JIMW  I support and applaud your philosophy. However you might also wish to look at my favorite alternative - AppTrap. It resides in your system as a Pref Pane and requires no launching in order for it to do its job. It just works as part of the OS.

This is Reggie the Developer for AppDelete. Thank you for your comments. Just to let you know that AppDelete 2.0 can also be set to run in the background and it will monitor your Trash as well. If an app is placed in your Trash AppDelete will activate and ask you to delete the associated items...

JIMW  While I appreciate this information from the Developer as it gives everyone a better idea of what its capabilities are, I was in error when replying to the original commenter as it looks like I clicked on the wrong reply. The reply was actually meant for the previous commenter, Albfan who commented about deleting AppDelete with AppCleaner.
