Maybe it would be nice to have some kind of confirming message from Amego, telling us that the iPhone connection is live and working? So far, all I've seen is a bluetooth error message, and no way to know that Amego is "live."

It feels like a guilty pleasure. It's a little too much like the Windows Task Bar to feel really "Mac-like," but it does do the job well. Very nice to be able to navigate to individual windows crisply, seeing what's in the window before I land there. I've always use 'Witch" for this kind of navigation in the past. If it had a hot key to move between windows ... more people would use Fantasktik.

FRANKNS  Yes ... I consistently notice 90% CPU utilization by iav on my MBP (2.4 w/ 4GB). A check of the iav log doesn't appear to show iav running at the same time -- an hour off. A shame ... an otherwise okay solution

FRANKNS  Let me clarify: I cannot send a PDF to my MS Office colleague and ask him/her to edit it. (I can do this with an RTF and it's what I do every day with Nisus). Now, there may be an export function that I missed, but it doesn't appear in the 'Save/as' dialogue.

FRANKNS  Some very interesting choices in the user interface, e.g. labels with words rather than icons, because when you write, you're thinking in words. Of course, that's not for everyone ... A few moments of concern when the start up screen had multiple, tiled images, but they resolved into the usual start-up screen.

Reboot was fine, though it took quite a while to re-acquire satellites.

With pop-ups unblocked, Safari now loads the pop-up in a tab AND I lose the status bar, the tab bar and the bookmark bar.

Delete Glims and all is well.

Sure, natural language input is great, but I found myself correcting almost each entry I made in the first day or two of use, and the process was actually SLOWER than iCal's standard entry method.

For example: Enter "Today 10 p" and you get a mixed response: Today's date, 10:00 am. Cool, except it's *am.*

On Friday, enter "Saturday 2 p" and you get the second day of the month (e.g. Monday, Feb 2 for me now) and 12:00 pm. Ugh

On my iPhone, because it relies on a network connection to retrieve my notes, it really doesn't help me. During the day, I move from building to building, from car to train, from good reception to poor ... and a note-taking application has to keep up.

Jott allows me to take some simple notes/reminders with me. It's not a full-fledged application in the sense that Evernote is, but it stays with me, wherever I go. Another application, Things stays with me to and lets me sync via WiFi when I come back to the desktop.

At the end of the day ... as much as I would like to use Evernote, I can't.

After three months of Mail, I tend to agree. Its IMAP is extremely slow and will -- on occasion -- lose messages. I cannot afford that.

I've set up Gyaz again, using a separate window for searches, and searching "raw source" so that I can go through all my HTML mail.

Mail is simply unreliable. Gyaz just works. But searching for a message is so much easier in Mail that I find myself using both.
