FROMAGE-HEAD basic layers support would be perfect. I know there is seashore but it doesn't manage curves well (I'm doing 1 pixel line-drawings), and graphic converter is nice but still doesn't manage layers. That said it's a well crafted app. I love the bomb and the extensible toolbar (ie:shapes tools) is a clever idea. Oh and patterns à la macpaint would be cool too :). (Version 2.0)

FROMAGE-HEAD The really good point of this app is the ability to have speed and correct curves wich is really really important. A lot of apps have angular curves when you draw "too fast". The pen feeling is quite right. But the absence of layers and transparency makes me prefer a piece of paper. (Version 1.3)

FROMAGE-HEAD A search on the entire library will be good (without selecting anything, maybe a preference to have this behaviour). Also there is too much crap (bezel notifications, artwork on the desktop, player in the menu) to turn off at start for a thing supposed to not interrupt my workflow. I don't need the visual in the menu too. So for now I prefer coversutra because of the better search (for my tastes). (Version 2.2.1)

FROMAGE-HEAD I also use by date added, I'm not sure there is a trick for that kind of sorting. But there is one for date sorting (creation and modification I think) by setting the date creation in a far future. So this app is just adding a "no-name" folder, I'm not sure this is so useful. But at least I discovered nice sets of stack icons. (Version 1.0)

EAGLELOUK Yes, right-click on the downloads stack, then choose "sort by > Name" Personaly, I use to sort my downloads by added date. And because my downloads folder is always empty (when I download something, I use to place the archive in the trash directly, I hate my folders being messed up), I don't really care about the stack icon position, it will came back to front anyway when I send the useless file to the trash. (Version 1.0)

Stacks In Da Place | Dec 11 2007 |
SHOCK J It appears that what this application does is simply put a folder with a custom icon inside your downloads (or documents) folder and name it " " (blank). Giving it a blank name make it always appear first if you have your stack sorted by name. If you have it sorted any other way, this trick won't work. I personally prefer my Downloads folder to be sorted by Date Added. So this doesn't really work for me. Plus, the fact you have to have a blank folder inside the chosen Stack's folder is kind of disappointing. I like to keep my stuff better organized than that. Every time I see I want to delete it. While this is an interesting "trick," I wouldn't call this a true customization, especially since it only works for 1 of the 5 sorting presents a Stack provides. (Version 1.0)

EAGLELOUK In fact, the app just added an unnamed folder, but it has been made for users who know how to made a custom stack Icon with this method, but don't want to do it with their own hands. Stacks In Da Place just spare some time. Whatever, if I can find how to make it works without creating a folder, it will be the 1.1 update then ^^ (Version 1.0)

SIMON BROWNE You can use * at any point to find all the words that start with "brown" as in "brown*". Personally I don't see the search method as lacking. If I'm looking for "brownies" I put in "brownies" - I don't want Mori to search for and find all the other irrelevant results - and if I do I use the * symbol. Once you have your folders containing "brownies", use the Jump to Next Highlight command under Edit, Find - it works very well once you click the contents of the folders. (Version 1.6.8)

7zX | Oct 15 2007 |
version 1.6.5 runs for a moment then quits with no output. iMac G5, OS X 10.4.9. The file I try to compress has a long name with lots spaces (it is an eml email message, 100KB. file name is subject line, about 110 regular english letters, numbers, punctuation characters). Drag to 7zx v165, little window shows the following then quits, no compressed file to be found. Do not see any other window, so no way to "set any options" since the program has no direct user interface, no way to set any preferences. If I change the source file name by replace all spaces with dashes, then 7zx does work, gives the Add To Archive window and does create an archiveof it. P.S. 1) the small status result window goes away very fast, so very hard to grab a screen snap of whatever it says. P.S. 2) though I have high hopes for the 7zx program, and appreciate your efforts, I am mystified by your website. I have never been able to get any details or files directly off the site. So I just get the program only from MacUpdate. Also, that is the reason I am writing the long comment here rather than direct to your site. Sorry about that. Hope the details are useful. BRUCE_Y Yes, I can send the example files I have tried. Please tell me what email address to use. I have looked through the 7zx download files and docs but there is no email address. Only physical address and website link. When I go to the website, it does not provide email address. Only a 'comments' box under the software blog topic. That would not work very well for pasting in data files.
