DOUGEDDY why would I pay for what is free from Combine PDFs which works beautifully - and don't forget to give that author a donation. I fail to see what this program does that Combine does? (Version 1.0)

ANDREW SCOTT Apple's Preview lets you drag and drop to combine PDFs as well—and you already have it on your Mac. (Version 1.0)

FULMAR2 Thank you for your review. After reading your review, I downloaded PDF combine, and found that it beautifully performs the same task as my PDF merge program. So, yes, you are correct - you can have the same thing for free from another author. Nevertheless, your comment is kind of paradoxical in the sense that you encourage others to pay for something that you plan to download for free. Anyway, I agree, this program does not do anything more than PDF combine. (Version 1.0)

FULMAR2 Combine PDFs is no longer free. It is great software - but now I see that they are charging $30 US after the trial period expires. Another reason to chose Merge PDFs is that the Merge PDF software comes with the PDF libraries - and thus does not depend on the PDF libraries installed on your Mac. PDF combine is an excellent piece of software - easy to use, and it works on most Macs. If PDF combine does not work for you, here you have a less expensive alternative. (Version 1.0)

GraphicConverter X | Jul 3 2008 |
DOUGEDDY I have used Graphic Converter for years. I have tried a number of other products and still find this the easiest and most effective of all the products. The developer is constantly upgrading the program. It is very easy to use. I find this along with Text Edit Plus to be the two best values $ for $ I have on my Mac. Bravo for a great program with excellent support. (Version 6.1.1)

BRUCE_Y I too agree on the good value and performance of Graphic Converter, and also Tex-Edit Plus. And both developers are great guys. I've had occasion to converse, email both on issues and they are helpful and congenial. (And interesting you picked two apps that I use very frequently -- in fact, Tex-Edit Plus is open/active pretty much all the time on my iMac.) (Version 6.1.2)

GraphicConverter X | Dec 4 2008 |
PAULSON I agree 100% that two essential apps on the Mac are GraphicConverter and Tex-Edit Plus (That's TEX-Edit, not TEXT-Edit). They could both stand a little updating as far as user interface is concerned, but they are both outstanding. (Version 6.3)

CopyPaste Pro | Jun 18 2008 |
DOUGEDDY I repeat again - I tried and tried to get them to respond - and I was trying to buy the product. Maybe they like others more than me, but I had the feeling nobody was home and nobody wished to earn a few bucks. If they won't answer for money what makes me think they will answer if the program gives me trouble? It is a shame because I liked my previous version. (Version 1.0.8)

CopyPaste Pro | May 21 2008 |
DOUGEDDY I used to use CopyPaste Pro, have written them several times regarding some help in the upgrade process and have heard nothing from them. I will no longer upgrade and have removed it from my system. I will not use products from people who value my patronage so little and do not do me the courtesy to at least let me know they have received my e-mail - using THEIR OWN SYSTEM AT THEIR WEB SITE to communicate with them. OmniGraffle Pro | Jul 4 2007 |
DOUGEDDY I just love this program. It works with such ease and the final product looks so professional. I have used it to design different communion table outlays for different services. My committee folks love it because it is so clean, clear and attractive. Also, the folks at Omni are really excellent at getting back to people who have a problem or concern. I had some real problems with OmniOutliner and they were excellent and timely in assisting me. (Version 4.2 beta 6)

SOHO Business Cards | Jul 4 2007 |
DOUGEDDY I will never buy another product from this company. I purchased their whole suite of products, mainly because I use a Palm. Found all of the programs buggy, hard to use, inconsistent in performance, and even the claim in one of the programs that it would soon have iCal and Address Book support - not of any quality it did not. Their support service matches their programs. I went through all their hoops to contact them - clearly they have no desire to speak with those who buy their product - and never heard a thing from them. Before they became SoHo they were a good company. I think they should now be known as HoHum. Bad service leads to non-returning customers, and I am one. (Version 2.1.1)

VueScan | Jan 22 2007 |
DOUGEDDY Love this program. He updates it regularly so late purchases are covered, but it also has allowed me to use scanners long past the dead time. The price is very reasonable. It is deceptively easy to use yet has a host of options that allow you to adjust according to your skills, or, more importantly lets you experiment to learn how to get better scans. I've used it for years, just updated to the latest version and noticed some of the reviews. It is a great product and they are a great provider. (Version 8.4.03)

OmniOutliner Pro | Jul 27 2006 |
DOUGEDDY I love OmniOutliner but until they fix the print process I’m not sure I can use it. I have found TAO offers many of the same things I need but does not suffer from the print difficulties. When OmniOutliner came out they said it would be the MORE replacement. So far I don’t see that. I want an outliner (forget the other stuff MORE had) that works and PRINTS as simply as MORE. I am a clergyperson and used to use MORE for my sermons (what a dream app — could easily move stuff around and print with no problem. Could change font size, spacing, etc. with such ease - and PRINT). OmniOutliner fails that print test. Please understand - I LOVE Omni products. It is just the outliner has not reached the printing capabilities I need. I don’t have time to play the “90% scale” junk to get it to fit a page, print as laid out, and have it all fit ease I had with MORE. PLEASE Omni - all I want is to have you at least meet OS9 print standards. Other than that, your program is A++++. Doug Eddy (Version 3.6.1b2)

Daylite Productivity Suite | May 29 2006 |
DOUGEDDY I too find Daylite appears to be what I want, but it is convoluted. I dislike the fact that you have to import iCal’s instead of having it work directly with iCa. It seems so smooth but I’ve found it rather confusing and complicated. I agree, the cost is WAY out of line. Improve the synch with iCal, get a much better manual to help understand the thing, and drop the price a lot and I think I’ll try it for good. (Version 3.0.3)

DOUGEDDY I llike this program. It is a fairly lightweight outliner but it’s ability to synch with Mac OS is very much appreciated. It is very stable and offers some nice, basic outlining features. I have had no problems with it. I have had with Shadow, which is a great outliner but many of the advanced features are not too stable. It was well worth upgrading for me. (Version 4.0.3)

Accordance | Aug 3 2005 |
DOUG EDDY I have used Accordance for years and am still learning how to use it! It performs so many functions and I would be seriously limited in my work if I did not have it. It is so powerful and the selection of add-on modules cannot be beat. The staff go out of their way to accomodate, and they regularly update the modules to improve functioning or add new functions. The list of available Bible translations and resources is excellent and the continuity of interface with all modules most helpful. They are the best I have seen and I highly recommend their software to anyone. (Version 6.7)

iTunes Library Manager | Jul 1 2005 |
DOUG EDDY I have used Library Manager for several years now. I have found it to be very stable and have encountered no problems. I did pay the upgrade fee but felt it justified because the program is well supported, does what it claims it will do, and has been a real life saver for me - my PB hard drive could not possibly fit all my iTunes cuts! But I do keep a good number on my powerbook - duplicates from my master collection - so I always can play iTunes. The transfer files to another iTunes folder does not work smoothly, but that is my only hesitation. Everything else works great, especially the save feature. I am very glad to have a good program that enables me to do this. (Version 4.2.1)

AXXLL I have Large number of tracks and my Powerbook HD is running out of space. Is there a layman's step-by step on how to create several libraries on external Hard drive ? I really need to sort this out. I want to create library each is about 10GB.

Print Therapy | Jun 14 2005 |
DOUG EDDY I am going to download it because the I can never get to my jobs when there is a problem. The utility won't let me go there. I have to pull the paper or do something to cause an error before my Epson's come online with the jobs list. I think the problem is with Apple - I DO keep my system up to date and regularly run discwarrior and repair privs and do all the good little things. (Version 5.0.2)

Accordance | Dec 6 2003 |
DOUG I have used Accordance for years and am impressed that they continue to improve the interface! At first it can be rather daunting because it is so powerful, but it is well worth purchase - the modular nature of the programs keeps it budget wise. It is a fantastic program and the additional research material you can purchase for it has given me a massive library just a keystroke away. Also, the staff there is terrific. (Version 6.0)
