CHRISDPRATT  This app is effective at letting you know when other applications are attempting to access your network connection or "phone home". However, it having some default filters for standard Mac OSX applications and processes would be nice. You wouldn't believe the number of miscellaneous daemon apps there are. Additionally, sometimes it failed to remember permissions I'd already given an app and would ask me again.

That said, the UI is a huge monumental failure. Once installed, there's no way to stop it from loading at startup or close it. To be fair, in normal operating conditions you probably wouldn't want to anyways, but I was running the trial which *annoying* interrupts you every 3 hours with the configuration dialog and makes you restart it. Actually, that was enough to turn me off. If you're that worried about making people buy your software, use a time-limited demo or something.

HIGHWAY ONE  The trouble with these reviews, is that any old pratt can come on here and say what they like.

Chris, you are talking utter nonsense mate. The GUI can be hidden, and set to stay hidden on start-up. Once you have *properly* denied an app or process access to any port forever it will remain denied. Surely it is no big deal to just once-only select 'allow forever' for the Apple processes that you trust. Once it is done, you can forget about it.

There *is* a time limit on the demo; it's three hours.

I have no affiliation with the developers of this app, but have used it for the last 6 years and tbh I would feel unsafe were it to be absent from my machine.

I recommend you try it again Chris. Try reading the instructions this time.

SMTIPS  I agree, Chris you should read the instructions. And what's wrong with a FULLY functional demo that lasts for 3 hours? Unlike numerous other apps that are crippled or give you like...2 tries then quit...LS allows you to see the full version in action then to decide whether it's worth purchasing to you.

Too many people come on here giving bad reviews of good software when they should RTFM and pay for the thing or stop bellyaching about it.
