Perian's Type Installer	Dec 26 2007	FILMGIRL Well, since I do have Perian installed - I thought perhaps this would work. As it stands, MKV plays sans audio in QT. If the problem is that the Perian plugin isn't compatible with MKV, then why is this add-on changing the icon type? It becomes confusing because I was under the impression this was released by people affiliated with Perian - if it's just some dude's custom Apple Script, that should be more clear. NEONBLUE2 It adds QuickTime style icons for formats that QuickTime doesn't support natively. No extra file formats will be playable they'll just look better.

RUNAWAY Hi, my script adds only icons and file associations via Info.plist patching.

It adds icons for filetypes listed here: http://perian.org/#detail and MKV is included.
