GEEPZ  I like it. You do have to change the theme, but there are some good ones available. I hope this continues to be supported as an alternative to Firefox. It is very fast on old machines and it's nice to have the e-mail client built-in. Hopefully more developers will get involved. The all-in-one approach definitely has life left in it, but the components could use a major update (think Flock).

GEEPZ  Fast, stable, essential. The best bet for old pros. And novices.

Some of the new features feel like clutter, but it still works on 10.2.8, so I'll go back to being a productive and grateful customer.

Thanks!

GEEPZ  One of my favorite programs (LaunchBar is good too). Does a lot of small things well and can be adapted to a variety of personal work styles. Works great on 10.2.8 too (despite the warning).

A couple examples: It can be used to create a Linux-style system menu or an Openbox-style floating system menu. It can be used to launch scripts or applications from menus or with keyboard shortcuts. It can be used to launch applications or navigate directories with abbreviations (LaunchBar is faster). It can be used to create and manage multiple clipboards, or custom clipboards. It can be used to navigate open applications. It can be used to put the computer to sleep. Etc.

It's not the fastest interface utility, but it's by far the most flexible. Great stuff.

GEEPZ  Forgot:

By default (in my case), WeatherBug displayed in the Status Bar (not as a Tool Bar). You can change this in its preferences and, if you choose to display it as a toolbar, you will be able to use the View options to hide it.

As you noticed, this could have been handled better.

GEEPZ  You're being overly harsh.

That said, "Firebug" is an extension and it can be uninstalled in Tools > Addons. It also leaves lines in ~/Library/Application Support/Navigator/Profiles/?.default/prefs.js that you may want to remove (carefully).

I didn't like it either, but it worked fine on my machine.

Best of luck ...

GEEPZ  [733 MHz PowerPC G4 running 10.2.8]

My new default browser. Feels snappier than Firefox 2.0.0.7, lacks a few of its minor irritations. All my extensions worked (with the exception of ForecastFox Enhanced). A nice, compact default theme (although extension icons stick out like a sore thumb). This is great work and I hope they keep it up. Worth a test drive, but I don't think it will convert any Camino users.

In some ways, I wish they would have put their efforts into SeaMonkey. It would be nice to see the all-in-one approach pick up more steam, both as an alternative to Firefox and as a competitor to Opera.
