Zac Cohan or acqualia.com have not cheated me.

A change of heart all round. Mr Cohan and Acqualia have given free upgrades to people who purchased after April 1st, 2008, including MacZot buyers.

Thank you.

I would never have bought at MacZot had I known that version 1.04 would jump to version 2.0, 12 days later and required another $12.95 for the upgrade.

It should state clearly on the auto-update dialog that this is a paid-for upgrade.

I will not trade with Zac Cohan or acqualia.com again. I don't like being cheated.

I don't know if your question was just light hearted or 'truth in jest' but if you add a hard drive to the Privacy list (System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy) Spotlight will stop searching it. Whether this actually disables Spotlight, I don't know.

I have had this unstoppable schedule record 'feature' and the weird, time-shift of the scheduled record time which means I record another show. This app is total frustration and disappointment. It's been six months since its release and it still is an alpha that shouldn't be for sale. The best fix I've found is to uninstall it -- and after I paid for it, too :(

I downloaded this update from:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac

You need Office for Mac 11.4.0 update installed first. I checked that by looking in the Updater Logs folder in:

/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Updater Logs

Alternatively do a 'Get Info' [Cmd-I] on the file:

/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Microsoft Component Plugin

and see what version it is.

Like other, Microsoft AutoUpdate no longer works for me. The recent update to AutoUpdate was for Office 2008 only.

I click to download a demo, fill in my email and country and I am taken to some flash demos that say I get a special offer if I watch them. I then get an email saying, " You recently requested a flash demo about Readiris Pro 11 features." NO I DID NOT, I wanted to download a demo of the application. If you don't do one, don't offer one.

The offer is $59.99-US/Canada, EUR99.99-Rest of World = GBP76.60 or $155.51. What type of special offer is it that insultingly, over charges the Rest of the World?

You can keep your product and your 'special' offer insult.

MacUpdate have updated the description now from "To receive future product updates, you must install this update." to "To receive future Office 2008 updates, you must install this update." ...a bit of a difference!

Like you, I found out the hard way.

For Office 2008:

Microsoft site says, "Applies To: Developer Tools, Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Expression, Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office, Office, Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac, Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 for Mac"

Won't work on Office 2004.

I bought a discounted MacJournal version 4. Eight weeks later MarinerSoftware release version 5. I paid for the upgrade because I was pleased with the software. I then found out that they offered free upgrades to ALL customers who bought a product within the previous three months. One email to MarinerSoftware and they gave me a full refund. This is quality customer service.

I know nothing about BitTorrent. Following the clear Help instructions in Transmission, I have been able to get started and even get a green light on the Incoming TCP port which has improved data speeds. The Help is well written and concise. The interface is simple and straight forward to use. I have looked at Azureus but Transmission is the choice for me.

The cost of this upgrade is too much for me to continue financing this product. Count me out.

Version 3 is a massive improvement for me. I use iChat screen-sharing to help my Dad use his iMac. Version 3 of Mousepose allows me to show and have sounds for the mouse clicks independently of the 'spotlight' focus on the cursor feature. Left and right clicks are shown with different colours which all helps when showing someone what to do. The new window focus morphing into the cursor 'spotlight' is very smart and a great improvement that I had never even considered. All this means that I have upgraded to the family license without a second thought.

Leopard broke the Canon software for my CanoScan LiDE 20 and Canon no longer supports this model. The good thing about this, is that I have discovered VueScan which does work with the LiDE 20 and Leopard.

Happily, I have found it much easier and faster to work with than the original Canon scanning app which has soften the blow of having to buy yet more software.

I'm really please to have bought this app. I have used it more than I was expecting and for the cost of the time that it has saved me, it has already paid for itself.

I like that I don't have to work out how to use this app. I just drop my file on the window and the jobs done. A folder appears on my desktop with all the found resources nicely organised in folders with index.html previews of all the images.

File Juicer has enabled me to rework Word docs, PowerPoint Files and PowerPoint Shows full of images, PDFs and corrupted PDFs as well as Windows files that I was unable to open at all. I have been able to get to the data I needed with the minimum of fuss.

Have you seen Doozla by Plasq? This is much more Kids orientated with the addition of sounds, colour-in outlines and background to draw on.

This is clearly aimed at children. With sounds when choosing from the tools palette and the option of a blank sheet, colour-in outlines or attractive backgrounds to draw on.

This is a beautifully crafted app and would be my choice for young children (for my adult doodling needs I prefer Scribbles).

I got this as part of the MUPromo Bundle 2. So far, I have used it for file management between my internal and external hard drives. I like the two vertical panel interface; it is very logical for me. I like the open spacing of the lists. For what I do, I much prefer it over Path Finder. It lacks QuickView at the moment which will be in version 2, apparently.

A feature that I am using a lot is the Delete App button. For a quick way to remove apps, I have found that it is more successful than AppZapper at removing apps and their associated files. ForkLift finds cache, logs and receipt files that AppZapper doesn't touch. In one case, ForkLift didn't pick up an PDF Services alias' that AZ did, but AZ missed all the others.

ForkLift has been stable for me on Leopard for how I have used it.

I struggled to copy and paste with this app. The swanky interface soon became a swanky interference. I bought this as a half price add-on sale when buying another app. Unfortunately, I didn't test it before buying and soon learn to regret the purchase.

I couldn't move clips between groups. The clip previews didn't. I found using the app a fight and uninstalled it with AppZapper, the other half of my purchase.

The strap line for this product is, 'The ultimate clipboard manager'. Unfortunately the marketing people haven't used this app because even they would baulk at this claim.

1. You cannot move clips between Projects.

2. You cannot select non-contiguous clips.

3. You cannot select, delete or paste multiple clips.

4. You cannot edit clips.

In short, you cannot manage clips. It stores a clip history that can quickly become unmanageable.

5. It is buggy.

6. It is beta ware that is being sold for $20 until 2008 and then they want $30 -- for a beta!

Yes, put the product out to get feedback and free beta testing but charging for this turns my stomach.

It has a pretty, eye-candy interface. Unfortunately, eye-candy has become the software panacea for substance.

There is a long way to go for this product to live up to its claim.

Scribbles is breath-taking. It is the easiest drawing application I have ever used. It is beautifully smooth in every operation. The level of image scaling is unbelievable. Everything is so obvious. I am delighted with it. I bought it immediately.

Scribbles is for freehand drawing and sketching. It is the nearest thing to pen and paper that I have experienced but with the added magic that a computer can bring such as layering and undos. It does not have complex operations and filters but for me this is it's pleasure.

I'm totally delighted that I bought GhostReader. It reads superbly well with Leopard's Alex voice. It's great for reading webpages when I'm tired of reading them myself. I've set it to read the text under my cursor when I press the Control key.

GhostReader is extremely useful for proof-reading emails and forum text entries before I post them. It picks up correctly spelled words that are the wrong word in context--like 'no' instead of 'on' which I easily overlook.

I have done some more tests with Tagebuch. I find that if I do a search on Content, Tagebuch finds nothing and will not be able to make any other searches, either on Entry or Tag.

I have to quit Tagebuch and re-launch. If my searches are only on Entry or Tags then Tagebuch will find the appropriate Entries. But should I search at any time on Content, I will need to quit Tagbuch to make any more successful searches with Entry or Tag.

If my first search in Tagebuch is a Content search, Tagebuch will appear not to be able to do any searches. It seems best to avoid the Content search at the current time.

I have recorded a 3 minute video showing this problem and have uploaded it here:

I find Search does not work at all. I'm using Leopard 10.5.1 on an Intel MacBook Pro.
