FLOWERM Evernote has become indispensable application for me. I am using it to collect material for three of my university courses—and I will be asking my freshman students to begin using it from day one. I will also be calling Evernote to my colleagues' attention. I need to keep my home and office computers in synch as much as possible. Evernote is an effective repository for material as well as a quick tool for synchronizing content for a number of different projects. I am a Mac user and will soon have an iPod touch in hand and will be using the Evernote mobile, thus allowing me to capture content no matter where I am. (Version 1.1.4)
FLOWERM I am a university professor and I make use of a growing number of YouTube and Google videos (public lectures on political topics, for example). I tried out a number of applications for locating and downloading the videos. iTubeX Ultimate topped my list for ease of use. I tried it for a few days and then purchased it. iTubeX Ultimate's developer continues to improve its functionality (today's release includes the ability to search sources from within the application--nice touch). I recommend giving it a try. It's a first-rate application. (Version 4.3.1)
FLOWERM The only haxie I have used is WindowShade. I gave the new version a whirl. It didn't work for me (running on a new iMac, 10.5.2). When clicked, windows ended up nearly out of view (just a few millimeters showed above the bottom edge of my screen) and in the wrong corner. I uninstalled it. I will wait for a later version. (Version 2.5b1)
FLOWERM Do you mind saying what the problem was for you? My problems cleared up sooner than others so I'd be interested in hearing what needed to be fixed so iClipboard would work for you. I want to recommend the app to others but I'd like not to lead them down a road of the sort that you followed. Was the problem peculiar to your computer? (Version 1.0.2)
FLOWERM Hmm...this must be one of those situations where "your mileage may vary." I haven't encountered the problems mentioned (e.g. I have not seen a crash and burn). But then I'm not running the app on the right (I have two displays and the right placement would be inconvenient). The Chronos folks have been quick to produce fixes...even if not yet for everyone. (Version 1.0.2)
FLOWERM iClipboard is working without a hitch for me now. After a rocky start, which was brief in any case, this version of the app has hit the mark. I appreciate the fixes put out by the folks at Chronos. They were quick to respond to the problems and the inconvenience on my end was minor. Give iClipboard a look. (Version 1.0.2)
FLOWERM The copy function is automatically pasting into iClipboard for me. Is your iClipboard set to show "Pause" down at the bottom? When "Pause" is showing the clipboard is working...which is confusing; the naming of the button is meant to tell you to click the button if you want to stop iClipboard from capturing everything you copy. Similarly, if "Resume" is showing then the clipboard is NOT working but invites you to start copying again by clicking on the Resume button.
What I am finding is a delay in iClipboard responding to mouse-over and clicks to show the clip in detail. And also the categories only allow 2 entries (this is a bug that's supposed to be corrected very soon).
So after these rough spots are ironed out, iClipboard should be as good as we hope it will be. (Version 1.0)
FLOWERM Oh...but I see what you mean about the two clipping per project problem. I found nothing in the instructions to cover that problem ! (Version 1.0)
FLOWERM I saw the same effect but then I took the time to read the instructions. After typing in the name of the Project you have to hit the Return key before clicking on the Done button. If you do this all new Project titles are kept. (Version 1.0)
FLOWERM I have anxiously awaited a version that would run under Leopard and now it's here. It works without a hitch. If you previously used this wonderful little app and then moved up to Leopard, give this beta a whirl. (Version 2.7.5b1)
