DOGBERT1  The newest version (2.2.6) appears to have fixed the Preferences problem. I am quite pleased because this is one of my favorite Mac OS enhancements.

DOGBERT1  This does not appear to work on an iMac G4. Version 2.2.4 works just fine. I have had to drop back to version 2.2.4. Version 2.2.5 causes the system preferences app to crash. I have tried removing the old preferences, but it did not help. System preferences still crashes when trying to load ASM pref panel.

DOGBERT1  I've been trying for most of the day to download this file with no success. The URL is not a direct link, but a link through a php server page, so you cannot restart the download. the server appears to limit the download speed to 10KB/sec. even on a really good connection. The server constantly drops the connection in the middle of the download. Extremely frustrating even for free software.

DOGBERT1  You are right. I spent part of two days figuring this out. XQuartz was not the problem, but it showed up a previously existing conflict that hadn't been causing problems. I removed the other software and both FontExplorer and the new Xquartz are happily coexisting. Thanks for the quick response.

DOGBERT1  If you use Linotype FontExplorer, do not install this software. It breaks FontExplorer and there is no way that I can see to revert to the old X11 as there is no uninstaller. I have tried installing the older X11 from the install disk and X11 no longer works. I had to reinstall the XQuartz and disable FontExplorer.

DOGBERT1  I had to revert to Safari 2.0. The package tracker widget no longer worked and links clicked in applications other than Safari no longer opened in a new tab, but in a new window. This is highly annoying and totally inconsistant with my work flow. So unless Apple fixes this I am afraid that I will be stuck at Safari 2.0. On the plus side, the uninstaller works flawlessly.

DOGBERT1  It is very disingenuous to claim that these applications are free, when in fact they are not. A 'donation' is required to permanently unlock the app. For that very reason alone, I would recommend against downloading this or any of the apps by Limit Point Software.
