Those interested in optimized Ff 3.0 builds for Intel and G5 machines can find downloads here: http://www.beatnikpad.com/ These are not my builds but I've used several 2x builds from this developer as my default browser and they've all been stable and fast. |

I downloaded what was supposed to be RC3 a few days ago and the "Get Info" on it simply said "Firefox 3.0." FWIW as of this posting "Check for Updates" says I have the latest version. |

Pardon my error about "Apple" Mail; the complaints here were about GMail problems. As far as I can see GMail works fine in this version. |

Downloaded Demeter again re developer's suggestion. After two initial crashes it remained stable. However I was unable to make the Bookmarks import work, could not access some of the preferences, and could not change the font sizes. Since I don't use Apple Mail I don't know if that problem has been fixed. |

Hate to have to say this again, but Demeter still crashes immediately upon my every attempt to open it. The earliest version at least worked for awhile. Intel MacBook 2.0 512 MB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM OS 10.4.11 |

All you need to know about RWS copyright issues is that U S Games, which holds the current copyright, will aggressively litigate against everyone and anyone they believe is violating it. And they have a lot of money to do so. |

Everything you ask for is in OmniWeb. Which is why I finally broke down and bought it and have deleted Camino from my apps. Turn off JavaScript except on the sites that require it and you have a browser almost as fast as Safari. |

The developer fails to mention that even if you could find a copy the very rare Pamela "A" deck it would cost you several hundred dollars through an auction house or eBay. |

Any Intel optimized builds available yet?
Not that 1.6 isn't blazing fast as it is. |

Same app., same error message as before when I click on it. Quite a trick to "upgrade" an application that didn't work in the first place. |

Do you have Safari open to the chosen video when you click the Safari option? |

OK, I found the downloads on my hard drive. Clicking the avi. download brings up Quick Time to play them. Looks like a great app! |

All I download is an app. with no instructions. When I click on it I get a message: "Error: Database can not be created or accessed!" What do I need to do to make this work?

I can't even get my GMail inbox with its 171 saved messages to load. Demeter needs a larger carrying capacity. |

Fully agree with previous comments. I did not download SD 5; it automatically downloaded and installed itself while I was downloading another app here. However, SD 4 was still in the Trash and I have reinstalled it and dumped SD 5. We'll see if the Developer continues to harass me with new unwanted Demo downloads.
That said, SD is a very good and useful product. It's just that it has now lost
all the good will it had previously built up over the past year. |

My Speed Download is stalling on the connection. Since most Mac owners have AppleCare there may just be too much traffic on the server right now. |

That's partially true in theory, but (a. there's more you need to do than just "Save form"; see: http://hurrikenux.com/forum/index.php?topic=52.msg211#new and (b. neither I nor anyone concerned about this has been able to make it work. |

My only big problem now with iCab (other than its inabiity to render GMail pages correctly) is that there's no password mangement function. Despite the shift to webkit iCab doesn't access the Keychain automatically and there's no feature in the browser to store passwords. For all iCab's speed it slows down work considerably to have to be continually opening the Keychain manually in order to enter secure sites that don't store permanent cookies. I understand the folks at 1Password are looking into the possibility of supporting iCab, but that would double its cost for those of us who don't need 1Password for our current browsers. I'm going to keep iCab on my MacBook in case of further improvements but I'll continue to use Demeter, which is almost as fast, as my default browser. |

Actually, I can't find any stated price for it and the Reminder simply says that if you use it regularly you should register and pay for it. It's certainly fast, though no faster than Demeter, which is free. I've been following and occasionally using iCab as my default browser since its early days, but I don't see anything in this version that isn't available in other browsers for free. |

Better a late reply than never. I really want to like Demeter but I've tried several times since my first post here to use it and have had the same problems as I mentioned originally. I suspect my particular issue may be that I have too many bookmarks accumulated over the years and that once imported they destabilize a browser with a very small a footprint (I had the same problems with Shiira.) Thanks for the link to the support forums. |

The object that downloaded onto my desktop claims to be an application but it can't be moved, opened, or sent to the Trash. Beware of downloading this without further info from the author. |

It's not just that it doesn't *show* the Bookmarks Bar; on mine that whole set of bookmarks folders has completely disappeared. I've reverted to the pre beta 2.0.0.10, which is really fast, very stable, and which retains all the extensions. The final release for 2.0.0.10 may come as soon as this week. |

Oxid is a theme developed for Camino which also works on Shiira and which can be found at PimpMyCamino. |

Despite the current race for the Gold among open source Mozilla browsers Netscape is still on top as far as I'm concerned. Now if only the designer of the Oxid icons theme would make these available for Netscape... |

That was fast! I've always found the Intel versions from PimpMyCamino to be faster than the regular releases. |

The Intel version of 2.0.0.8 recommended by jhersco is as fast to load and render as the Intel 3.0 Preview, and accepts all the current Extensions, which the Preview does not. Apparently this developer is creating Intel versions for each new Ff update as it is released, with your choice of Aqua or Firefoxy widgets. |

If all else fails you should be able to disable or delete WeatherBug from the Add-ons in the pull down Tools menu. However it seems like a reasonably good substitute for ForecastFox to me. |

I don't need a browser with this particular set of features byt it sure is fast! My current speed standard is Camino, and there's no comparison. I'm not sure I'll keep Flock (it needs an ad blocking feature like Firefox and Camino) but I'll certainly enjoy playing with it for awhile. |

Well, I downloaded and restarted but I still get ads on Safari, notably the especially annoying animated one on MyYahoo!, while it blocks half the title header on the NY Times page. More alarming, I can't Find any evidence of the existence of Mac-Zone on my HD other than the .dmg, the install package and the receipt. Without knowing what this app is exactly supposed to do (there's no instructions) I have to wait for more evidence and more feedback before I judge it. |

Whoops! Since posting my previous comment I made the mistake of closing Demeter. When I tried t reopen it al my Preferences were gone along with the imported Bookmarks. Strangely, the History was intact. I restored all my settings, closed it again, and the same thing occurred when I tried to reopen it. Worse, I found two copies of the Application itself parked in different spots on my HD. I would prefer to have reported this to the Developer but his page has no link for reporting bugs and I'm sure Apple has no interest in hearing about this browser. Sadly, I've deleted it. Should the Developer come up with some suggestions, provide a support page or even Installation instructions, I'd be willing to try it again. |

What El-Cravito said. Actually, as I recall, Shiira had a serious bug even in the original release, and it's gotten buggier with each new one. I have to say this is the first set of default icons on any browser that I've ever reallly liked. And a small footprint browser like this one (smaller even than the original Shiira) appeals to me. But there appears to be at least one major problem. Demeter isn't automatically accessing the Keychain for passwords. Have I missed a way to turn that function on? |
