FORAGING FERRET  Thank you so much for this!

As noted in other comments, improvements could made to directions. I'd also like to able to measure the distance of a straight line or path. And an option to set default units (something Google Earth is missing).

Great app!

FORAGING FERRET  Excellent game but best played with a controller.

Quick tip for those wanting to play this game with a controller that has no Mac drivers. ControllerMate allows you to map keyboard and mouse functions to virtually any USB controller or joystick. It saved my life when I discovered that my Logitech controller didn't work in OS X. It costs $15 for the full version but it's well worth every penny.

FORAGING FERRET  Version 0.9.1 works for me in Leopard. But I only encode Xvid AVIs with it. I can't speak for other formats.

FirstClass Client X

FORAGING FERRET  This client needs some serious work on GUI behaviour. For my conferencing needs all its features seem to work but I don't use email or instant message. What annoys me the most is that it won't remember window sizes and positions once they've been closed or when the program is quit. Please fix this! I waste so much time resizing windows when I could be reading messages. The whole program is also a bit sluggish which it shouldn't be as its not exactly Final Cut Pro.

FORAGING FERRET  For those having trouble with version 0.9.2 and Xvid encoding, revert to version 0.9.1

This previous version works fine for me on a MBP 2.16 (late 2006)

FORAGING FERRET  A very nice media player when paired with Perian – much more stable than VLC, I've found. However, I would love to see a "get info" window/inspector giving detailed technical information about the file (a/v tracks, bit rate, fps, codec, etc).

With that little feature and improved playlists I would get rid of VLC altogether.

This is a very nice player!

Pixelmator

****.

FORAGING FERRET  Pixelmator is an excellent and very well featured image editor. It has a very sleek and clean interface and runs blazingly fast on Intel Macs. For the price, nothing else even comes close.

I do however sympathise with CYANN's comment about French localisation, which I have translated (below) for the benefit of users and Pixelmator's developers alike. I myself live in a French speaking country and believe it is important to make software accessible to everyone, no matter what language they speak.

I wanted to give this app 5 stars but this localisation issue brings it down to 4.

Rough translation of CYANN's comment in English:

French localisation was promised when Pixelmator was released and should have been finished a year ago. Unfortunately Pixelmator's developers chose to ignore that promise.

This makes it very difficult, even for those who have a reasonable understanding of English, to fully exploit it's potential, thus rendering it useless to many.

How much longer are these developers going to treat French speakers with such contempt?
