DHUFFORD  This can be useful however. If you use Spotlight in Leopard, you can just use keyboard shortcuts to open Spotlight, type in lock, and hit enter, and that, to me, could potentially be much quicker than using the mouse to go up to the Fast User Switching icon. If you don't use fast user switching, these seems still faster than using the Keychain Access equivalent.

We might be talking in milliseconds, but I know that most of the time my hands are on the keyboard, so anything that I can do to use shortcuts is faster to me.

Waiting until the screen saver comes on isn't really effective either. If you want to lock your computer immediately from surrounding people (like in a residence hall in college) you don't want to wait 5 minutes or whatever for your screen saver to come on.
