This is the (sadly) ubiquitous music player for mac os x. The only reason I have it installed is to activate and backup my iphone. 1) Big, clunky intereface 2) tagging is very poorly done 3) Media stored on NAS is not natively rescannable 4) Using (the same) media from multiple location is impossible without a bit of hackery. Occasionally I use multiple machines to import music. It will appear on only the machine, without a real option to rescan the volume that it's on. 5) Playlist support is just plain lame 6) I can go on and on forever about this app and how poorly it's done. VoxApp has been a nice alternative, but the playlist support is also not great. If development on this program continues, watch out iTunes. I suggest anything else if you can deal with it.
