Out of curiosity, how is this different from OSXplanet? At first glance it looks very similar. |

I'd like to use this on Tiger, too. |

Thank you for the analogy, Darukaru, but it's not very helpful or accurate. Other programs built on the Mozilla application framework are excellent media players (take Miro, for example). |

That was fast! Thanks for the new release, and the response. |

It seems that charts can't be saved, but I noticed that they can be printed to a PDF. Don't bother printing to paper, though, unless you have a lot of ink to spare. Not bad for for a 1.0 release, but it does need work to keep me as a user. I'm left with the impression that the developer knows this. For instance, Astrolog refers to itself as a "Baby Astrolog" that hasn't grown up yet. |

This is a script that performs a fast user switch (with confirmation). From the description, I was thinking that Suspend Session was more like Relaunch. |

MacUpdate is not the best place to mention this (try http://growl.info/contact.php). You can see the current Leopard compatibility status at http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?t=15349 |

Evolution being available for OS X is a very welcome sight. It installs and runs fine, though the description should mention that Evolution requires X11. |

As the description says, "I recommend making a clone of this "Security_Key" on a CD and storing somewhere for emergency situations." |

It's not too often that I replace my own code with another program (I was previously using a Folder Action to rename new screenshots), but Sharpshooter's preview window is just too much fun. 5/5 for everything but features, which I give a 3/5. I could really use format converting options and a Save To button for keeping the Desktop clean. |

I'd like a have the option for a quick keyboard shortcut for changing the cursor size. Until then, I'll be using Universal Access -> Mouse & Trackpad -> Cursor Size. |

This is great. Not many utilities use the corner spaces of the menu bar (to the left of the Apple menu and right of Spotlight) and I like how BatteryViewer does it. There are a lot of configurable features not currently mentioned in the summary so I'll include theme here: BatteryViewer is a fun Preference Pane and background application pair which displays the level of your computer's battery. Generally, it does this by displaying a bar graph (there are other ways that you will discover). The size and location of the graph can be selected. The colour (and transparency) of both when the battery is empty and when it is full can be specified. Battery levels between empty and full will blend the two colours and their transparencies. There is also an option for showing the percentage full as well as the time remaining (until empty or completed charging). |

This is an adorable application launcher. It has a slick interface and the items in the launcher are configurable. The application is currently a hefty 9MB and I'm not sure I like the donationware notices, but it's definitely a good thing to see new Mac applications. I've used most of the application launchers out there (and switched back to OS X in part because I missed Quicksilver) and try out new launchers when I see them. Even if a launcher doesn't impress me enough to use it, it still might be just what a friend or client of mine needs. I don't know why some comments raise the question that it might be a virus or trojan, so hopefully my comment will help bury them. |

I experienced the same authentication loop when using Firefox and Safari, but the first time I tried it using Opera I was able to complete the registration. |

The Electronic Frontier Foundation recommends using a second web browser exclusively for using Gmail, and here it is. Thanks! http://parahuman.org/journal/2005/04/why-i-dont-do-gmail-for-now.html |

Wow. Thank you. Is there a way to use Lucida Grande for the labes instead of FreeMono? Replacing the font in Contents/Resources/OSXplanet/fonts doesn't seem to do anything. |

If the link to the SourceForge download doesn't work (as is the case right now), try a mirror at Planet Mirror: http://public.www.planetmirror.com/pub/sourceforge/a/au/audacity/ |

Allume uses a registration form on the download page that asks for an email address ~ with the idea that a link to the download will be emailed to you. While waiting for the email (which still hasn't arrived), I found that you can download it directly from: ftp://ftp.allume.com/pub/pub/mac/StuffIt/ The current release can be downloaded at: ftp://ftp.allume.com/pub/pub/mac/StuffIt/For_MacOS_10.4.x/StuffItExpander11.0.2E.dmg |

migueld, I hadn't even noticed Path Finder's lack of the Finder-like features you mentioned in your post (I always use column view), but I'm not sure what you mean about the sidebar hiding parent folders. In case you haven't seen this already, you can right-click or control-click on the sidebar item to see its path. Just select the parent folder to open it. |

Messages don't appear when the application is hidden. The only way to "hide" Subliminal Message is by minimizing the main window to the dock. On a different note, Subliminal Message works just fine with VirtueDesktop's workspaces. Thank you for this fantastic program. I'll report if I notice any effects over the next few weeks. http://parahuman.org/journal/ |

Neil answered my question at http://www.cocoatech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7096 It turns out that history storage needs to be turned on first, which is done by adding HSTSIZE=1000 to .bash_profile |

Where is the command history saved to? With Terminal, it's saved in ~/.bash_history, but for the life of me I can't find where CocoaTechTerminal (and iTerm and Path Finder) saves its history. Other than this, it's a fine widget for quick command line tasks. |

Mac Light is written in AppleScript and the source is viewable by opening it in Script Editor. What it seems to try to do is move the Spotlight system files to a different location (and thereby disabling Spotlight). For what it's worth, it didn't work for me. |

I took Hendrick's comment as a kind of friendly challenge and took a look under this screen saver's hood. I set out to modify it for my personal use, and it turns out that WakeUpNeo is a regular OS X package containing an uncompiled .swf file). About a half hour and one Flash MX tutorial later, I have my own "WakeUpChristo" screensaver! |
