GARLICBREATH Don't work no more :( Web site must have changed (Version 1.2.2)

GARLICBREATH Used to be able to select black and white as the color space for the saved file, which saved about half the file size when saving as PNG. Better for emailing. Now files are saved as 32-bit/millions of colors. Can this be changed? (Version 1.2)

GARLICBREATH Tried this newest version on my Intel iMac Core 2 Duo running 10.4.11. Thought it was working fine. After an hour or so, I noticed a high percentage of CPU usage (I have iStat menus running). TotalTunes was using 100% while in the background. Am I the only one with this problem? (Version 2.0.8)

GARLICBREATH This is the first time I've tried this program. I like it, except there seems to be a problem. CPU usage has grown from around 25% and now is close to 60%. iMac core 2 duo 10.4.11 (Version 2.0.4)

FLORIAN-MUC Sorry about that! Please just download the zip again. Due to some build problem the first 3.0 version did not work on Tiger. It should now work fine. Boinx Software. (Version 3.0)

GARLICBREATH Since I "upgraded" to the latest version of quicktime, Taply won't play files encoded with the Apple Lossless Codec. Can this be fixed? (Version 1.5)

GARLICBREATH If you create an encrypted archive, then try to re-expand it with the wrong password, the growl report says it has been successfully decompressed, but what has happened is that a zero-length file has been created. The worst part is that this file has over-written any existing file with the same name without any warning. At least a new file with "-1" ending or something similar should be created. There are no preferences to change this behavior e.g. warn before overwriting files, as far as I can tell. (Version 1.6.5)

TASKMAN The decompression of encrypted archives is directly handled by the compression/decompression engine. If you do not insert any password, or do not specify the correct one, it will produce 0 KB files. We have no means of changing this behaviour. Regarding the overwriting-existing-files issue, you are right: I will release an updated version of 7zX as soon as I can. (Version 1.6.5)

YemuZip | Sep 15 2007 |
GARLICBREATH Danger! This program can destroy files without warning! I was cleaning up some archives of font files. Many were .sit and .sitx and I was changing them to .zip so I wouldn't need stuffit. PC-compatible was selected, and I was getting really good compression. It turns out the compression was so good because YemuZip deleted the resource portion (I'm guessing) of the font files, totally destroying them. Luckily I do have backups, but be careful what you do! (Version 2.2)

EL-CRAVITO You have a simple alternative to create ZIP files without destroying the resource fork: Click once on the file you want to compress and then, from the Finder's File menu, choose "Create Archive". In a moment you'll have a ZIP file created in the same folder as the original file. You'll need YemuZip (or other similar application) only if you want to share compressed files with your PC-user friends. (Version 2.2.1)

ORION MK. V Uh, you need to read YemuZip's website. You can choose to include or remove resource forks in the prefs. "The Finder's Archive function makes zip files that contains Mac-specific information that, when extracted on a PC, looks like garbage. YemuZip lets you choose between a PC-compatible format and a Mac format that preserve all the Mac-specific metadata." (Version 2.2.1)

GARLICBREATH OK, I found the temp file in the trash, like it says in the manual, but using import raw data on it produced a file completely filled with noise. I changed the file's extension to FLAC, just in case, but opening it gave a corrupted stream error... I got it back. I had to select "little endian" in the import dialog. I'm glad it wasn't gone. Thanks Amadeus' developers. (Version 1.1.1)

GARLICBREATH Beware of saving in FLAC format with this version. I selected highest compression and when it was just about done, the app quit, and my recording was gone. There was nothing in the Amadeus cache folder to use "import raw data" on, only two files 4k in length. (Version 1.1.1)

MARTIN HAIRER There was a permissions problem with the original archive of Amadeus Pro 1.1.1 (for example, it would not launch from a non-admin account). The FLAC file saving problem is also related to this. I fixed this immediately and all archives downloaded after the 2nd of september should work fine. If yours doesn't save FLAC files or doesn't run on a non-admin account, please download the program again. (Version 1.1.1)

GARLICBREATH This is not working for me. I dropped a 31-minute mp3 file on it, and it shows 9:15 as the duration. I dropped a folder of music on it. Apperently there were several files without ID3 info. These files showed up nameless. It's very difficult to deal with a bunch of nameless files. Perhaps using the filename would be appropriate in these cases. (Version 0.1.2)
