DAVECOTTER 1) start a new thread if you're asking new questions, rather than reply to something unrelated 2) i have my own forums, please use them instead 3) or email me directly, which i much prefer 4) with a small library you should do fine. see the system requirements on my downloads page 5) yes you can plug in a TV and put the lyrics screen there (Version 1.0d49)

DAVECOTTER Well jeez, that was my bad. I recently moved from one ISP to another and forgot to update the web form php script to stop using the old mail host. Thanks to you for letting me know. I've fixed the feedback form and tested it and now it is working!

DAVECOTTER Again: People, be aware that kJams makes *several* releases per month. By the time you post "it doesn't work" it is probably already fixed. Please do your homework before posting. That includes contacting me to see if I've already fixed the issue. Ten times out of ten, I HAVE fixed it already. (Version 1.0d48)

DAVECOTTER That has been fixed, please try again. And by the way, please take the time to find out what kind of release schedule a piece of software has before posting possibly erroneous information. kJams, for example, has releases sometimes three times a week. By the time you've told the world "it doesn't work" there may be a new release that has fixed the issue. Also I'd very much appreciate bug reports sent directly to me rather than blogged to the world, thanks. (Version 1.0d48)

DAVECOTTER Well all I did really was very VERY carefully read the instructions. Everything I needed was there in the first place, you just have to be very meticulous. There were many MANY restarts and trial and errors, and I needed to use AppleRemoteDesktop (or VNC) a lot because hooked to my TV if the signal came out wrong then I could not see the screen. Basically start with a "known good" configuration and tweak it a bit and restart. If that's good repeat, else go back a step. http://www.kjams.com/wiki/HDTV (Version 1.09)

DAVECOTTER Did you know kTunes has it's own forums? The burning plugin is already "tryout", you can download and install it for free, and it will burn discs with max 2 songs on it, so you can test it out. You can have your entire library on an external disc, and move the disc around. Just drag and drop your ~/Music/kTunes/ folder onto your external drive (the one that holds the music). Then, on the ext. drive, select the kTunes folder and make an alias, now place that alias in your ~/Music/ folder (on both machines). Make sense?

DAVECOTTER Yes, I just recently added QuickTime import (so you can play movies) and soon will add Still image import (so you can play "stills", and will soon be adding the feature to let you set music to stills and add them to playlists, then you can use them "between" songs, so you can put up a banner ad or whatever.

DAVECOTTER I'm very curious to have your impressions on how to make ripping even easier. As you know, sometimes we developers can't see the forest for the trees. What could I do to make it easier to rip? Recently I made it so if you unawarely chose "Add To Library..." (instead of "Rip") and then navigated to your CD drive, it will "just work", so newbies will get the "do what I mean" behavior.

DAVECOTTER Just wanted to give this guy full credit! With generous email support from the author, i realised my problem (reported earlier) was just pilot error. I am now easily able to output interlaced video formats from my MacMini (Early 2006 model, Intel Core Duo, with the intel GMA 950 graphics chipset). I'd like the user interface to be a wee bit more obvious, but it surely gets the job done! Excellent stuff! (Version 1.09)

SYED ALI Dave, could you please share some of the info you received from the developer. I am trying to get 1080p working on a early 2006 Mac mini used with an Insignia 42" LCD which is supposed to do a full 1080p resolution. (Version 1.09)

DAVECOTTER It mystifies me that folks will try something, then if they can't figure it out, assume it's broken and go public with their opinion. I've got hundreds of happy folks importing left and right without any troubles. Did you bother to contact me to get some help importing your songs? I can't help you or fix it for you if you don't ask me to. Please write directy to me if it doesn't seem to function as advertised, ten times out of ten it's a simple step that was missed, and then I have the opportunity to make it right for you AND update the documentation so this doesn't happen to prospective future users. Thanks. - dave (Version 1.0d41)

SIXTYK Did you see that little blue tag at the begining of my comment? It said REVIEW. That means I downloaded the software, tried it out and I chose to express my opinions and experiences with the software as it is presently available. I even acknowledged that this program is still in development and that I did not expect things to be perfect. I was not asking for tech support as this is not the place for it. Part of the purpose of MacUpdate is for the people who are using these programs to post their comments and reviews as a reference to those who might be interested in downloading it. I would suggest that you try not to take it so personally when people comment here with less than heaping praise for a program that is not even finished yet. I know that this is an unfinished program. I know you are working on it. I understand that you can not do tech support via.MacUpdate. This is what you have available now. This is the version I tried and these are the experiences that I had with it. I don't think my comments were out of line. (Version 1.0d41)

DAVECOTTER I wrote to the author several days ago, and did not hear back. The author claims "compatability with the new MacMini", however, I can not make it work with 1080i. I see others are having success with 1080i on other machines. When I add that resolution and restart, it does NOT show up in the menu (as 480p does show up). What am I doing wrong? The software seems to be perfect, except I can't find value in it if it doesn't work on my setup. I'm happy to re-evaluate if i've done something wrong. Thanks.
