GENGHISCOHEN Like the description says, this is a hex editor. If you don't know what that is, you don't need it. Seriously, it's primarily a tool for developers, although it can also be used to "crack" applications in order to pirate them. (Version 0.07a)

FOOFOORABBIT Yes, obviously...but what's with the user interface? I've never seen a developer go through the extraordinary lengths to create a Linux/Windows like custom window to have the window widgets on the right. Like you said, this is a hex editor...there are already tons of excellent hex editors on Mac OS X (HexFiend comes to mind)...why did the developer feel like creating such an atrocious port when there are already many quality ones on OS X. HERMIT @foofoorabbit - there is an explanation for all your questions on the program's website. It would help keep the information an reviews on this site useful if the people that wish to make them could at least look at the program's web site before posting. True, it is longer than your average twitter, so I can see how that would be taxing... (Version 0.07a)

Microsoft Office 2008 | Aug 12 2008 |
GENGHISCOHEN Well, I'm another "victim" of Microsoft's moronic installer. Instated of reinstalling Office and rerunning all the g__d___ updates, has anyone had any luck using Pacifist to install the update? (Version 12.1.2)

GENGHISCOHEN Well, it's improved. It went from downloading nothing and telling me they had all succeeded, to downloading 5 out of 8 and still telling me that all 8 had succeeded. It's not perfect yet, but it is making progress. (Version 1.1)

TESSERACT SOFTWARE Could you tell me which URL's specifically were reported to succeed but in fact failed so that I may try to duplicate the problem and find a solution? You can reply to this message or email me at tesseractsoftware[at]gmail[dot]com. (Version 1.1)

Default Folder X | May 13 2006 |
GENGHISCOHEN Some handy features in this utility, but hardly enough to be worth $35. If the developer dropped his price to about $5, then it would be a reasonable value. (Version 3.0)

FOULGER Cheapskate! If you only have $5 to spend, you should be owning a PC not a Macintosh. Try to develop a sophisticated Preference Pane like this and see if you could sell it for $5 and keep continually updating it and providing fast E-Mail response. I doubt it! (Version 3.0)

Default Folder X | May 13 2006 |
NEUTRALZONE I am a user of Default Folder since the OS 9 days. The feature set of Default Folder is very deep now, especially compared to the early days, and compared to other similar utilities. You can't get software anywhere near $5 that does what Default Folder does. If your hourly time is worth anything, $35 isn't much because Default Folder can save you many hours of navigation over the course of a year. A Mac without it just feels wrong. (Version 3.0)

Default Folder X | May 14 2006 |
CREATIVEGUY If you think this software is worth only $5, then you obviously have never even tried it! This is the first app I install on any new machine since back in the early OS9 days, and it's one of the ONLY apps I install every update for. Even the upgrade fee (the first time I've ever had to pay one, by the way) is worth the $$$ for this app! (Version 3.0)

FARIBORZ What you say is that the developer and his family should live on peanuts from now on! How do you expect a brilliant brain that has brought such a unique application to our Mac community run only on peanuts?! Come on! Default Folder is a nifty program that has been a veteran for so many long years and has proved to be one of the best utilities ever around. It surely deserves more than a cheap $5.00 tag! BLULOO You are out of your mind. This app adds VERY useful features to OS X. Granted, it would be nice if Apple had this built in, but it's indispensable. (Version 3.0)

LimeWire | Nov 16 2004 |
GENGHISCOHEN And their beta page ALSO lists 4.1.10 as the latest version. Can anyone confirm that the download link does give you a download of version 4.2? (Version 4.2)

GENGHISCOHEN Is someone playing a joke on MacUpdate? XCode 1.2 has been out for more than 2 months now (release date 3-17-04). Any reviews/comments that are dated 5-25 must be taken as uninformed. (Version 1.2)

JKISH2 If it's been out for so long, why am I still stuck at Xcode 1.1? For some reason, it still hasn't shown up in my Software Update window nor do I really want to download all the segmented image files for the whole CD. Was there ever an update posted on ADC? If so, where can we find it? (Version 1.2)

Apple Xcode | May 26 2004 |
YAZARIM I did not (and will not) write any comment or review, but probably *you* are badly informed. I saw this software update this morning, not one minute before, and since then I have spent my life downloading 21 files, each of about 30 MB. Could I have written a review *before* knowing that the update was available? Do you receive informations from angels? Really lucky... (Version 1.2)

Apple Xcode | May 26 2004 |
PARTWAYTHERE The files on the ftp server are dated April 21st. I installed Xcode 1.0 from CD earlier this month, and Software Update alerted me to the 1.1 Update. To those having trouble downloading the segments, don't try to do more than one at a time. If you have connection problems, try another site. If you get a piece or few then can't get more, log out then back in. I believe the developer site generates new passwords every 15 minutes. I got the segments in about half an hour on a fairly fast connection. But I haven't figured out how to join them. The READ ME .pdf file speaks only of a single image file. No luck yet with Disk Utility, Toast 5/6, or Stuffit Expander. Could someone tell me what works? (Version 1.2)

Apple Xcode | May 28 2004 |
RORY I remember I recently saw JigSaw 1.2 come out on the MacUpdate list. the description said, "Join segmented files." Try searching for it. (Version 1.2)

Apple Xcode | Jul 22 2004 |
ANONYMOUS PartWayThere - Expand only the binary with the shortest name to get an image file. Mount that image. It will get all it needs from the other binary segments. (Version 1.2)

Apple Security Update | Jul 23 2003 |
GENGHISCOHEN Read the description - it fixes a security flaw in Workgroup Manager, which is a SERVER program. Don't believe me? Then try and install it on OS X 10.2.6 client. It will tell you that none of your drives meet the requirements. (Version 2003-07-23)
