MPEG Streamclip

HOTFUSION  Maybe it was just me. I just tried it again and it's working fine. I had a few niggling problems with a couple of apps after upgrading that seem to have been fixed with a permissions repair, so maybe that's all there was to it. Thanks though...

HOTFUSION  Oh, I see. Because some people use it for illegal purposes, I'm supposed to feel guilty when I do NOTHING ILLEGAL with it?

Typical BUSYBODY ethics.

I suppose you don't drive a car either (sense some people do illegal things with those too).

HOTFUSION  You know what I'm doing right now?

I'm rubbing my thumb and index finger together.

The World's smallest violin playing for all the "Artists" who have been forced to discover THAT THE WORLD IS UNFAIR.

If they can't make a living with their "talents" then they need to learn to type, there's ALWAYS a demand for typists.

HOTFUSION  Does Yellow Dog support booting from a Mirrored RAID Array yet?

I realize that is more of a question for the Yaboot developers, but this is one of the reasons that I use Mac OS X on my Home Server instead of YDL.

Other than that, YDL has always been a great consumer OS, so long as you don't attempt to tinker a lot. Out of the box it works great.

Adobe InDesign CS4

HOTFUSION  I've also heard about InDesign CS2 not working in Leopard, but I can tell you for sure and certain that it does work. I'm using it right now.

Now, I'm not going to tell you I use it for much more than laying out a few pages (I don't use many, if any of the bells and whistles) so there may very well be specific things that don't work in Leopard that I'm just not using.

But, on the whole, InDesign CS2 does launch and work in Leopard.

HOTFUSION  You can make fun of MTR, but their secrecy is largely why it still exists.

If this is allowed to continue for another year, I'll eat your hat.

It's simply to public.

HOTFUSION  I believe the reason the option to "disable checksum on dmgs" is grayed out on Mac OS 10.5 systems is because you can now do that through Disk Utility.

Launch Disk Utility and go to Preferences under the Disk Utility menu.

3ivx MPEG-4
May 14 2006

HOTFUSION  To the two who complained about "No Application in the package"; it is a Quicktime CODEC!

You simply open the movie in QuickTime Player and the CODEC decodes it.

P.S. When installed, the 3ivx CODEC is also available to any QuickTime aware application.

Geesh...
