GREGLYNN Fan Control 1.2 works great on my MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo 2.0GHz. Was running 164F or hotter prior, now when set to better energy savings plus the fan control, I am seeing consistent 144F, which is a huge win on longevity for certain components such as the battery and hard drive. Fans run 3500-4200 speeds, so there is white noise whereas prior there was no noise, but in a room where the tv is on, you barely hear the fans and the sound is not annoying. Also the top area around the track pad is not heating up like it used to, another thermal win. I left the baseline fan speed at 1500, reduced the max temp to 158 and left the low temp at 122. Now fan life may be lessened, but with a 3 yr warranty, let em fail :-) They really should not fail if the QC was done right, but fans are a weak point in PCs.
