Type: CommentsDate: 7 Apr 2008 02:59I don't think this is a "loop," I think it is infinite recursion.
A result can be technically correct, but still be *incorrect* as far as product usability is concerned. If the result of requesting a VNC connection to the same computer that the request comes from can never be completed, I consider that allowing that IS a bug.

Yes - leave the password field blank, and if you have a key already set up it will authenticate you."

I have, in hand, my original DiskWarrior 1.0 disc that I purchased at MacWorld in 1999. So we're pushing close to TEN YEARS of arrogant disregard for the customer. Since the company is still in existence, and still selling product, perhaps this is a lesson about why you shouldn't waste your time on quality or customer satisfaction. :(
My most memorable (I can't really call it a "favorite") bit of arrogance was a tech "support" person who adamantly insisted, throughout multiple email exchanges, that the problem I was experiencing could *not* be caused by DiskWarrior.
He resolutely REFUSED to escalate my problem to a programmer.
The problem was (remember the old days, now) when the volume selected to rebuild was a (removable) Syquest disc, the disc EJECTED from the drive, and then DiskWarrior complained about not being able to find the disk!!
In my mind, the problem clearly was a *mistake* on the part of the programmer(s) and a "dismount and eject" command, rather than simply a "dismount" command had been issued. Of course I was just guessing, but the Tech Idiot (who of course didn't know either) refused to pass my experience on to someone who *would* have known.
And guess, what? In the next version of DiskWarrior, this problem Went Away! Oh!
And yeah: I, also, am still waiting to see a version of DiskExpress that works with the current Mac OS version. Promised for literally years and years. Never delivered. Lies, all lies.

Type: CommentsDate: 15 Dec 2007 03:52Well, confusingly, the release numbering system of Quicksilver may not follow "conventions."
The version I'm running identifies itself as "B54 (3815)."
I suspect that the "build number" is the correct number to be monitoring for changes.

Type: CommentsDate: 16 Nov 2007 16:00Now, if someone could just figure a way to kill the transparency of drop-down and pop-up menus! (or clue me in to the trick, if there is one).
I just hate the way whatever at the moment is behind a menu subtly bleeds through and degrades both the readability and the integrity of the menu. Yuck.

Type: CommentsDate: 15 Nov 2007 19:34[Apple seems to have re- re-named Final Cut Express HD so that it is again simply "Final Cut Express." Hmm.]
It appears Apple has DROPPED Soundtrack from the product. Mind you, the version of Soundtrack that shipped with FCEHD 3.5 was not the "Pro" version and was version 1.5 too. This *does* identify itself as a Universal Application though.
It looks like the only version of Soundtrack is now "Soundtrack Pro 2.0" which seems to be available only as a component of Final Cut Studio -- rather pricey at $1,299.00. (If you can find a full retail copy of Final Cut Studio, the upgrade from that is merely $499.
If you wanted Soundtrack, it might be worth the trouble trying to find a copy of Final Cut Express HD 3.5.

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Oct 2007 04:08Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah!!
I have Apple's pathetic "dock" thing "hidden" by way of anchoring it to "top," which actually means the 1 pixel space just below the menu bar.
I *can* get to it if I need it, but otherwise it pretty much doesn't exist for me. Thank goodness... I hate it.
I have a DragThing dock on my second monitor that contains 15 tabs, each 7 cells wide by 6 tall. Maybe I have a messy workspace, but I can put FAR more stuff into this (and actually FIND it, later) than I can the Dock.

Among other things, note this:
Libraries to Catalog migration
In Lightroom 1.0, the documentation refers to the database (or .lrdb file) that stores information about your images as a library. Based on feedback from the community and the way in which these files were stored and shared, the terminology has been updated to refer to these entities as catalogs (or .lrcat file).

Type: CommentsDate: 16 Dec 2006 00:52Well, after TWENTY MONTHS of development (two full years, by the time it finally is actually available)... this is not very impressive. When Adobe finally ships it, I will of course upgrade. But only because I HAVE to. Where hast competition flown? Boring boring boring.

Type: CommentsDate: 19 Sep 2006 03:30DEVELOPERS: please do not name your expanded files or folders cryptically!!
This program ("ShowVolumeFragmentation") downloads as "ShowVolumeFrag.zip" which expands to a folder named "SVF.'
In the 1,193 items in my "downloads" folder, how the heck am I supposed to find that!?
Please be explicit in your naming.
A version number in both the archive and expanded versions would be greatly appreciated also.

Type: CommentsDate: 18 Sep 2006 00:35Programmer needs to add VERSION info to the files. There is no way to differentiate version "1.0" from version "1.1" (or whatever) by just checking file info in the Finder.

Type: CommentsDate: 22 May 2006 01:51Anyone interested in this might also want to check out "MySQL Administrator." (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/administrator/1.1.html).
It doesn't look like it would work remotely, but on the other hand it is an actual program, not a collection of PHP scripts. It seems pretty well organized, while in my every-so-often use of phpMyAdmin, that program has always seemed confusingly organized.

Type: CommentsDate: 4 May 2006 15:39To understand what a "Internet Enabled Disk Image" is, read (as another poster mentioned) this Apple doc:
Personally, I don't care for images with this feature turned on: images are silently mounted, their contents copied to the location of the image and then the image file itself is moved to the trash. I find this makes the process less transparent, and (for me) more confusing.

Type: CommentsDate: 4 May 2006 15:25This program should have no effect on whether anyone has problems with a DMG you send as an email attachment. It simply automates (and hides) the process of: mount, open, copy contents, unmount, move image to trash.

Type: CommentsDate: 4 May 2006 15:22Reading the Apple documentation, "Internet Enabled" DMG files have nothing to do with their transportability over the Internet. "Because read-only .dmg files use a flat file format and Disk Copy can create compressed disk images, it is unnecessary to convert a .dmg file to either StuffIt format or MacBinary format."
