About graphic_innovations
Long time Mac Evangelist, Computer Scientist, Graphic Artist. I have no patience for people who write nothing but negative reviews, especially when it is clear the error sits on the operator's side of the desk (Yes, I mean you 'Notafool'). To all the small time developers out there; keep up the great work! You are the reason I started programming and continue to do so!

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  There is a guide online -- on the developer's website:

Enjoy!

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Ah ok, so you went to the home page, read the manual and are still lost? Well, I guess there is no helping you. For me, typing in addresses with my keyboard is trivial. This version behaves exactly as the game console version, not sure what to tell you.

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  I have to agree with the last commenter - The developer did not 'write' this software, he has simply ported it. It has been around for years on the xbox, and going to the project's main page for pertinent information would be logical. That aside, I found the software to be quite intuitive... Every button performed the expected action, and adding external server sources was as easy as typing in their addresses... So what was it you didn't understand?

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Great software, can't wait for an update for 2.4.3 :)

As to the last commenter... I'm curious, how would this violate end user rights since you are not actually using your blizzard account at all? Since you can buy the game and not create an account with blizzard, I'm curious how they would ban you... from what, your own computer? When using a private server, you are not using anything belonging to blizzard, just your own copy of the game and your own private server.

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  I hear ya, but why is it insane to have developed a propriety format? It seems to me that everyone else does -- i.e. Microsoft with EVERYTHING they make, and pages files support a lot more stuff than MS Office files do (hence needing a new format). Not to mention the fact that converting .pages to .doc is already built in to Pages in the first place!! The real point though is that while it would be nice if there was a true official universal document standard beyond .txt and .rtf/rtfd its not that case (yet), and I see no reason why Apple should use Microsoft's document format as the standard.

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Ok, I see your point about not wanting to have to use a disc. But come on... that review is a bit harsh. Don't MANY other mainstream mac games still require discs? Everything from Starcraft (in the day) to C&C Generals, Etc... Do you watch DVDs without the discs? Using your optical drive as intended certainly wont do much harm, and considering that the game most likely does not actively use the disc for play, rather for legitimate purchase verification (X-PLANE!) it hardly spins the disc up in the first place. Why not review the software on its merits and not its (simple) protection scheme?

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  It was an April Fool's JOKE! Why would you berate Ambrosia for making one of the best (harmless) prank apps ever? Is it because you're an idi0t and fell for it and are not a mature enough person to admit a good prank?

Race into Space

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  This game brings me back to me youth on the Apple II! I love it, I've gotten quite addicted. This is from an era where games were NOT intuitive, and were just plain difficult. These days, games hand-hold you though the whole process, leaving little to be discovered.

This game has frustrated me countless times, yet I keep coming back to try again! Those of you who played any of the Gradius games (Especially 3) will know the feeling I'm talking about.

When it comes down to it, the game is very simple. A little bit of strategy and planning mixed with a bit of micro management. Turn based play ala Civ 2, but your building up a space program from the ground up!

My only complaint is with un-uniform key commands. I wish escape was the universal cancel/back key. Currently, escape is sometimes cancel/back, and other times you must use 'e'. Other times there is no key at all, and you must use interface buttons.

Glad to see classics like this being kept alive. Good work. Oh yeah, net play is a slick addition!

Biofilm

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Very neat game. Many shareware games of this sort do not have the polish this game shows; It feels very clean and well planned.

I purchased BioFilm after playing the demo about 5 times! It was worth the money, I have a hard time going to the movies for $18 where I live, and this game gave me many more hours of entertainment.

Things I would love to see in the future:

- Better handling of 2 finger scrolling on macbook

- Additional units

- Network Play

- Level Editor

I know thats asking a lot, but I can see this game becoming quite addictive with some more goodies!

The whole concept of exponential cellular growth is something that I thought would make a neat game for years. I'm glad a more talented programmer than myself had the same idea!

BTW: Despite the readme's rec. that I play the game on low quality, High Quality runs perfectly on my 2Ghz MacBook @ 1280x800. Great work!

I give it 4 stars now, and 5 when network support / level editor is added; at that point, what's left to add? :)

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Nice screen saver! Very creative idea. I only wish the pictures used were a big higher res -- When sitting in front of my cinema display, they're a little jaggy :(

Fantastic otherwise, would recommend!

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Best mac Bittorrent Client! One would think with all of the wonderful interface elements that this would be a resource hog. NOT AT ALL! Extremely low memory/process usage even through rosetta! I'm impressed and will never use another client. Can't wait for the Universal Binary version!

Since development is apparently dead, i don't expect a UB version soon.

The forum is dead. No updates have been made to the website since 2005.

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  You know, I hate it when people make comments like this. How about this: The developer will ship a 1.0, then never update it. Better? Why don't you buy a windows box so you can get your jollies waiting 6 years in-between updates. Don't make useless comments like this, for any software. It just makes you look like a little bitch.

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  This game IS well worth the price. The graphics are top notch for this style of game. The particle effects are outstanding, characters are hilarious, the plot is very cute, and the gameplay very addicting. I bought the first game in the series a few years ago and bought this one right away after playing the demo. Kepp up the GREAT work Freeverse!

GRAPHIC_INNOVATIONS  Yeah, you really should research before posting silly comments like that. Optimization is a generic term, and in the case of OS X apps optimizing at the end of an install, that has nothing to do with defrag... At All. That has to do with prebinding information and it improves application launch speed. OS X will auto defrag for small files (20 megs or less), but it would be impossible to do that large files (21 meg - 500Gig, etc...) on the fly as it would severely affect performance and I imagine drive life as well. This app is great as it clusters like file together, so the access time require by your HD to jump from like file to like file, or to playback a LARGE media file is reduced.

Any application that moves massive amounts of data around on your harddrive has the risk messing it up (as killing the power mid-defrag would be terrible), but this is true of ANY app that is extensively using your drive and or is moving system components around. This is why the developer suggests backing up first. Carbon Copy Cloner is great for this, as it will create a bootable backup image of your system.

My final comments: This is a great app for optimization of HD data. I have a pair of 500 gig drives filled to the brim with files, and both see their contents exchanges regularly. Thus, the optimization that iDefrag provides is a huge service in reducing latency while browsing / viewing / editing my data. Good work guys, keep it up.
