DB2  Wow. Just set up Remote Buddy on my iPhone. Works as described. After fiddling with BlueTooth on my iPhone (is that feature functional yet?) I read the FAQs (!) and found the bonjour setup. After that, it was a snap. Now I can select and move my music all over my house using my iPhone, remote buddy and several airport expresses. Very cool. if only I could use RB to direct movies from my iTunes library to my iPhone for viewing there I'd be in remote heaven.

DB  did everything the developer required:

Download Front Row 1.0.1.

Install the package using Pacifist. and then

Run 'Front Row Enabler' FROM THE DISK IMAGE.

Up to this point everything was fine. But every time I tried to run FRE from the disk image, I got this message: 'Could not save changes to this script because you do not have the necessary access privileges. -5000.'

I have never had any problems with access privileges before as I am the Admin of the mac.

Note: I did run this script from the desktop (not the disk image) and didn't get access privilege problem but got another: my keyboard and mouse preference crashed while trying to get to the shortcut for FR. I finally had to uninstall FRE. Now I'm stuck.

Any help would be appreciated.

DB  I've just upgraded to V5 and this is the most exciting program I've ever used for my Treo. The conduits for iTunes and iPhotos are simply amazing. This program has given my Treo new life. I have complete control over the content of my Treo - from selecting folders with documents, song lists and iphoto albums and calendars, events and tasks. Wow. Best upgrade I've ever paid for. I can't believe I waited so long to dump hotsync.

DB  I've kept close watch on all the virus definitions. I've downloaded them and verified that the date of the definitions corresponded to the date on my Virex program (7.2). As of 9/19 no update has shown up in Virex. That is, I just updated to 9/28 and then to the 10/6 definitions posted on the McAfee site. Virex, run on my computer after installing those updates, still shows 9/19 definitions. Has McAfee stopped supporting this version of Virex as of 9/19? Is this just a programmer's error and the definitions are indeed up-to-date? Any one else seeing this disparity? I should add that this behavior accurs in all of my Macs - iBook running 7.5 virex on 10.3, Mac Mini running 7.2 on 10.4.

Should we just trash this program once and for all?

DB  I was convinced to purchase this upgrade from v6 for two reasons: 1. integration of Popcorn into the burning suite; 2. Wiretap-like capability with CD-Spin Doctor's widget.

While the 'popcorn' integration works well and seems to compress faster (a real plus), the Spin Doctor program is a complete mess. The widget works well as long as you don't mind moving to the dashboard to start it (wouldn't it be better on the dock? or like Wiretap, floating?) but what is really irritating is that once you've captured the audio stream, Spin Doctor doesn't provide you with a visible waveform, a file to make tracks from, or a way to play the file! In fact Spin Doctor confirms that no audio file is available - the play buttons are dimmed out. But if you quit, it will ask if you want to save the file! I've opened the widget recorded AIFF file in Sound Studio, Quicktime, Jam 6....you name it. But not SD. Unbelievable.

The 7.0.1 update didn't correct this problem.
