developer "will it work with a .PHP index page?" no response, either they don't know or don't know how to find out ... (Version 1.0)

GAFMEDIA Hi ISILVER, we're really sorry we had a problem with our mail servers over the past few days (perfect timing... we're usually pretty quick to answer) and we did not get your emails. Everything is back in place now and we'll help you out with pleasure. Can you resend your email either by the website or directly at technical@gafmediastudio.com with the problem you facing (error message received, etc) and we'll get back to you asap. Concerning the .php page, of course LinkLite works just fine using any extension as long as it's not just a "process" or "script only" page. Once again really sorry for this short "blackout" and if ever anyone else faced a problem over the weekend please resend us your email(s). (Version 1.0)

Senuti | Mar 19 2008 |
ISILVER In iTunes I have the "iTunes Music folder location" preferences set to "Macintosh HD/Music", and in Senuti preferences I have the "Save Location" set to "iTunes Music Folder", but when I clicked on "Transfer", Senuti moved all the files to "Macintosh HD/Users/Me/Music/iTunes" which isn't the correct folder as set in iTunes preferences. Perhaps the developer could make it clearer that "iTunes Music Folder" is in the Users Music folder, not the folder indicated in the preferences. Aside from that issue, it's great thanks. ISILVER I emailed ObDev earlier about the kernel panics, just received a reply ... [quote]We appologize for the inconvenience. In rare cases this kernel panic happens during unloading the kernel module of the previous version. This bug is already fixed within 2.0.2 and will not happen again during the next update. It doesn't seem too rare though, posts about the problem here and at there forums ... (Version 2.0.2)

ISILVER yeah, yeah, I know ... sorry! "A free upgrade is offered to all users who purchased Interarchy on or after February 1, 2007 and will be notified automatically via email." (Version 9.0)

ISILVER I think the "special price" of $29 for the update is a bit extravagant - after purchasing v8.5.2 last year (for $39), there has only been a few small bug fixes before the release of v9. Now if I want to update, there is only a $10 discount. (Version 9.0)

YULETIDE Yeah, I agree!! $40 for an upgrade that's even buggier than the last release? (Which was already annoying me with the screwed up bookmarks...) Argh. Time to look at Transmit, which I can buy new for $10 less than the interarchy upgrade O_o And I'll try to find a copy of Interarchy 8 to use in the meantime. (Version 9.0)

Interarchy | Jan 18 2008 |
YULETIDE Er, I mean, yeah. For some reason I read $40, but even $30 is a lot. And I can still get Transmit for the same price as the upgrade. Not a wise way to keep customers :-\ (Version 9.0)

GarageBuy | Aug 24 2007 |
ISILVER I registered three tokens successfully but still kept getting an error telling me my user/pass were wrong - but there doesn't appear to be anywhere in GarageBuy to enter my eBay password without getting another token ... never had any issues with GarageSale, this is a bit of a disappointment. ISILVER Great stuff, thanks to the developer for this great piece of software. Thanks to my ISPs convoluted charging system, I'd like to be able to monitor my bandwidth which is split into two streams, "Day" gives me 10GB download between midday and midnight and "Night" gives me 10GB from Midnight to Midday. When Night allocation is drained it reduces from the Day allocation. (Version 2.0.1)

Drive-in | Mar 8 2007 |
GMINATO I picked out two DVDs, and couldn't get either converted to DVD. The first, "Edgeplay - The Runaways Movie" was found in the Amazon database (which is where I brought it) but DriveIn complained about not being able to do something to the CSS, the second, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2 Disc Deluxe Edition" wasn't found in the database, must be because it is a Region 4 disc ... Maybe I'll try again later ... maybe I won't, maybe I'll give the other apps suggested a go instead. (Version 1.0.0.57)

EyeConnect | Feb 25 2007 |
GMINATO This is an Ok program, i like that it is a Pref Pane and not an application, this seems to keep it more accessible for the UPnP player to access (I seem to quit application based servers by accident). I also like that it can access all files on the Mac and not just those in the User folder, this is the main problem with the software that came with my device. Stability is good, no freezing issues when navigating or loading files. GUI on the TV is pretty plain (that's common), generic blue background no icons, shows a good number of lines. Navigation is quicker and more responsive than some other servers too. Bad Points - doesn't play FLACs and it is a tad expensive (€50). At that price I'll wait and see what happens with this program over the next 6-12 months, hopefully the developers will realise that there is an opportunity here to become THE UPnP server on the Mac if they do it right.
