DGTLSNPR I've been using Hookup since it was released on the dottunes website, and I think its a pretty good product. For one, I like the fact that I can now extend the power of iTunes sharing beyond my local network. Once I shared my library with other people, I was now able to gain access to their shares, which was pretty cool. Another cool feature is the social networking side of Hookup. I have the ability to see which of my people is on my share, while they are on it and chat with them about what they're doing (what songs they're downloading, movies they're watching, etc.) Setup is a snap, and you're up and running pretty quickly. All-in-all, its a good app. (Version 1.0.0.291)

DGTLSNPR I've been using the iPhone plug-in for a few days, and my experience has been exceptional. I have an Airport wireless network in my house, and I've been able to watch movies, videos and stream music without having to wait or any delays. Outside of an initial load delay (which was seconds at the most), I have been able to listen to music, which uploaded and streamed completely end-to-end without interruption. I have watched videos and movies (again over wifi) from 4:30 minutes through 20 minutes (got bored), but again without any choppiness or loading issues whatsoever. Going from playlist to playlist, or from song to song, and back-and-forth between pages also has not resulted in any significant delays in either the loading of pages or the loading of the content behind those pages (although I suspect that a feature which allows you to turn off artwork would definitely increase the speed that pages load regardless). Over the edge network, things are definitely different. Depending upon where you are on the network, you may get inconsistent results. In some places, I've been able to stream music and my songs loaded fairly quickly, but in others, it took a while. That said, this application is best when over wifi, but passable (location dependent of course), over Edge. All in all, I think that the iPhone plug-in is well worth the price of admission. Moreover, the DOT.TUNES application itself is a great deal especially since even without the iPhone plug-in, you can get at your music from wherever you are. If the developer is reading any of these comments, I would suggest a feature which allows you to stream one song after another, and the ability to turn off artwork. Get those down, and I'd buy it again! (Version 1.0)

FREEDMAN I have the same setup, but even with the developer's help cannot access my iTunes library outside of my local Airport wireless network. I have set a static IP for my comouter, enabled port forwarding to that IP address for 9998 and 9999. Nada. In addition, the Playlist menu on the iPhone simply will not display any selections. I just get searching spins. Artists and Albums work, however. Right now, this software is all but useless to me. Can anyone advise how to properly set up an AIrport configuration for this app to work? Maybe post it on the developer's site.

DGTLSNPR chilp82, don't be upset. DOT.TUNES isn't just for iPhone users. The application is for anyone who uses iTunes to store and access their music, movies, videos, podcasts, etc. Even if you don't have an iPhone, you can use it. I had the Treo 650 and 680 before and I was rocking DOT.TUNES on my Treos. And their website has plug-ins for different devices, like the Wii and the PSP. So don't be discuoraged, just download the app and see what its all about for yourself. (Version 1.0)

DGTLSNPR I got the iPhone plug-in before this promo started, so I'm talking from experience...this application is wicked! Once I got the plug-in from the Plug-in Manager within DOT.TUNES, I was rocking my whole iTunes library from my iPhone. I was watching MOVIES from my iPhone. i was playing my music, listening to podcasts, right in the palm of my hand. Its great over wifi, and not too shabby over Edge. Depending upon how large the file being served actually is, the load times may be slightly longer (and its a wash if you're trying to watch a movie or video over Edge), but overall, its great. If you DO have an iPhone, this is the singular application to have because it totally lets you get at your stash with no problems. It simply works. (Version 1.0)

DGTLSNPR I utilize Dot.Tunes to give my clients access to the projects in development. Dot.Tunes gives me a forum for my production teams to submit materials, pick up projects, and keeps everyone in the creative loop connected the the product as it develops. Dot.Tunes has increased my productivity because I am now able to receive multiple opportunities, respond to them quickly with substantial assets, and get feedback from my clients instantaneously. It is easy to use, easy to set up, and simple to monitor and share. A colleague of mine introduced me to the application when we were working on remixes for one of our clients. When I got the app, I have a few issues setting up my ports, and the developer was helpful and got me up and running. So not only is the application serious, but the support is really excellent. DGTLSNPR I got turned on to Dot.Tunes from a colleague of mine, and downloaded it a couple of months ago. I am extremely pleased with the results. I have been able to share my media files with my clients, who have been impressed with the ease of use of the application and its overall functionality. I have been able to remotely access my library of over 7000 tracks with ease, even through my Treo! I have also created accounts for clients with permissions with even greater ease, and in just a few clicks. Dot.Tunes is a must for anyone with a good stash of music (or any media for that matter), that they can't realistically travel around with. Dot.Tunes has my hearty endorsement. Five stars.
